Class of 1976. I fell in love with OU's campus from first sight,..it was lush and green, the town was cute and so walkable, there was no noticeable pollution. Everyone was so friendly. It is quite amazing, that back then,.....they were simpler times. Computers and cellphones didn't exist,....even getting TV stations to come in, was difficult. I think only one cable network existed. The topography of all the hills and valleys, made it difficult to bring in TV signals. The first computer game available to students to play with, was PONG. And one had to load quarters into the machines to play it,....the machines sat beside traditional pinball machines, ....oh and there was Foos-ball & air hockey tables. That was it, for idle distractions. I was lean, and fit enough to ride my bike around, on the streets & paths, as long as there wasn't a daunting hill along the way. We weren't allowed to have our cars down there, until our junior year. In the 1980s, long after I graduated, I purchased a motor scooter, and I think that would have been an ideal mode of transportation. But the notion of getting one, took tens years before the idea came to me. I wasn't immediately sure of what direction my studies would take me. At first I thought it was going to be in industrial arts,...leaning toward printing. After the first quarter it was obvious I needed to be in the Fine Arts department. It was a perfect fit, and there is where I grew and thrived. I earned my BFA in 1976, and graduated with honors, ( Cum Laude). I never wanted to move back home, in fact I stayed a couple summers, down there, because at the time one could rent an empty dorm room, while the dorm I would be reassigned to, in the Fall, was closed for the summer. The summer rental fees were cheap, less than renting an off campus suite, somewhere. One summer I stayed in Scott Quad, and other time I stayed in Howard Hall. Presently,....Howard Hall was torn down, in the early 1980s. And now, in July of 2022, Scott Quad is being leveled. Both were charming old dorms,.....with archaic interiors and accommodations.

This video is from before 2001 and literally nothing has changed except for the fact that 5 new dorms popped up on south green.

I can't believe I got accepted to study in this college, but was too chicken to even make an effort, unite the money and buy the plane ticket to go to the US to even see it in person :'( It was last year. Maybe I lost the chance already to go. Too bad, I'd love to go, if I was actually brave to travel and live alone.

@wwrjd1523 No this is Ohio University,Ohio STATE University Is Much MUCH Bigger and its a bitch to get in I spent nearly $400.000 of my own money to get in that damn College only so i can get into (COTC) Commissioned Officers Training Course in the marines but that was only step one on it the Real COTC is at Fort Leonard Wood.
There I spent 5 years there to become an Officer and by the time I graduated I started as 2nd Leutenant Now im a retired Lt.Colenel.
