I love how descriptive your video is! It almost made me feel like I went through extubation myself. Terrifying. But you were strong and pulled through with flying colours! Such an absolute trooper!! ❤

Going through such a big surgery and intubation it’s a memory that is very hard to forget. I still remember these memories from 25 years ago. They do become a distant memory in time, but yours are so fresh. My heart breaks for you listening to these all over again. Thankyou for trying to help others,it must be very hard for you to do ❤

It's been quite a journey so far, and yes, pain is more or less a reality of everyday unfortunately.

Wow you poor thing. This is just horrific, I am a nurse and this is major, major surgery! I’ve had 3 multi level spinal surgeries in my time, years off work due to pain, but this is next level. I was panicking watching you before getting your breathing tube out and telling that nurse to hurry up and get it out lol! I still feel breathless for you. I can not believe your courage and strength, you really are such an incredibly strong person and your attitude is incredible. Thank you for sharing this will be so helpful for nursing staff and for those going through similar procedures. ❤ all the very best dear

It's certainly been an incredible journey, for which I had no idea how hard it was to be. Very thankful for the kind words, I keep aiming for improvement, but a year after this procedure and I'm still dealing with rather intense pains, shortness of breath, tightness, etc... Feels like I was practically cut in half..... Oh wait.... Lol.
Thank you for watching and writing!

Being a nurse, it may not bother you so bad, but there is a separate version of this video (ua-cam.com/video/8aESWjk2asI/v-deo.html) that has images from the OR, yes it's tough to see, but also rather amazing someone can survive that. I'd encourage you to see it, but again, full disclose it shows the tumor in my chest while I'm open, and my heart beating with the little patch of tumor stuck on it after resection. A little gross, but rather amazing

How are you doing after this? I hope you’re feeling better. How scary. 😢

This was early March. I still have tremendous pain some days, most days it's "tolerable" like a 4 or 5/10 with my meds. Very few days I feel really good, almost like "normal". Short on breath is likely permanent, or at least hanging around a long time. Energy and stamina most days is also not much better, probably like a 5/10. It's been quite a long journey. I feel as if forward progress towards being "better" physically and pain wise, had plateaued a few months ago.
      Thanks for asking!

Scary for anyone about to have it. Think
I’ll make a note I never want intubation that’s for sure.
