I have been waiting for this since you mentioned it a few months ago. I bought the Hohem MT2 but I did not know about the Scorp Mini 2. My challenge with the MT2 was balancing the tilt axis with my compact cameras Sony RX100-VII and Sony 6300. Both of them are shorter than the Sony A7, so the centre of gravity is low and the slider will no go high enough, so I bought a SmallRig adaptor that raises the 1/4 in connector.
Thank you very much for living your experience. I had to do the same thing with other gimbals. It is quite common actually. If you have a camera which needs more weight, do you have to do that

I had ordered the Hohem iSteady M6 Kit which will be here Friday but after seeing the stability of the Feiyu SCORP Mini 2 and the fact that it will also work with other cameras not just my iPhone 15 Pro Max I am considering returning the M6 and ordering the Mini 2. The price point isn’t that different and the Mini 2 seems easier to operate as well. Your view and opinion would be greatly appreciated here. 😊❤ Update! I also noticed online (Amazon) that the Mini 2 has custom framing now when tracking! Firmware update maybe?😊

Feiyu Scorp Mini 2 is most stable, best sensor and most User friendly app. But Unfortunately not available in my country which is Pakistan. Anyways good informative video and Nice Family.
Very good review! Thanks a lot, Zdenka. I have a Sony ZVe10 and a Samsung Galaxy S10. And I'm hesitating between Feyu Scorp mini 2 and Zhiyun Crane M2S (and not the M3S, a little expensive for me). But the design and the “double handle” of the Scorp Mini 2 appeal to me. AI tracking is a plus, but not the most important thing for me, although I would definitely use it if I had it. Over time, and after spending hours watching a lot of tests, the Scorp Mini 2 has moved into pole position... What do you think?
Just received my scorp mini 2. It's really great. Very intuitive and excellent ergonomics. Only complaints would be the payload is small, and the 2 apps should be combined into one. Would be great if they extended support to more camera systems and action cams. They only support go pro connectivity but I use new ace pro. Also I'm struggling to update the firmware, doesn't work on the two apps no matter what I try. Lastly the counterweight you see in all the reviews is no longer included in the kit which is a bit disappointing.

Nowadays, which one do you use the most? I'm really torn between the Hohem and the Scorp. I really like the AI features you mentioned on the Hohem, but the better stabilization on the Scorp is obviously a good thing. I use a Canon R8 and a Samsung Ultra 24, if that helps to give some context. I'm really paralyzed deciding which of them is the best option.

Thank you for the test, so you can decide between the 3. I have an old Hohem +. One of the things that bothered me, there was never any update. In these three that you tested, Have you had any firmware updates? . Another question is, it's worth noting that two brands sell the engines if necessary.

Which Gimble would you suggest for using with a phone camera cage and addon lens. Most of the mobile phone ones just wont open wide enough for the cage or the weight of the phone and cage is to heavy for it.
I'm so confused So initially i was considering buying pocket 3 but after many research thought of accompanying my s24 ultra with gimbal rather than buying pocket 3. After considering many compact gimbal that serves my purpose of carry everywhere and just vlog, I ended up with insta 360 flow, but your video of mobile gimbal convinced me for hohem m6 kit. While buying m6 kit at the store, they tried selling me Hohem MT2 kit as they don't have m6. Now I'm in dilemma on which one to go for. I am also having Nikon z6 with 28-75mm f 2.8 amd 85mm f1.8. Which one should i pick? Insta360 flow ( compact) M6 kit (best for phone) Then one of these products in the video ( if this then which one?)
If you are not happy with the Insta360 go, I need something stronger then M6 is simple. MT2 is complicated to only use it with a smart phone. If you really wants to use it also with your big cameras then it makes sense otherwise I would not get that.

I don’t understand how to use a mic with Hohem because there is no room for the receiver. If I position the mare in a different way, it is unusual and makes different footage. Can you recommend any gimbal with AI and the ability to use mic? Also, I need a button to quickly go vertical. Like with DJI4.

