Oh, today i've just found John Rutter who plays true happiness in God, Thank you so much. I'm suffering COVID myositis, but my heart is full of joy for your music. God bless you and Ukraine.
Look at the world: Everything all around us Look at the world: and marvel everyday Look at the world: So many joys and wonders So many miracles along our way Praise to thee o lord for all creation Give us thankful hearts that we may see All the gifts we share and every blessing All things come of thee Look at the earth: Bringing forth fruit and flower Look at the sky: The sunshine and the rain Look at the hills, look at the trees and mountains, Valley and flowing river field and plain. Praise to thee o lord for all creation Give us thankful hearts that we may see All the gifts we share and every blessing All things come of thee Think of the spring, Think of the warmth of summer Bringing the harvest before the winters cold Everything grows, everything has a season Til' it is gathered to the fathers fold Praise to thee o lord for all creation Give us thankful hearts that we may see All the gifts we share and every blessing All things come of thee Every good gift, all that we need and cherish Comes from the lord in token of his love We are his hands, stewards of all his bounty His is the earth and his the heavens above Praise to thee, o lord for all creation. Give us thankful hearts that we may see All the gifts we share, and every blessing, All things come of thee All things come of thee
I've always been a huge fan of John Rutter but this one is special. I listened to it over and over during those horrible weeks in the spring and summer of 2020 when the entire world had turned upside down and we couldn't find the new normal. This song was something for me to hold onto and I still can't listen to it without crying. Thank you, Lord, for Mr. Rutter.
John Rutter has captured the message of God's love for us that we have in Creation. Would the words and music of this amazing piece of music guide our conservation of what God has given to us.
I like a lot of Rutter's marvelous pieces including this one - oh my gosh! I could sing this on Songs of Praise and not only bring hope back to a bitter world. But perhaps maybe restore faith between people. I would love to do it. Because my instinct as a Church Chorister would dictate that I should.
one of the most challenging pieces of music I had to study and learn as the accompanist to a Lutheran Church choir in PA.....all in all.... a great experience.....wonderful presentation
I really enjoyed the balance and live performance, national premiere, in Ottawa, Canada this summer... I miss the children's choir in this version and the orchestra is overpowering compared to Ottawa. Finally, it should be lighter but the strong opera voices and british accent make this heavy. We are so lucky to have Mr. Rutter teach us and have this majestic musical piece grow and shine. Definatelly a valiant attemp, but I'll charish the cellphone recording of Ottawa's premiere.
But... as far as I know this is THE choir Rutter himself has... he is their conductor, so I think this is how he intends it to come out. I don't nessecarely share your opinion, but I've also never had the chance to hear the piece at a concert :/
Patrick Roy I would disagree. The British diction is clear and what you refer to as operatic “approach” is just a full tone not to be confused with a pop style of singing which is not really singing. The orchestra is not out of balance with the choir. Unfortunately the mass majority of Americans are not exposed to good a good singing style and/or decent recordings of music.
@PattiBowenSolutions Atheists? You state that we cannot love the works of this master? We love stunning and special music and brilliant voices. Long live John Rutter and his music and verse!

Rutter is an agnostic but he is probably a better composer than every believer alive today.

Glory be to God in the Highest, the Creator of heaven and earth! Eternal praise be to his holy name!
Glory be to God the Almighty!
One of the most beautiful songs I’ve ever heard. This is what Paul is speaking about when he says Psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs.

It's heartening to see there are still hymn composers of this caliber nowadays. They are rare.

Mu Soulmate introduced me to this Heavenly Music. Sadly, he passed away a month ago. May his beautiful soul rest in peace. Until we meet again. ❤
Divine music! Speaks deeply to our heart!
We are singing it in our choir at this very moment. Very easy piece to learn, but quite beautiful.

So nice! I wish to let my children’s choir sing. Can I request for music score and minus one?
So nice

An interesting perspective that hadn't occurred to me. Thank you :)
True. "The Cambridge Singers" is Rutter's Choir. Most of his works are sung by them, with the occasional concert recording by others.

@@musicdirector8661 Absolutely. I wouldn't dream of criticising JR with his own ensemble!

Agree - hard to credit there could be so many soulless people out there! They obviously appreciate neither beautiful sentiments or music!

Sounds like Disney's next popular film.
Irritating good music😄
