- Buy a dream car, drive little, always take care of the condition and do not give it to the wrong hands. This Mercedes 190D W201 left the factory and Warsaw's Principles showroom in 1992. Under its hood is a diesel, because it was precisely such cars that were most respected in our country at the time, still remembering the times of the ethylene shortage. After more than 30 years, the car has covered only 73 thousand kilometers, and its condition indicates that it rather did not lack care and attention. Today such a car is pride, and when it is decorated additionally with still preserved black plates, the pride is all the greater.

My other Daily is almost the twin to this car,a 190D 2.5 . Mine's Barolo red,same interior but with the 2.5 engine .With 540,000 Kms on the clock it still drives great and can more than keep up with traffic. I have to take it easy because of fuel costs and traffic police on the hunt for revenue. I can see my car doing over the million Kilometers easily.
Had a 190D 2.2 with 5-speed manual US version for 6 years. It cured me of speeding as I had to drive it flat out just to keep up with New York traffic. Traded it in for an LS400 Lexus.
I had once a 250 station wagon with 87 hp and automatic transmission. Perfect car but no chance for speeding... i loved this car but the safety inspection seperated us.
Does the manual not have the “ kick down switch” ?? As do the automatics?
Idk how most people don’t know about that button under the gas pedal then always think these MB diesels are all so slow 🤷♂️🤔💭😉

It really helps a lot
I daily a 1983 190E auto and the kickdown is the best thing for always get a good aceleration on it
I also have a 1991 190E 2.6 and the kickdown makes it really really fast for a 91 car

These are a underrated car. I remember when they came out, I was in America, it looked stupid. My attitude at the time was who wanted this dweeby little mercedes benz. And you got to understand the America perspective, we like power and acceleration, 0-60 in 12second is a joke. This car at the time was way outclasses by Acura, Honda, maybe Lexus. It's true the Acura Integra was the great car of the 90's for $18,000 to have a car with 1.8 liter motor with 180hp that did 0-60 in 6 seconds and had a 140mph top speed, that was revulotionary performance coming out of the 80's and it did up the game in performance and I think Acura can be attributed for the great advancements in performance of cars in the 90's and 2000's. But nowadays I went to Armenia and I could not believe how many of this old, little 1997 Mercedes Benz C180's were on the road. A lot of the cabs were 1997 C class mercedes with the four and a manual. That's where Mercedes left Honda behind, the acura 1994 fell apart around 2008 with about 200k miles on it at most. Never underestimate the baby benz's. In America Mercedes are seen as luxury cars but for most of the rest of the world they're seen as necessary economy cars because people need the heavy duty long lasting performance with the fuel economy so consequently usually the small economy mercedes are the ones that are most over engineered.
