Fun fact the Happy Days theme wasn't used until the second season. They used Rock around the clock in the first season.
Darn! You're right. I love it when folks are smarter than me!! Thanks for the clarification.
The HD pilot was actually an episode of “Love American Style”. Betcha didn’t know that, either.
@@mattslupek7988 I new that the father was played by Harold Gould who went on to play Valerie Harper's dad on Rhoda
@@ellen6638
NICE!
@@mattslupek7988 I knew! The skit was called Love and the Happy Day.
16/16! Pretty good for being born in the mid 70’s!
Born in the mid-70s but acing it in the present! Thanks for watching. (Will have 1970's Volume 2 coming out shortly.)
15/16. Missed Fantasy Island. I’m actually kinda happy about that. 😛
Maybe missing out on Fantasy Island was a good thing, actually!! Who needs all that fantasy when reality is exciting enough? Nice work on 15 of 16...
@@PopCultureQuizzes_
Thanks, man.
Cindy Williams was so pretty!
Yes she was. Did you know she also appeared in American Graffiti (1973)??
@@PopCultureQuizzes_
So did Ron Howard, Harrison Ford, and Richard Dreyfuss.
Great point! Believe it or not, I JUST watched American Graffiti for the first time, just 2 weeks ago! I must have grown up under a rock!!
I missed two, so 14/16. Never watched "What's Happening" and never paid much attention to the "Fantasy Island" music, what we all remember is Tattoo's famous line "Look, da plane!"
14/16 is pretty impressive! Who needs "What's Happening" or "Fantasy Island" when you know the iconic "da plane, da plane!" line?
Yep, first Tattoo ringing the bell, then pointing skyward, and then"da plane! Da plane!"
Exactly same as me. Never watched the former, and 'FI' theme is boring.
Every one. Almost missed Fantasy Island, but I just watched it.
Phew, close call! Fantasy Island didn't want to miss you either! Thanks so much for watching!!
De plane! De plane! Always got a kick out of Herve Villechaiize when he said that opening line.
13/16. Never watched What's Happening or Fantasy Island... The other miss was Facts of Life... I watched that fairly often, couldn't recognize the theme music quick enough.
This is a great score. And I love your honesty on how well you did. I'm trying to decide if I were to be so honest???!!! It would be so easy to say, "Yep, got'em all right", even if I didn't. So thanks so much for that...and thanks for playing.
Perfect score 16/16
Congratulations on acing the quiz!
I got all of them right
That's awesome! Great job on acing all of them! I have some other 1970's quizzes on the way. Maybe you can ace them too? Keep an eye out for them and thanks for playing.
Perfect 16/16
A perfect score! I wish I could give you a trophy. But instead, I'll be posting 1970s TV Vol 2 shortly...
15 of 16 I missed on fantasy island
Interesting. Fantasy Island was a hard one for lots of folks. Awesome job getting 15!!
Got ‘em all.
Nice work. Aced it. Thanks for being a loyal viewer! It means a lot...seriously.
Hey, Hey, Hey was Dwayne's catchphrase on What's Happening. He was played by Haywood Nelson.
Yea. You’re right. Another observant viewer mentioned that as well. I appreciate you keeping us honest.
got them all right thanks for the memories
Your very welcome. That is why we do this. So we call can remember a slice of "when things were simpler". The other decade videos are fun to. The 60's, the 80's...
Got 15 right, missed Fantasy Island. TV shows today aren't as good today as they were back in the 50's,60's, 70's, 80's and 90's. My top favorite shows were The Waltons, Little House on the Prairie, Emergency, Daniel Boone and Major Dad. The commercials were classic back in those days. I even have my favorite commercials.
We are so on the same page. Pretty obvious why I'm loving making these quizzes. I love these shows, and cartoons, and all this Retro stuff. The shows you mention...will show up in current or future quizzes...I promise you that!! And TV commercials, and TV commercial jingles...its all fun, fun, fun!! Stay tuned!!
That's the only one that I missed as well.
I got all of them right! 16/16. watched a lot of tv back then.
Perfect score. You rock! I have lots more TV Show challenge quizzes coming out. They get a little harder... Thanks for watching and playing.
For WHAT'S HAPPENING, it was not Rerun who said, "Hey, Hey, Hey." It was Dwayne.
Darn! YOUR RIGHT! I'd like to say this was planned, and I was hoping someone would point it out...but that would not be true :-( Nice job!!
The "Sanford and Son" theme was by Quincy Jones.........."WKRP" reminds me of the hugest crush I had on Jan Smithers ("Bailey Quarters")
That is such a sweet sentiment. about the crush. thanks for sharing that!!
