One of the most disturbing wesen's next to the aswang, oh my goodness that episode just... my goodness. And it was the child's own grandmother. "You can always have more children but you only have one mother". Creepy as hell. Her son should have taken her out right there.
I personal think the Gedächtnis Esser is more disturbing than the Aswang.

I don’t think it’s an axe to grind at all? Soooo many shows like this have had a similar storyline. Like Supernatural. It’s just a fun thing to base a monster/creature off of.

The youth being drained.
Human greed, if we consider that humans have killed, scheme, lied, and gone to prison for it then it's worse than the youth being drain from you, even if you died from it it's just an instant and it was cause by greed.

I once read a quote from a person that worked in the entertainment industry who said in Hollywood, if a elixir could be made from a woman's own aborted fetus that would make her look 10-15 years younger, a large percentage of the women there would be having abortions every year to get it. Not sure how true this is But there was an article a few years ago about the infant trafficking industry in Hollywood . The article said when infant and babies get traumatised, by various methods, their brains product a special chemical into the blood. The blood then get extracted at that exact moment and consume by many Hollywood celebrities. That is how they stay young. The article also mentioned baby boys foreskin skin tissue can also be injected into the face to reverse the aging process .
