'Christian Nationalism' Sure Beats Progressive Globalism | Guest: Dr. Voddie Baucham | Ep 696

  • Today we're joined by Dr. Voddie Baucham, dean of theology at African Christian University in Zambia, to discuss the current state of the country and the topics of public schools, race, diversity, and Christian nationalism. First, with the midterm election coming up in two weeks, we look at how Christians can come to terms with where we've found ourselves as a nation in the midst of drag queen story hours and corporate CRT policies. We talk about the depravity of public school curriculum and the popular philosophy of sending kids to public school as "missionaries." We break down how CRT and race politics are merely about power and how the Left only wants diversity if it's ethnic diversity. Then, we dive into how "Christian nationalism" has become a trigger phrase for the Left and what it actually means.

I would encourage you to find a better teacher, there are many things he is wrong about from a theological perspective. I don't trust him but do your own study.
His Eschatology is completely backward and his view on Israel goes against Leviticus, 2 Chronicles, and many of Paul's letters.
He changes the meanings of definitions of words to fit his ideology. We talk about leftists redefining words well to me Dr. Bauchman is the Christian version of that.
What's sad for me to see is how unprepared American Christians are for 2023.
The Church is distracted by elections and "wokeness" and all these other cultural issues.
If there is an election then vote but it shouldn't take up more than half an hour of brain space. If you have kids in school and there's a drag story time or whatever then deal with it at the moment. But what boggles my mind is how much of a bubble Christians live in, in America how can Christians not see America is dead. It is collapsing, it will collapse and God won't stop it because He started it.
Tens of millions of Christians endorsed a leader in 2020 that proposed a satanic Middle East plan and now America is under judgment.
God removed Trump and replaced him with Biden. If that doesn't scream God's judgment on America I don't know what will.
      Daniel 2:20-21
20 Daniel answered and said: “Blessed be the name of God forever and ever, For wisdom and might are His.
21 And He changes the times and the seasons; He removes kings and raises up kings; He gives wisdom to the wise
And knowledge to those who have understanding."
America has far greater issues than transgender bathrooms and dragqueen storytime.
The nation is bankrupt, its currency will fail and the President is trying very hard to take the nation to war, wars it will lose.
The nation has 22 days of diesel fuel left before the supply runs out, how do you think that'll affect winter and food supplies?
      pjmedia.com/news-and-politics/ryanledendecker/2022/10/21/bidens-diesel-fuel-supply-crisis-could-soon-cripple-america-in-ways-never-before-seen-n1638814
Let's take a few economic and geopolitical issues from the last 100 years and see how right now in 2022 we are seeing ALL of them come together to collapse America.
      1930s Great Depression.
      1940's WW2
1960 Cold war/Cuban missile Crisis with Russia
      1970s-80's Massive inflation
1987 stock market 1-day collapse of 20% (still yet to come)
      1995's bond market collapse
      2000 Tech bubble
      2008 Great recession.
      2015 Europe debt sovereign crisis
2023 ALL of them at once. Here's the proof
      ua-cam.com/video/gvL6pBs5spg/v-deo.html
The threat of war with China. Chin vows to "re-unify" with Taiwan.
      justthenews.com/politics-policy/elections/chinese-leader-vows-reunify-taiwan-force-if-necessary
Biden commits the US to militarily aid Taiwan against China
      ua-cam.com/video/ptkR1WoRFTE/v-deo.html
We're seeing inflation as we did in 1980
      Bond Market collapse
      www.foxbusiness.com/markets/bond-market-crash-foreshadows-new-lows-us-stock-market-bofa-warns
Nasdaq is down 30% year to date
      The housing market is crashing
      nypost.com/2022/10/18/us-housing-market-in-free-fall-as-builder-confidence-suffers-disastrous-drop-economist/
Europe/UK debt crisis is astounding and very troublesome.
Do we live in fear? No. But we shouldn't live in ignorance either. It just bothers me how Christians debate whose doctrines are correct and yet completely ignore reality.
As a Christan, I show people biblically what is coming and why (if I know) I show how the Bible has given us the script. Now many argue with me about how my views are false teachings or whatever, but they're not wrong.
2023 is going to be the end of America. So if your hope is in a nation or in the god of America then your hope is misplaced. The God of the Bible is the God of Israel not the god of America and sadly Americans are going to learn that the hard way.
I wish I had better news but America is rotten to the core because no matter who you elect the government is a slave to other parties like the FED and the WEF, the UN, etc.
As the Bible says the borrower is a slave to the lender and America is in debt big time.

@@mbfrommb3699 I see your reply must've taken a lot of time so clearly it's something you're passionate about so thank you for spending time on that. Somehow you seemed to take my comment of praise on Dr. Baucham to mean that I'm ignorant to all those things you spoke of. I assure you I am not. So with respect I will not "find another teacher", as you suggested. There are few people that I look to for teaching that we agree on everything and that is certainly okay. We have the Holy Spirit for discernment and we are to test all spirits and ideology against the word of God. You may have a problem with his ideology, but there is nothing with his theology. Thank you for your seemingly genuine concern and links.

