My main man Carl! Learned most of the intro solo by ear, but when I got stuck I literally typed in "Sanitarium Carl" and it brought me to the light lol. Your channel is awesome! Perfect for an intermediate player like myself as well as those just starting out. Keep it up, Carl!
I've been playing guitar for a couple weeks and thanks to this guy I can play this.. I think he's a great teacher.. only thing is sometimes I don't know what note jes playing... other than that he's great
this was the first solo I learned, watching this video 10 months ago. it’s insane how much progress I’ve made. my personal favorite (and most recent, it was today) accomplishment is playing creeping death at 230bpm. hopefully I can manage this full song now. thanks for your videos Carl you are so unbelievably helpful and inspiring .
Hey Carl, I'm not much on Metallica but this is truly inspirational and not too terribly thought to play. Run together it really is wonderful, a lot like everything else you teach. Thank you so much!
I know I’m a bit late but still worth saying this guys amazing I litteraly was harmonizing with him on this while learning it you make badass tutorials and I’m sure I’ll learn a ton more from you
nice! been playing guyitar for 2 months now. pretty much can play enter sandman and master of puppets (just intro!) and this is my first solo... its beautifull! i love the little click sound just before every high note! guitar road is just wow
Carl great job teaching the solo!!! When I first started watching your videos I thought you moved kind of fast too, but the more I practiced and learned my chord progressions. It all came together nicely and you teach at the right speed now :) thanks for your great lessons here it was very helpful to learn the solo along with your other ones. Keep them coming you are one of the best on here I watch the other two Marty and Papastache
The end of this video straight made my day. "Approachable for most intermediate players" and I'm sitting here following along and actually getting it down I'm so happy I could now consider myself intermediate hellyeah
Carl, you da man! Just wanted to say thanks for all the vidieo's. You always do a great job, breaking these awesome solos down so i can play them. thanks a bunch
I guess today I learned I’m an intermediate level player! Just learned the whole intro solo then he went and dropped that on me. I don’t know if I can handle that type of pressure!
Thank you a lot! I never learnt a real solo (only some very small solos or lead parts), but today I took a break from rhythm and this video helped me a lot. I just need to work on timing tho.
Well it was great until the 19th fret of the high E. My damn 19 and 21 frets are dead on both e strings. I can buy a new guitar for the price of a fret dressing or a re fretting.
0:19 so this is the correct way to play this little part? my teacher gave me some printed tabs and it says i have to bend up and then bend up and down the B string at 17th fret huh
gigos2 I think this is not a solo that I beginner should attempt to play. If you are at the level of ability to be able to play or even attempt to play this solo I think the video pace is fine. You will notice in my more beginner level videos I go much slower.
the solo isnt the issue.. my english is not my native language, and by going fast i meant to the talking and showing on the guitar where to put the fingers.
GuitarLessons365Song No? Well, I find you really helpful. I am a beginner and have learned the intro, this solo, the intro for One, intro for Master of Puppets, Verse riff for Master of Puppets and the harmony solo for Master of Puppets in 3 weeks!
4 years later and this is stil the best lesson on UA-cam, thanks Carl !!
Yeah until now he still is the best
Nothing better so far😁

7 years later and still no one beat this tutoi

carl is god

Yea I agree. He needs to separate his fingers a little more when he’s teaching to make it a little clearer what he’s playing
yes i do agree.also he needa to slow doun when hes soloing
THANKS CARL!!! Cant believe i can play this now...
I thought it was gonna be way harder
I think by far, this channel is the best guitar tutorial. Very clear and easy to understand. Well done Carl!
Easily the best guitar lessons on UA-cam. I can effectively play at least 100+ songs because of this channel. Much love!!!

Everyday, I am thankful for Carl teaching us our favourite songs 🙏
Thanks man your videos are really helpful!
You’re such a good teacher!
I was waiting for this one thanks
thank you man.. i broke my wrist a few months ago and this is the best way to gain back my ability to play! slow and steady
Thank you for the video! I've learned this solo, War Pigs and some Metallica songs!
The end of this video straight made my day. "Approachable for most intermediate players" and I'm sitting here following along and actually getting it down I'm so happy I could now consider myself intermediate hellyeah
i wouldnt even consider it that hard tho more like a beginner thing for me
even if its a little fast just replaying helped me on this solo, thanks
Thanks so much Carl! This is my first ever solo and I finally got it down good
Thank you so much. U break it down perfectly
Just relearned this solo. Great tutorial man!
Carl, you da man! Just wanted to say thanks for all the vidieo's. You always do a great job, breaking these awesome solos down so i can play them. thanks a bunch
Solid teachings man for beginners you may move a little fast but besides that you did a great job thanks for the video
You're awesome man, no tab could teach me that as well as you did.
I love you bro! you taught me most of what I know!
this is my first solo. thanks carl