That was a stretch, but fun, I have to say! Thank you!
I'm glad you enjoyed it! I love making these, so I hope you come back. We have a Vol. 2 for 1970's TV quiz coming out shortly. Thanks for watching.
Thank you for the childhood flash back to my favorite time of life. I was born in 1972 so amazing and good programming. I remembered all the theme songs, the last one was a close one almost didn't get it.
Wow, what a nice complement. I'm sooooo happy this let you flash back to a wonderful time. (And thanks for the "good programming" thing too. Very nice.) I have a quiz coming out TODAY (July 21, 2024) that should do the same thing!!! I hope. Thanks for playing...
I got 13. I've never hear of "What's Happening." The themes for "WKRP" and "The Odd Couple" sounded familiar and I would have gotten them if they would have been played a little longer. I guess "Facts of Life" could technically be considered a '70s show since it started in 1979, but it is mostly an '80s show.
13 is great. And yes, some shows should be in the next decade. We messed up a bit on some. Thanks for your attention to detail!!
16 of 16: BTW, The Facts of Life was the 80s!
Yeah. You're right. I kind'a cheated as the Pilot originally aired on NBC on August 24, 1979. But continued all they way until May, 1988. So you're right, but for some reason, we stuck it in the 70's vid??? Thanks for keeping us honest here at PCQ!!
Missed 4 of them, strange because I used to watch all of the shows!
I understand. But seriously, did we ever really listen to the theme songs when the shows were coming on? We were busy using the rest room, or grabbing some soft drink!! Thanks for playing.
15/16... missed the last one
Rock and roll! Such a nice job...
15/16. The only one I missed was What’s Happening.
Thats a great score. very well done. I appreciate you playing our quizzes here.
Got all very easy got 10 shows on dvd boxset
15½. I knew the characters for What's Happening but couldn't remember the title!
That awesome!! And take that 1/2 point and run!! Thanks so much for joining us. There are several others to watch and play, so have at it....
A little deceptive.. season 1 of Happy Days used “Rock Around The Clock”
You're right. Another viewer also mentioned that. Sorry for the mis-step. We try to be accurate, but we messed up. I do appreciate someone with attention to detail!! So thanks for that.
I got 12, this started out real easy, then got harder as you went along.
Actually, that was what I was going for...We can't make it too easy, right? Nice job and thanks for playing our quizzes.
15 out of 16. Watched too much tv as a kid.
I will only agree (that you watched too much tv as a kid) if I see you getting 15/16 on the 50's vid, the 60's vid, and the 80's vid. Otherwise, seems to me like you watched 'just the right amount'. (Thanks for playing the quiz game.)
16/16. These shows premiered while I was in elementary school. M*A*S*H, The Facts of Life, The Jeffersons, and a few others lasted into high school.
Ahh. I see you took the 70's Quiz. And aced it. Nice work, and thanks for playing all the quizzes....
I loved MASH. Watched it all the time.
I took off .5 point. I knew the show but not the name. Sanford and son.
Very nice! I'll be releasing a Volume 2 for 70's TV shows. There were A LOT of great ones back then.
10 out of 16... for somebody born just after the decade ended, that's pretty dang good I think!
I think so too. Try the 1980's TV show quiz. That may have some more recognizable shows...
15/16. Forgot the Fantasy Island theme
Nice work. And I've said this in these comments a few times, but Fantasy Island is one of the most commonly missed ones! Who knew? Thanks for playing.
16 outta 16
Perfection. Totally aced it. Nice work!!!
8. I never saw 'What's Happening' and I had completely forgotten 'Fantasy Island' because it's so boring and lame.
Glad you didn't do easy ones like 'Brady Bunch', 'Hawaii 5-0' 'Bonanza' or 'Different Strokes'. Though 'Suicide is Painless' is pretty iconic for M*A*S*H.
Funny you say that. Because those are all great shows, and (whispering now...I do use those shows in other videos! Some of those videos are not released yet.) So, keep watching and thanks.
Damn, I watched all 16. However, I only got 13 themes, missing Facts of Life, Fantasy Island and What's Happening.
Right? we think they are so easy. Funny that lots of folks are missing Fantasy Island. Not sure what it is about that show? Thanks very much for playing!!!
Come on, I know someone did as poorly as me, so I'll say it.
I got 8. A few I recognized but couldn't remember the name. Like Good Times instead of Jeffersons.