I just won the scorp mini 2 for 50$ in an auction I go pick it up tomorrow I'm super excited, I currently use the weebill s and the trigger is broken and the locks don't lock I won it from the same auction for 60$ I doubt I'll use my phone with it but I will be using my a6400 great review
I'd go for Hohem but all these gimbals look really huge in your hand. They're also pretty attention grabbing, something I'm not looking for as I vlog on my phone. But all are great looking and eye candy for me the gear bunny. Happy new year Zdenka.
And I totally agree with you. If you’re only filming with your phone, you don’t need to have three in one gimbal. Something as DJI I M6 or Hohem iSteady m6 should be enough

Gimbals is needdd for long shots and controlled shots. It is hard to keep horizon perfectly straight as you walk…, you can only control shutter button in Blackmagic

Hi Zdenka, I an noob in gimbals until some months ago when take in hand the Freefly Movi Cinema robot. About the Freefly, works well only when is figured out the balancing which is an stressful issue. The Freefly is limited for smartphones, so I write you because I see the presentation video isn't long time ago and is presented Feiyu Scorp Mini 2. Well I am confused because there are other similar such as Mini 3 and other Scorp Mini. Why have you chosen for Mini 2 and not the other Scorp Mini? To end, I like to be busy with construction building rigs but the big issue of my concern is stabilization for old camcorder HDC-SD90 and iPhone SE2020. As I am just an beginner in the Gimbal or stabilization world is it emportent that the Gimbal is technical not to complicated. I was after few time able to figured out the settings of the Freefly. Thanks that you are there to share your talent with us, you are amazing. Small sideways question, Have build big video rig that is placed on an big video tripod that can hold at least 12 kg. I searched me crazy to find an gimbal with no long hand grip, meaning an short basic connection with an 1/4 inch or 3/8 inch tripod screw possibility. Found the Modular Manfrotto but the base is long. The Moza Aircross 3 seem workable in case the arm grip is setting op 90°. Pity that I am not able to share photos, it would be easier to understand what I with limited English trying to explain. Note: The Mini 2 is small, it will perhaps be place able on the selfmade rig. This is exactly what I was looking for! I've had my Osmo6 for a year and only just recently did I realize you cannot use the tracking with while live streaming on YT.😠
Yes unfortunately that one doesn't allow it. I am not sure when the Osmo 7 will come out.. some people are predicting any time now but who knows if it will have tracking... Hohem isteady M6 is only for smartphones and that one has that feature.

Hello, is mt2 compatible with dji osmo action 4? Can it control the gimbal with bt, wifi or cable? They don't mention it in every video. Which of the M6 or MT2 gimbals is sufficient with the DJI osmo action 4 and the Samsung Galaxy S21 FE phone? Is the MT2 unnecessary?

I had the Zhiyun M2 - really light and like it for what it was, but app sucked and build quality suffered ( battery and buttons). Most likely the M3s is similar, but with bigger motors with new looks. Hohem MT2 - I currently have and is really well featured, it has many good features for self filmed creators, but really suffers for quality issues, not durable, and stability while moving suffers. I recommend the hohem MT2 if you film yourself all the time the Ai features are amazing, and not on the move often. If you don't need the Ai, I still go with DJI gimbals personally.
I make videos in outdoor dusty enviornment cutting trees, doing logging and tractor work. I am looking for a gimbal to track me, it would be on a tripod always and the range of tracking us very important, further the better. Thoughts or suggestion?

After my last comment on your dedicated Scorp mini 2 review that literally 30 mins ago I ordered it from Amazon. I am awaiting the Sony zv-e10 mark ii to come out then putting my Sony Xperia 1 V on-top of the camera and using the phone as a monitor plus live streaming device for the camera. Be interesting to see how the Scorp mini 2 handles that.
Ahoj Prosím chcel by som poprosiť o radu. Mám Feiyou tech vimble. Bohužiaľ už som ho dával 2x reklamovať na motory používam ho len s iPhone. Mal som požičaný DJI Osmo Mobile ale tam my nevyhovovalo chovanie gimbalu z hľadiska natáčania z nízkej výšky do vyššej ako sa gimbal vždy preklopil preto som sa rozhodol hľadať nový. Rozmýšľam nad Feiyoutech Scorp 2mini (ale mám obavu z predchádzajúcej skúsenosti s touto značkou) páči sa mi ergonómia držania alebo Zhiun. Plánujem natáčať stále na iPhone potrebu večšej kamery zatiaľ nemám. Dokážeš mi prosím poradiť čo by bola pre mna lepšia voľba. Ďakujem
Tak v tomto případě bych vzala Hohem isteady M6. Silný motor funguje perfektně a je to jednoduché. Tyto stabilizátory v tomto videu jsou dost složité a jsou hlavně pro větší kamery