Amazing lessons
I have a problem with the fastest part of this solo but I'm keep practicing it. You are a good teacher.
Thanks dude love this solo
Thanks, Carl! 😄
Greetings from Italy!
Great lesson, very easy and well explained, cheers.
I love this solo!!!!!!
Great tutorial, thanks man!
Great lessons by the way

Well it was great until the 19th fret of the high E. My damn 19 and 21 frets are dead on both e strings. I can buy a new guitar for the price of a fret dressing or a re fretting.
Great lesson. What effects pedals are you using in this one?
great lesson
Thank you so much! Always wanted to learn this since 6th grade...I'm 39 🤣😍
I can't believe I learned this! Thanks 🙏🏻 🙏🏻 🙏🏻
what amp do you have like how do you get it to sound like the song???
I learnt this then found out you're playing it wrong and now I've gotta relearn it
Thanks alot
Hes not playing it wrong
Sir please add low man's lyric acoustic guitar lesson by Metallica ❤️
Anyone know how to get that tone ? I’m using a Marshall code 25 AMP and I’m completely useless on what can create a good tone for solo
Can you make the whole song lesson please?) like "fade to black" for example. It would be amazing
Hi Carl,
I love your guitar tutorials and the way you teach them, but is there any way you could add a tab pdf for the songs please?
SHAG[tv] you can buy an official book man
this is a great solo for beginners i wish i found this years ago lol
Thanks man
Is there delay on the original version ? Or reverb
Thanks
Great!! Thank you!))))
Awesome video
Around the 1:25 mark, do u think it'll be nice to use 16--17----14..?
---12
Instead of 16--- ---14?.??
Lol if that makes sense...
Thanks alot!
awesome lesson, thank you for making this video. I would like to know what effects are used for this solo, is it only OD and reverb or delay as well?
aditya enduri I use both. Sounds godly on my boss katana
you are the best.
thank you very much for this video...2 thumbs up!!!
what effects pedal did you use?
Hi carl, whats the guitar your using ?
Mohamad Saadi Music Man Petrucci signature model
thank you sir
Can you tell me what effects your using?
Good stuff Carl I always use your lessons for the rock and metal songs.... Do you ever plan on doing "When the Children Cry" White Lion
i hope i do this one to
Come on Carl.....what delay do you have? ....let us know what your set up is
Thank you!
Thank you very much!
Your 500thk subscriber here
Master of puppets is an all time album
You very Good!
I am brasil
Круто круто круто))) наконец-то я выучил это соло))) спасибо бро, хорошо объясняеш, я из России и все понял)))))!!!!
thx
0:19 so this is the correct way to play this little part? my teacher gave me some printed tabs and it says i have to bend up and then bend up and down the B string at 17th fret huh
Either way man. What ever is easiest. Ya still catch the same note.
I prefer to bend it
is there a preset close to the amps here on Amplitube 5?
This broke my neck
Any of you guys have tips on the fast part of the solo I always mess up
Play it slow
Mason Bala what do you mean by that the fast part is fast not slow
Wolfster 21 play it slow first as a practice and over time increase your speed till you master it
Wolfster 21 play as slow as you can then go a tad faster every time
effects and amp settings?
I got it !
Hey what kind of guitar is this?
He has a video where he showcases his guitars. Just look up GuitarLessons365 my guitars and it'll probably come up
which guitar does he has ?
are you using delay
Hey, you think you could like slow down just a tad?
This solo is very easy if you know the "natural minor scale".
It's not difficult until you gotta perform it in front of 1000 people and you know your ex is sowhere in the front crowd starring directly at you
Fuck guitar pro, this guy is the best.
Do you use a wah pedal for this song ?
not this solo
Man I wish I can play like that, I can't even play the simplest songs on guitar.
David Bagshaw You can do it man 3 weeks ago I could barley hold a pick. Now I can play Holy Diver and shit like that
THECHI7LDUDE22 Yeah but I can't play worth shit.. No matter how hard I try I can't fucking do it. Most people can easily get it but I cannot.
+David Bagshaw Try harder. More practice less play If you have to.
+David Bagshaw Use Marty from guitarjamz. Lots of free lessons on youtube. I bet within a few weeks you will be able to play better.
Three weeks is a lot in guitar just play play everyday learn new shit
I want the whole song please
3:33
Don’t mind me
2:04
3:30
could you teach the whole song?
easy
why whenever i play this song in my head, it always leads to the fade to black solo
Beacause it's the same scale, so basically almost the exact same notes but in different orders, rhythms, etc
He’s going to fast and doesn’t repeat each part twice so I could get it but great video
You know you can rewind videos 😂
1998 called wants it's hair back
Enter sandman
you going too fast.. for a beginner to learn something from this video is very difficult.. disappointing.
gigos2 I think this is not a solo that I beginner should attempt to play. If you are at the level of ability to be able to play or even attempt to play this solo I think the video pace is fine. You will notice in my more beginner level videos I go much slower.

gigos2 just pause, rewind and watch the video as many times as you need, in the end you will get it ;)
+gigos2 Use your ears. If you can't match pitch yet you should play the solo.