Well I love your honesty. The beauty of this type of thing is, the winning is in the fun you had playing. So maybe you really won!!!
i also only got 8
14 out of 16. Had no idea on the Muppet show and drew a blank on fantasy island
Great job on getting 14 out of 16! Those were tricky ones.
Got them all
Was sad not to see "Little House on the Prairie" in the quiz
Aced it. Nice work. BUT...you will see Little House, in one of my TWO more upcoming 1960's vids I'm working on. So stay tuned....!
@@PopCultureQuizzes_ Little House premiered in 1974. It's a 70's show.
Yes, you are right. I 'typo'ed' above, and said upcoming "60s" videos. Meant to say 70s. Nice catch. I love folks with a clear attention to detail!! (Actually, that show is scheduled for my Vol 3 1970s Quiz. There were so many great shows in that decade!)
Charlie's Angels. I didn't remember then being described as three little girls.
I know. Made us cringe when we were making this vid. We hear that today, and say, "So condescending" But back then, it seemed to be ok, I guess? Just shows how culture changes, how "what's acceptable" changes, and how far we've come (but we have so far yet to go.)
Who went to the police academy.
15
Thank you for watching and sharing your score. 15 of 16 is awesome. Hope it was fun. We have lots of other quizzes to play...
Got 15 out of 16. I did not guess the What's Happening theme.
Awesome....So good.
got 8 of them as those 8 were shown here in the uk
That’s a good score. Some other viewers suggested we assemble a UK version. One viewer gave me a list of maybe 30 shows to use. What do you think?
14, missed What’s Happenin and Fantasy Island
Well done. And interesting to me, that those two are by far the most missed (based on comments like yours). Thanks for playing.
I missed Fantasy Island.
So 15/16? Thats great. Nice work.
Laverne & shirley
Correct again! Nice.
15/16 missed WKRP
That’s a very good score. Thanks very much for playing.
I got every one of them right, because I watch(ed) everyone of them, except Charlie's Angels, I didn't like that show at all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! But I knew that one, because my sister used to watch that show!! A lot of these shows I still watch today!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That’s awesome. They are really good shows. I watch them, even today. Thanks for playing.
O solteiro mora no Brasil
Thanks for playing.
Got 15 out of 16
Congrats on getting 15 out of 16! Nearly perfect. Way to go.
Being a Brit the only ones I got were Charlie's Angels,MASH,the Muppet Show,Happy Days and the Partridge Family. There were several more that I recognised but couldn;t think of the TV show until the answer was revealed (The Love Boat,The Odd Couple, etc.) Like that Jon Sebastian tune a lot.
Interesting. I just replied to another from the UK. Should we do a UK quiz? What shows should I include???
@@PopCultureQuizzes_ Hi,I've been trying to think of British TV show themes from the 70s,so here's a list of suggestions I've put together:
All Creatures Great and Small
Animal Magic
Are You Being Served?
The Avengers/The New Avengers (from the 60s and 70s)
BBC's cricket coverage/Test Match Special (still in use today)
Black Beauty
Blue Peter
Coronation Street (in use since the 60s and still today)
Crossroads
Dad's Army
Dixon of Dock Green
Doctor in the House/Doctor at Large (from the 60s and 70s)
Dr Who (still in use today but the 60s and 70s versions are the best!)
Emmerdale Farm (still in use today, soap opers's name shortened to just Emmerdale)
Fawlty Towers
The Good Life
Grandstand
It Ain't Half Hot Mum
It's a Knockout/Jeux Sans Frontieres
ITV News at Ten (still in use today but the 70s/80s version has the most gravitas)
Last of the Summer Wine
The Liver Birds
The Magic Roundabout
Magpie
Man About the House
Man Alive
Mastermind
Match of the Day (still in use today)
Monty Python's Flying Circus
The Onedin Line
Paddington Bear
Panorama (still in use today, slightly altered)
The Persuaders
Play School
Please Sir!
Pot Black
Rainbow
Randall & Hopkirk (Deceased)
Ski Sunday (still in use today just originally used on the 1976? Winter Olympics)
The Sky at Night
Some Mothers Do 'Ave 'Em
The South Bank Show
Sportsnight
Steptoe & Son
Tales of the Unexpected
The Sweeney
That's Life!
Tomorrow's World
The Two Ronnies
Van der Valk
Vision On
Weekend World
Whatever Happened to the Likely Lads?
What the Papers Say
Whicker's World (60s and 70s)
World of Sport
The World at War
Plus three classic ones I've added three from US programmes that we watched a lot over here:
Hawaii Five-O
The Rockford Files
Thunderbirds (in fact pretty much any of Gerry Anderson's creations, such as Captain Scarlet,Stingray, etc.)