Chcel by som sa opytat ktory je z hladiska pouzivania lepsi a pre ktory by si sa rozhodla. Moja priorita je rozsah pohybov a praktickost. Pri M6 sa mi paci moznost rychlo otocit orientaciu vyska/sirka. Pri MT2 sa mi paci uzamykanie motorov a rozsah pohybu pri natacani na vysku. Vyzera ze clovek nezavadi o mobil ak prejde s ruckou prilis hore. Ani jeden som ale nemal moznost drzat v ruke. Kedze ty s nimi aktivne pracujes, ktory by bol tvoj favorit? Dakujem pekne

I would go with Zhihun. They have a distribution network here in the UK; I can walk into my local camera store & buy one off the shelf, and their tech support seems good. Things like regular firmware updates is a plus, too.
Crane M3S: Has anyone been successful with controlling aperture or ISO through the user interface on the M3S by using the usb-C cable on a camera (tried with a Canon RP) as Zhiyun states works with Crane M3S on their support website? I can’t find any how-to info or see any settings on the M3S display about this. Just being able to get the shutter (start/stop) to work…
My bad. I realize that reading the manual from time to time actually helps! 😂 I found it by just scrolling in the scroll wheel settings and can choose one of the functions. Incl. electronic focus which surprised me works! So now I have both the M3S and the SCORP Mini 2 because of you @ZdenkaDarula! Having too many gimbals thanks to you! 😂🎉
Hi, great review, really nice to see so detailed a comparison. One thing I have never seen though is any comments on the corporate social responsibility stances of these companies. I get that the tech is the most important question for most people, but say you were undecided between Hohem and Feyutech, for me, if i thought one had a better ethical policy that would be a clear decider. I have even written to insta360 and feyutech to ask their policy.... no meaningful response. I guess we just have to assume they are all equally crap when it comes to the environment, labour practices and the minerals are probably coming from war zones. I wonder if you have any insight?
Hi Zdenka, great video!! Just got a Scorp Mini 2 after watching it, but I'm having a little trouble balancing a s23 ultra with a freewell anamorphic lens, any tips?
@@ZdenkaDarula Thanks for replying. So with the anamorphic lens on the phone it gets a little side and top heavy, so when I try to balance the up and down tilt axis with the lens facing the ceiling, it doesn't balance. And with the roll axis is the same problem, the left side since it has the anamorphic lens, ends up being too heavy so even when I max out the gimbal to the right it's still not enough. Like if I turn it on it does manage to balance, but I'm afraid of it overworking the motors since it's not perfectly balancing.

Oh, you are far off.. I cannot give you the best gimbal because if you have Android chances are that the gimbal is not gonna work with your phone. You have to choose gimbal according to your phone model and what do you need and what you film.., these type of comments, only spread his information
If you listen in the video, you have to find out what is compatible with your phone you have. Then you have to think if you need beginners gimbal or you are capable of handling something which is more advanced.. this is the reason I cannot tell you what gimbal is the best.., if you are brand new, go with the beginner, friendly gimbal and then check compatibility if your phone is good for this product

Hm.. I wonder if you can stretch counter weights… they sell them.., the port there allows you to screw anything into it

Which Gimble would you suggest for using with a phone camera cage and addon lens. Most of the mobile phone ones just wont open wide enough for the cage or the weight of the phone and cage is to heavy for it.
All 3 can handle that no problem.. there is no difference
I'm so confused
So initially i was considering buying pocket 3 but after many research thought of accompanying my s24 ultra with gimbal rather than buying pocket 3.
After considering many compact gimbal that serves my purpose of carry everywhere and just vlog, I ended up with insta 360 flow, but your video of mobile gimbal convinced me for hohem m6 kit. While buying m6 kit at the store, they tried selling me Hohem MT2 kit as they don't have m6. Now I'm in dilemma on which one to go for. I am also having Nikon z6 with 28-75mm f 2.8 amd 85mm f1.8.
Which one should i pick?
Insta360 flow ( compact)
M6 kit (best for phone)
Then one of these products in the video ( if this then which one?)
If you are not happy with the Insta360 go, I need something stronger then M6 is simple. MT2 is complicated to only use it with a smart phone. If you really wants to use it also with your big cameras then it makes sense otherwise I would not get that.

