Good point. Either way, I'm having my senses and tastes broadened with some quality, contemporary music that I otherwise wouldn't have been exposed to.
Stephen really loves music and has always pushed for great musicians, especially hip-hop artists, since his days on the Colbert Report. He's a big fan of Chance the Rapper and Kendrick Lamar
He probably has good interns but I remember he picked up Pavement for a reunion concert and said he was a long time fan back during the Colbert report days. Also if I recall correctly his last episode of the Colbert report's outro played a cover of a neutral milk hotel track. He said that song has been very close to him when he thinks of loss. I feel like calling out those two non mainstream bands like that tells me he has a personal passion for music. No intern would have told him to do those things.
fucking noname gysy yoo...this performance is literally saturated with influences from gospel performances and just omg she's such a queen im so happy she go to to shine on this sho i hope sis will start getting the recognition she deserves!!! so underrated its a crime to by now
Yeah but they should have mixed her voice a bit louder. Her gentle delivery and diction get lost under thick instrumentation. Watching her first time, one might think she's a guest on her own songs. The girl is absolutely brilliant tho. The one who came to save hip hop from nasty toads like Cardi and Nicki.
Noname's music is really SO GOOD. I'm really happy that I discovered her with the first album "Telefone" and now "Room 25". These two albums are jewels. Not only because her voice, flow and lyrics are great but because the musicians play such an amazing music. Cheers to Noname and her band from France.
I am now 72 years of age and Noname still remains one of the most unappreciated artists of the last decade, she moves my soul and i wish the very best for her. Thankyou sainted youngun
This woman deserves the best, man. Her flow, the delivery and the lyrics. She’s a poet and let’s not forget to mention the band, it’s on point and the backing vocals, they deserve some recognition as well. Beautiful performance overall ❤️
Just to clarify, I don’t mean a man as in an actual male human .I say man at the end of sentences like “hey ,man. What’s going on.” yall need to chill hahaha.
oof, where have you been alll this time... telefone mannn, her first album and the last thing she dropped before her album room 25... go educate yourself cuz sis be going offff
@babyfacexjackie I here ya. I wish I had heard of her earlier and I'm definitely excited to go back through her older music! I listen to a ton of a different styles of music, so eventually I find music I love even if it's way after it came out. (I've got a particularly bad habit of listening to jazz and hip hop music way after it's passe.)
I'm actually crying after that no joke. Thank you so much, noname. I was very bummed to miss her at electric forest but I'm so amazed to see her perform this live 🙏❤️
I don't want that tbh, I like this small fanbase we have going on.. Noname is kinda like that sacred place in hip-hop where you go when you don't want to hear about booty butt cheeks... She's a safe place and if she becomes bigger I feel like everyone will ruin that
I LOVE NONAME SO MUCH!! she is such a musical genius and so underrated!!! i don't know how long people have been sleeping on her but it's been too long!!!
@@AnthonySherritt She performs like how spoken word poets perform their poems. But since she was performing to a different crowd, she was more mobile, and walked around a lot. I hope this helps.

Damn I am crying..... ik just so preordered of her I a huge fan we grew up in the same area and she gives me hope I’m glad that she found her way to music because this is what I need

One of the best albums of the year. She is phenomenal and deserves all the opportunities/ credit/ clout. She looks like she’s exactly where she belongs ❤️
She's fucking brilliant actually have no words saw her at reading truly memorable felt like I had seen a long awaited friend after listening so much for so long
This was terrific. you can tell she is giddy and happy to be getting the attention she rightfully deserves because Room 25 is a damn classic!!! If you guys would like to hear a similar artist check me out! - Justin Christopher.
OMG!!! This mad my SOUL happy! With all the negative images of women only being accustomed to degrading themselves, THIS is magnificent!!! I absolutely love her!!! Thank you so much NoName for existing!
props to Colbert for getting so many good/under-appreciated hip-hop artists on.
You can thank Jon Batiste, I guarantee you it's his influence to the fullest. He's got to be the one pushing these deep, black performers.
@@blazinchalice you're probably right. Jon Batiste is close to a lot of these artists too, and Stay Human normally help out.
Good point. Either way, I'm having my senses and tastes broadened with some quality, contemporary music that I otherwise wouldn't have been exposed to.
@@blazinchalice You know he had a diverse range of artists on Colbert Report, right?
I hope Saba Pivot makes and appearance on The Late Night Show With Stephen Colbert to perform some songs from his album Care For Me.
Oh her smile is just so great and perfect
She looks SO GOOD!
I was about to say that
She always looks good
Queen
lovelyMissInna WOOOOW
Doesn't she?? So cute!
How does Colbert get all the low key great artists? Hes got some smart young interns i bet
She was on with Chance before, so they know her from that

Yes, this music is a mood. Thank you, Late Show, for showcasing Noname.
Uncontrollable smiles x3
Chills down my spine x2
Heartbeats skipped x1
Noname is so damn good she might just kill me
Original Username I feel the same way. Goosebumps everywhere. I see myself in her
Damn. Noname killed this one. The Late Show always brings the best musical guests.

The one who came to save hip hop from nasty toads like Cardi and Nicki.
That 'thank you' at the end was so cute. I love her, Room 25 is one of my favorite albums of the year!
Kind of wish she sang Montego Bay, but it’s good to see her live
Its good that she has a wide range of good songs to perform.
Montego Bay is such a chill bop and it has energy
Ravyn Lenae works such magic with NoName it's unreal
Noname’s verse in montego bae is too dirty for tv though
“Somebody tell D’Angelo I need him on this one.”
IJ Rogers he’d be smart to get on too. Might give him a newer audience

Noname is greater than all the mainstream female rappers. Glad the world will finally see it.
Everybody knows but sometimes the mainstream is a little more entertaining. It's space for everybody tho noname gone get her time