I was indoctrinated against my father’s conservative views in the early 60s in an otherwise great public school in Little Rock, Arkansas. What breaks my heart is that I know now my dad was right but I lost him in 1963. He had a heart attack and went to be with the Lord within a week. His devotion to my mom and me, his sacrifice and abnegation are still my source of financial stability in a crazy world. My mom was, as I now know, the most noble of women, but I can only try to live to show them that my values are now, though not then, very similar to theirs.

Thank you for having Voddie on your show. I'm wondering if you could do a show on how parents and families can support their children in the public school. There are many Christian teachers in the public school and there are many, many ways families can support us. We are not a lost cause, but parents need to be involved and vocal. Start with prayer and if your child is in the public school, you are still their first and most influential teacher. It is easy to be critical, but we must fight for our children. “Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves” (Matthew 10:16)

I wish I had homeschooled my kids from the start, but I didn't, which makes taking teens out that much harder. I homeschooled in the 20-21 school year because of the craziness in NY. my kids and I are actually traumatized so much that we all break out in a sweat when anyone mentions homeschooling. it was an awful year, and my kids ended up being behind because I had absolutely no idea what I was doing, and in that time, there was no one who would help me. it was expensive(I spent a good couple thousand dollars on curriculum, much of which we didn't use), and I felt defeated at the end of the year. we knew we wanted better for our kids than NY, so we moved to TN. I still wish I had started homeschooling from the start, but my kids' public school here is awesome, conservative, and allows the parents to make decisions about things. my kids are great kids whose faith is strong so far, and we have them immersed in the word and extremely involved in our theologically sound church. if I could afford $30k per year(I have 3 kids), I would send them to Christian school, but I don't, so here we are.

Your comment is very encouraging to me, as we are considering placing our son BACK in the public school system for next school year. I appreciate and admire Voddie Baucham, but I don't believe we should broadbrush all public school systems. In addition, if children are being consistently discipled at home and in a Gospel-preaching church, that is key. Again, it should not be assumed that public school is wrong for all Christian families.

Homeschooling does not cost that. I'm so sorry you didn't have support and were thrown into it that way. My kids are in umbrella schools (2 kids) for $1099 a year. I spend around $1500 a year for my kids but I use our tax return. There need to be tax breaks for homeschool parents (who are teachers). I am from TN and I know from experience and the friends I have that weren't homeschooled that it's in the schools there. If you ever choose to homeschool again, take some time to research! I know in 2020 no one had time, but it definitely shouldn't cost that. Simple is better ❤️

And I always hear folks say all aren't the same, it is. Public schools have one agenda. We cannot allow the world to teach and raise our precious children God has given us. I personally cannot imagine sending my babies to someone to teach all day.

@@2595chris Yes! A couple in our church lead Christian Montessori Fellowship. They now live in San Salvador and are allowed to train teachers here but are from San Antonio and have on-line courses. They are not cheap but they mainly want to spread the method as evangelization. One of the young ladies in our church is Russian and still has a grandmother in Russia. I think her parents live in Lithuania and she is married to a young local man so she also speaks Spanish. She is training with them but most of their students are already certified to teach in El Salvador. I volunteered and translated parent letters into Spanish so I can promise there is not a denominational curriculum, even though my friends are devout Christians, but the values taught are part of a Christian worldview of integrity and service before self. I’ll bet they would love to work with Dr. Baucham in teacher training.

This was a great podcast. I know many people that decided to homeschool and their kids followed the world rather than christianity. This is really a grief and so I think the knowledge that Satan is a roaring lion definitely has to be in parents hearts and minds and prayer needs to be big on the agenda whenever you raise kids. I homeschooled my kids up to 8th grade and never regretted it but I'm not positive that I would make people feel like they have to homeschool. It's a very difficult thing to wrestle with and a decision every family has to meet before God.

My then 5th grade bonus kid turned in a project that had scribbles and sentence fragments (I thought it was a rough draft) and got an A! I haven't actually listened to this interview yet.. I may catch it later; because it's very late here. But I just wanted to make a brief comment based on the title. I have a friend who is very liberal in her media choices, who is all worked up against the general concept of "Christian Nationalism", because it's so religious!?!? (Of course I think this expression certainly means different things to different people, as well.) But I made a brief comment to her that "what we have now" is "Secular Humanistic Nationalism"!!! And many people are tired of having "Secular Humanism" crammed down their proverbial, national throats, for way too long!! "Secular Humanism itself, has also, definitely been defined as a religion"!!!, (even if supposedly, for Establishment Clause purposes???) "So either way your getting a religious set of beliefs dominating the values and laws of the land!!" So just pick your preference.. and quit hyperventilating over whether it sounds like it's religious or not!! Just face the facts that it's all religious in some way!!... (And by the way; I don't know any sane or freedom loving person who wants to establish actual Federal and/or State run churches in America; because that is what the original settlers of this country came here to escape!!! Yet it's true that many of the beneficial laws of America were definitely based on Biblical "values"; like, it's illegal to steal, murder, lie in court etc, etc.,..And such valuable laws have benefited our society greatly!!! It's just an irrefutable fact...)