Can you remember if you heard any quiet high frequency sounds (like coil whine) while rotating the multifunctional knob? I am just trying to find out whether it’s a normal behavior of the gimbal or not.
Hm… you should not be hearing those sounds. I would check if there is no issue with the gimbal … contact the seller

I need AI tracking. This is a must.
I don’t understand how to use a mic with Hohem because there is no room for the receiver. If I position the mare in a different way, it is unusual and makes different footage.
Can you recommend any gimbal with AI and the ability to use mic? Also, I need a button to quickly go vertical. Like with DJI4.
You are very welcome. Unfortunately, there is not really another gimbal with AI tracking like that.

I just won the scorp mini 2 for 50$ in an auction I go pick it up tomorrow I'm super excited, I currently use the weebill s and the trigger is broken and the locks don't lock I won it from the same auction for 60$ I doubt I'll use my phone with it but I will be using my a6400 great review

I'd go for Hohem but all these gimbals look really huge in your hand. They're also pretty attention grabbing, something I'm not looking for as I vlog on my phone. But all are great looking and eye candy for me the gear bunny. Happy new year Zdenka.
And I totally agree with you. If you’re only filming with your phone, you don’t need to have three in one gimbal. Something as DJI I M6 or Hohem iSteady m6 should be enough
Not sure if I missed you mentioning the Feiyu SCORP Mini 2 can you film with the blackmagic app for the iPhone 15 pro max? And I also see people using smallrig cages with a setup because iPhone has good stability in camera is a gimble still needed? Gimbals is needdd for long shots and controlled shots. It is hard to keep horizon perfectly straight as you walk…, you can only control shutter button in Blackmagic

Hi Zdenka, I an noob in gimbals until some months ago when take in hand the Freefly Movi Cinema robot. About the Freefly, works well only when is figured out the balancing which is an stressful issue. The Freefly is limited for smartphones, so I write you because I see the presentation video isn't long time ago and is presented Feiyu Scorp Mini 2. Well I am confused because there are other similar such as Mini 3 and other Scorp Mini. Why have you chosen for Mini 2 and not the other Scorp Mini?
To end, I like to be busy with construction building rigs but the big issue of my concern is stabilization for old camcorder HDC-SD90 and iPhone SE2020.
As I am just an beginner in the Gimbal or stabilization world is it emportent that the Gimbal is technical not to complicated. I was after few time able to figured out the settings of the Freefly.

Small sideways question, Have build big video rig that is placed on an big video tripod that can hold at least 12 kg. I searched me crazy to find an gimbal with no long hand grip, meaning an short basic connection with an 1/4 inch or 3/8 inch tripod screw possibility. Found the Modular Manfrotto but the base is long. The Moza Aircross 3 seem workable in case the arm grip is setting op 90°. Pity that I am not able to share photos, it would be easier to understand what I with limited English trying to explain.
Note: The Mini 2 is small, it will perhaps be place able on the selfmade rig.

Yes unfortunately that one doesn't allow it. I am not sure when the Osmo 7 will come out.. some people are predicting any time now but who knows if it will have tracking... Hohem isteady M6 is only for smartphones and that one has that feature.

I had the Zhiyun M2 - really light and like it for what it was, but app sucked and build quality suffered ( battery and buttons). Most likely the M3s is similar, but with bigger motors with new looks.
Hohem MT2 - I currently have and is really well featured, it has many good features for self filmed creators, but really suffers for quality issues, not durable, and stability while moving suffers.
I recommend the hohem MT2 if you film yourself all the time the Ai features are amazing, and not on the move often.
If you don't need the Ai, I still go with DJI gimbals personally.

I make videos in outdoor dusty enviornment cutting trees, doing logging and tractor work. I am looking for a gimbal to track me, it would be on a tripod always and the range of tracking us very important, further the better. Thoughts or suggestion?
Right now the best tracking is insta360 flow…. However, none of those gimbal are built for tough dusty environments.
@ZdenkaDarula thank you, I watched a bunch of videos on the mt2, figured if I bought the ins/warranty on it I could replace it if it stopped working, from what I saw the range seemed to be the best. Can't say for sure as my info is all 2nd hand.
After my last comment on your dedicated Scorp mini 2 review that literally 30 mins ago I ordered it from Amazon. I am awaiting the Sony zv-e10 mark ii to come out then putting my Sony Xperia 1 V on-top of the camera and using the phone as a monitor plus live streaming device for the camera. Be interesting to see how the Scorp mini 2 handles that.

