I consider myself to be someone who loves fighting games and rhythm games to death, so it should go without saying that I wish I had discovered this a lot sooner. The Y2K aesthetic, cel-shaded visuals, and manga-esque loading screens are quite appealing, and the concept of each character's Level 3 Super Move being a mini-game in itself looks pretty interesting. Lastly, what I find coincidental is that this game and Jet Set Radio were both released on June 29, 2000, in Japan.
This one really takes me back. It was games like this and _Jet Grind Radio_ that set the "flavor" of the late 90's and early 00's apart from everything else at the time, and we really haven't had anything like it since (which made _Hi-Fi Rush_ such a wonderful surprise). Those were the days 😊
What an obscure and cool looking fighter this is. Gonna have to try it out. Im assuming the studio that made this is no more, but id 100 % buy a rerelease just to support
Oh, I don't believe this. This is like a Jet Set Radio Fighting game. But this game is fire! & they have a tomboy version of Chun-Li. Along with Roberto from Rivals Schools. Except he decided to quit playing Soccer & decided to be some kind of a glass cleaner.
There some hidden gems on the ps1, a fighting version of Jet Set Radio? Plus a comic book manga too, wow the cowgirl got it going on. Need to give this a go.
Extraordinary walkthrought,Loading Geek Slap Happy Rhythm Busters is one of the most fighters games in my opinion An jewell with all his letters April...i love you, babe🥵🥰😍🤤😘😋 Grettings from Argentina, see you tomorrow & good night🫱🏻🫲🏼🌃🇦🇷
One of the most biggest hidden gems of the PSX era. Thank you for giving this some much needed love!

Both games released in the same day!? Wow

One of many hidden gems for the PS1
"Forgotten" is more like it
3:26 Zekoo is just Genjuro right down to the same super move 😆
And April's use of knives reminds of Dio and Shadow Dio from Jojo's Bizarre Adventure by Capcom.
Lol dude that intro for this game is amazing! The soundtrack sounds right up my alley too. Also, dat impact sound effect 👌 I think I gotta get this.
This is the most y2k thing I've ever seen
i listen to the whole soundtrack.

That "tomboy Chun-Li" is actually a more grown-up Mia from a previous Polygon Magic PS1 fighter.
@@TheArchivist30 Oh really? Talk about mind blown i did not know that lol

Yep! In fact, Mia, Ramos, and Oreg all come from that same game! I believe it was called VS.
It's funny you should mention that, because Slap Happy Rhythm Busters and Jet Set Radio both launched on the same day in Japan: June 29, 2000.

It's actually a pretty okay game.
So it looks like long cinematic supers in traditional fgs are not a creation from the late 00s. They are fairly early.
Need to get me this game and the all star Kakuto Matsuri for ps2! :)
2:53 is that a Jojo reference
Terrific video lg.
Funny game 🎮💪
Can you pick up hat? 🧢 😢
