- The other day one of my YT channel members, @nilsvanvelzen asked me if I could resume my organ improvisation tutorial series which he has found helpful in the past. Specifically he wanted to know how to improvise an emergency prelude if all you have is a hymn tune and harmonisation. In this video Part 1 I will teach you to do just that. In Part 2 I will continue this training tomorrow. Here I'm using Bach's harmonisation of the chorale tune Schmücke dich, o liebe Seele taken from Book 20 of complete organ works of J.S. Bach. It's a very useful resource to have and the link to the score is provided below. Enjoy the training!

Thank you very much Vidas. This is for me a very useful tutorial with techniques I can manage. Beautiful how such a simple concept can have such a nice result. Hence a lot of practicing for me but I’m sure I be able to master and apply it! Looking forward to part 2.
Part two will expand it even further. Enjoy! I already have a plan for tutorial about the postlude on Psalm 75.
I think it would be great if I use it when I accompany at church! Thanks for the kind explanation! Dear Vidas😀😀😀
Good luck and tomorrow’s video will teach you one further trick!

Hello,i really want to learn the organ but i only have a 61 key keyboard,i live in a third world country and things are expensive and unavailable. Are there any ways to be able to play the organ?
Any suggestions please.
Yes please take a look at Hauptwerk, Sweelinq or Grand Orgue softwares. They require only MIDI keyboard and a computer to play with the beautiful organ sample sets.
@@SecretsofOrganPlaying Thank you so much for your reply,if I learn this way will it be difficult to incorporate pedal board little later in in my organ learning stage.....
@@bishalghimirey2993 the cheapest option for pedals would be to buy a second hand pedalboard from eBay or other sites and midify it. New midi pedals cost something around from 1000 USD upwards but used ones are much cheaper.
@@SecretsofOrganPlaying Ok thank you for your reply have a good day......