Prosím chcel by som poprosiť o radu. Mám Feiyou tech vimble. Bohužiaľ už som ho dával 2x reklamovať na motory používam ho len s iPhone. Mal som požičaný DJI Osmo Mobile ale tam my nevyhovovalo chovanie gimbalu z hľadiska natáčania z nízkej výšky do vyššej ako sa gimbal vždy preklopil preto som sa rozhodol hľadať nový.
Rozmýšľam nad Feiyoutech Scorp 2mini (ale mám obavu z predchádzajúcej skúsenosti s touto značkou) páči sa mi ergonómia držania alebo Zhiun. Plánujem natáčať stále na iPhone potrebu večšej kamery zatiaľ nemám.
Dokážeš mi prosím poradiť čo by bola pre mna lepšia voľba.

Tak v tomto případě bych vzala Hohem isteady M6. Silný motor funguje perfektně a je to jednoduché. Tyto stabilizátory v tomto videu jsou dost složité a jsou hlavně pro větší kamery

Ahoj Zdenka, dalsie super porovnanie. Chcel by som sa opytat ohladom Hohem MT2 kit. Chcel by som natacat na mobil a planoval som kupit isteady M6 ale momentalne je MT2 kit za velmi dobru cenu. Chcel by som sa opytat ktory je z hladiska pouzivania lepsi a pre ktory by si sa rozhodla. Moja priorita je rozsah pohybov a praktickost. Pri M6 sa mi paci moznost rychlo otocit orientaciu vyska/sirka. Pri MT2 sa mi paci uzamykanie motorov a rozsah pohybu pri natacani na vysku. Vyzera ze clovek nezavadi o mobil ak prejde s ruckou prilis hore. Ani jeden som ale nemal moznost drzat v ruke. Kedze ty s nimi aktivne pracujes, ktory by bol tvoj favorit? Dakujem pekne

I would go with Zhihun. They have a distribution network here in the UK; I can walk into my local camera store & buy one off the shelf, and their tech support seems good. Things like regular firmware updates is a plus, too.

Crane M3S: Has anyone been successful with controlling aperture or ISO through the user interface on the M3S by using the usb-C cable on a camera (tried with a Canon RP) as Zhiyun states works with Crane M3S on their support website? I can’t find any how-to info or see any settings on the M3S display about this. Just being able to get the shutter (start/stop) to work…

I found it by just scrolling in the scroll wheel settings and can choose one of the functions. Incl. electronic focus which surprised me works!
So now I have both the M3S and the SCORP Mini 2 because of you @ZdenkaDarula! Having too many gimbals thanks to you! 😂🎉

Hi, great review, really nice to see so detailed a comparison. One thing I have never seen though is any comments on the corporate social responsibility stances of these companies. I get that the tech is the most important question for most people, but say you were undecided between Hohem and Feyutech, for me, if i thought one had a better ethical policy that would be a clear decider. I have even written to insta360 and feyutech to ask their policy.... no meaningful response. I guess we just have to assume they are all equally crap when it comes to the environment, labour practices and the minerals are probably coming from war zones. I wonder if you have any insight?

Just got a Scorp Mini 2 after watching it, but I'm having a little trouble balancing a s23 ultra with a freewell anamorphic lens, any tips?
I would have to see what you’re doing.. you have to really take your time and adjust each step well
@@ZdenkaDarula Thanks for replying. So with the anamorphic lens on the phone it gets a little side and top heavy, so when I try to balance the up and down tilt axis with the lens facing the ceiling, it doesn't balance. And with the roll axis is the same problem, the left side since it has the anamorphic lens, ends up being too heavy so even when I max out the gimbal to the right it's still not enough. Like if I turn it on it does manage to balance, but I'm afraid of it overworking the motors since it's not perfectly balancing.

Oh, you are far off.. I cannot give you the best gimbal because if you have Android chances are that the gimbal is not gonna work with your phone. You have to choose gimbal according to your phone model and what do you need and what you film.., these type of comments, only spread his information

If you listen in the video, you have to find out what is compatible with your phone you have. Then you have to think if you need beginners gimbal or you are capable of handling something which is more advanced.. this is the reason I cannot tell you what gimbal is the best.., if you are brand new, go with the beginner, friendly gimbal and then check compatibility if your phone is good for this product
