The #1 city was built in 1960, and has been growing every year since, Potatograd. You get food, 1 radio station, child care (up to 6 years,) a 22 hour/day job, and heat at least 35% of the time in winter. That's why Potatograd, lead by Comrade-Dictator Potato, is the #1 city built game. Thank you, Comrade. Please bring back the Workers & Resources series. Thank you, Comrade. 10-year subscriber.
@orbitalpotato campaign still in progress, i will try realistic mode soon, thanks! Also i bought all dlc Biomes, Maps & Ukraine support pack. Best wishes to you and your channel!
Workers and Resources, I have it. But the UI remains so unfreindly for anyone with less than perfect eyesight, and there was never any response to my requests/comments on this aspect. Manor Lords, only partly a town builder. More so a fighting simulator. No mention of Ostriv. That I am delighted to suggest is the greatest town builder that I have ever played. Oh and with a Dev, who in spite of being in a war zone, still manages to respond to bugs that we find, mostly within a day, whilst still adding new features regularly. Ostriv is about creating your 1700s town in the Kharkiv region, and if you are careful you can build it into a super complex city.
Nice list. Surprisingly I have the first 3 in my library, but Soviet Republic really has a ridiculous learning curve. I'm loving it, but mistakes abound :D. I was wondering where Captain of Industry was lol, but I see that was released in 2022 :O. Happy holidays Potato!
The mistakes in W&S come from the game not being polished... the tooltips are just garbage, because a lot of infos the players need aren't in the tooltips.
although workers and resources can improve a lot in terms of ui and how the game teaches you how to play it, it is by far, the best city building experience I ever had in many years (realistic mode is so good)
This video is one of the best of these 'top 10' kinda videos that I've come across in this sea of trash this genre of video and games suffers from! - Pretty much there is Manor Lord, that Soviet republic game, maybe City Skyline, but otherwise; its meh. But good video!
Be warned, Workers and Ressources is full of bugs, glitches and issues, be it crashes and freezes, totally weird and wrong translations or just glitches like you transport your workers to your factories, but never back (I assume they teleport back home). I've bought it in early access and it feels like still being early alpha.
I must say, the last time I played that wasn’t my experience. I think the transportation of workers to factories (but not back) is intended as far as I know!
What up with you keep recommending mixed received games like Frostpunk 2? Almost nobody that loved the first one likes the second . Are they sponsors of the channel? Also Fabledom is abonded right after release with some game breaking bugs left
Frostpunk 2 isn't "mixed received", it's close to 80% and consistently increasing. Reception of the game by hardcore fans of the first one that was bound to be more critical isn't a good reason to not recommend it.
@@Gigusx Alright I see it is climbing/finding new fans but read the positive reviews to discover it would be mostly neutral reviews if that was possible. It lacks too much what made the first game great. I was pretty hyped about 2 but I would recommend 1 over 2 all day and so would my gaming friends. Glad I got it trough Gamepass.
1) My views are subjective, just like yours. I loved Frostpunk 2, not everyone did and that’s totally ok! 2) As to the bugs, I can’t speak to that, I didn’t encounter many when I played but that’s different for everyone.
Hard disagree, one of the best games in recent years IMO! UI is brutalist (I think that’s the point), but perfectly fine but different strokes for different folks

Agreed, Workers and Resources is really the best one also for me, and i've still a lot to discover in this game !
Hardcore mode (realistic) will blow your mind if you haven’t played already!

such a bad take on UI. you can increase the size.
A very underrated game. Ostriv was more feature complete than Manor Lords when it was released on Steam.
@@sprendinea You couldn't the last time I checked. How about a demo, anyone.
I haven’t actually played Ostriv, but will look into it!
Really enjoying your top 10 series. Nice to see a top 10 list with an actual human behind it.
Happy Holidays OP!
Love ur work bro. Merry Christmas n Happy New Year.
Same to you!

Frostpunk 2 was meh for me
WRSR has no equal at the moment. The GOAT

I absolutely agree, it’s hardcore, but I think that’s party why I like it so much!

But good video!
I think Synergy is the one I'm interested in.
Almost 100k subs!❤🎉
So close!
About Manor Lords, I am pretty sure it was the most wishlisted game on Steam period.
Workers and Resources is the Soviet GOAT!
Ssssooooo close to that 100K subs!!!!
So close!
so close.... Come on tato!

Can I suggest Ostriv deserves at least an honorable mention even though it's in lone-dev eternal EA?
Absolutely!
Are we looking at a return to Potatograd and a new W&R series in 2025 mr. Potato?
Yes, confirmed. Heard it here first.
Good thing you didn't add Cities Skylines 2
Came out in 2023! Also not very good!
How about Endzone 2? Is it not good enough to be in the top 10 list?
See: Colony Sims video!
Workers and Ressources still needs a lot of polishing. In it's current state it's not 1.0 ready.
I absolutely agree.
Where's Cities Skylines 2?
Came out last year, but is in a much better state after some good patches and mod support
Nah

It's still 2024.
Don’t worry , If any major city builders release before 2025 I’ll take this video down with my tail between my legs!
Workers and resources is a horrible game. Its UI is from 1980’s.
Hard disagree, one of the best games in recent years IMO! UI is brutalist (I think that’s the point), but perfectly fine but different strokes for different folks
That's the point