WOWOWOWOWOWOWOW! Darn, that is one big list. I LOVE IT! I'll copy all of these and take them back to our deep, underground Lair, and start working on it!!
@@PopCultureQuizzes_ Thanks. Glad you like it. I thought of one more to add : The Benny Hill Show them - should raise a smirk or two. Would Morecambe & Wise always finishing their show with "Bring Me Sunshine" count?
16/16
Perfect. Now only one left for these TV Show quizzes. Just the 1950's quiz. I make that one a bit easier, by putting a few more clues. Thanks for playing!!
I got all 16 right.
Looks like you're the quiz master now, ready for the next challenge? We have a 1970's Volume 2 coming out shortly. Stay Tuned!
16/16 I almost missed Sanford and Son
Phew, that was close. See how you do on the 1980's TV quiz...
“What’s happening” was the only one I didn’t get right
Looks like you've cracked the code on everything else. Great job!
I miss 4 forgot some of the theme songs
Sounds like the theme songs are playing hide and seek with you! But seriously, getting 12 right is pretty impressive....Thanks for playing.
Missed two, What's happening and WKRP
Not bad. Only two? Time to binge-watch these very fun shows...
I only knew 1 cuz I wasn't born in the 1970s I was born in the late 1990s but only one I knew was The Muppets show
Good place to start 🙂
Those of us born in the early 80s got to watch VH1 and Nick at Nite enough to know what these shows were... last I bothered to check, VH1 was all basketball wives, now 😞
That's cool. As "your elder" (that means I'm way older than you...), I'd suggest you should stream some of these 70's and 80's TV shows. They are pretty darn good... Makes you remember 'back in the day', when we did not have cell phones, did not have Social Media, and frankly, we had like, 3 TV channels to watch. But life was simple then. (These are the thoughts of an Old Fart, reminiscing.)
Only missed What's Happening
That one show is the most 'missed' show in the video. Seriously. Not sure why, but it is what it is!! Thanks for playing.
i missed one,,... the facts of life, which i never even watched so therefore i got all of them right.... cause the one does not count since i never watched it......
I'll go for that. But you might want to watch it. Facts of Life was iconic TV.
One wrong. What's Happening
One wrong? Must be a glitch in the Matrix. I have Vol. 2 of 1970's TV coming out soon. We'll see how you do on that one. Thanks for watching.
14 out of 16
TAXI ?
Looks like you're almost there! Not sure what you mean by "TAXI?" (But, btw, Taxi was a really funny show!!)
@@PopCultureQuizzes_ why was that theme not included ???
Ah, sorry for missing your reply. Taxi will appear in an upcoming (Volume 3) quiz. Soon, we'll drop Volume 2 of the 70s shows. LOTS and LOTS of great 70's shows!!
I missed 4
Thats not too bad! Seriously. The 70's was a long time ago. Give the 80's Quiz a try. May ace'em all on that one! Thank you for playing our little quizzes...
15/16 just could not remember the shows name( What’s Happening) remember the song.
That is a great score. Whats Happening is a common one to miss, according to all of these comments that I read. Thanks for sharing.
1 wrong and I was born in the 80s
Ok, not bad at all. Have you tired the 1980's TV quiz? You'll ace that one!
Charlie's angels
The 'Original' Charlie's Angels were best, but we, here at PCQ, do love Lucy Liu!
Where do you type in your guess? I am on a desktop.
Hi. Simply enter your score. Like, "16 out of 16" or "Just missed 1". Like that :-)
Not so good. I managed to identify only 12 out of 16. I got off to a good start, missing only one of the first nine or so, but then things went sour.
Well, 12 of 16 is not too bad. Pretty good, I'd say. Try the 1980's TV quiz. Maybe that will be better??
Mash
I appreciate you taking the time to comment! (Loved Mash, btw.)
Hiheylikeit
Hiheylikeit? Is that a new secret code for "awesome video"? Thanks for watching all the quizzes.
Yes
Lame
Bummer that you didn't enjoy it, but thanks for checking it out! Seriously...
15/16...wasn't sure about What's Happening. That was fun!
Glad you had fun watching! and thanks for watching the 60's vid too!
Perfect 16/16
16/16, you've nailed it. Very nice!!!!
11
Thats great. Thanks for watching and playing!!
16
As the kids used to say , “Awesome Sauce”!!!
11
Ok. Not bad. Give it a go with the other games and quizzes, and thanks for playing....
