  • It's a rematch of the WPL Ohio Qualifier finals as Huffulufugus takes on EricICX, hosted by vandweller! In the best Round 1 match of all time, too many world records are set. We asked people to count them, and they are still finding more.
    Unfortunately, there were some audio issues on stream, adjusted in editing. This only affected the red bracket and was fixed in subsequent streams.

      Honestly itd be disappointing to not see epic killscreen comebacks if a linecap is too early. Maybe a better solution is to lock the scoring potential at lvl 30 but have no line cal, so playing killscreen aggressively is more rewarded and long comebacks are harder. It doesn't solve the Tournament Organizer's potential problem of infinite matches, but it would certainly help!

    I think that instead of a line cap at CTWC a score cap could have some potential. What if the main rule was like: first one to get a rollover takes the set. (Or double rollover if singles are to common). Could that work as a good rule? It makes it so games don't go on for too long and also adds some agression bc of the first to get it part

    • @KorZen10
      @KorZen10 Рік тому +1

      It could. Both a line and score cap would work; it would just be strategies that change between the two. I personally still prefer a line cap, but I can see a score cap being interesting, too.

      You literally can’t help that kids are really fucking good at Tetris? You can’t be serious right?
      How do you stop something from happening when its literally a battle of the BEST players to beat other BEST players and need a bigger score then them??? As the game evolves so do the players. How you can’t enjoy this 100% of the time baffles me.
      I want these games to never stop and rolling is going to make the games more exciting not less exciting because of “time”

    • @Rude_i_Wredne
      @Rude_i_Wredne Рік тому +6

      @@arod68993 no-cap games are what keeps us from seeing their true potential. Once you reach a certain level of skill, you can go until you fall asleep on the killscreen and it really doesn't matter whether you're slightly better, if your score technically will be as high as you want (and as game allows it to be, I believe it breaks around 100 mil).
      And I do believe that some players are really darn close to reaching that level, or perhaps even past it.
      Introducing some sort of a cap will allow those players to show skills beyond that level, forcing them to be more agressive on the killscreen.
      Personally I'm a proponent of a time cap, because unlike line cap, it will encourage to stack higher (to get more levels in before the 12min/15min mark), effectively making the game as fast as those players can handle.

    It’s unfortunate that speed doesn't increase past level 29. With speed increase, the difference in player’s skill would be obvious. Currently going for tetris past 29 is not worth it. Players need a constant challenge to push boundaries and improve their skills. I think current players are ready for higher speed in Tetris. Otherwise, this endurance game will level off all the players keeping them from their true potential!
