- so i wrote this song on the last day of high school about the disillusionment that i felt leaving high school and the regret of not fully enjoying what i had when i had it. I think that all this crazy stuff with the coronavirus has definitely made everyone reflect on what they've taken for granted and what they wish they would've done different, so I thought it'd be fitting I post this. I also posted this video on TikTok and it astonished me how much love and support there was for my music. I really love what I do, and it makes me unbelievably happy to have support along the way. I'm working as hard as I can on my EP album, music videos, and other projects so look out for that soon! I'll also be posting more originals on my TikTok, UA-cam, Instagram, etc. ;)

I figure this comment section is a good place to share why it's relatable for me so much. I'm currently a high school graduate with 2 gap years. All my high school years were exhausting and liveless. I didn't make any memories except for summer breaks. I didn't take a picture for the yearbook and didn't go to the prom because i don't feel like it's fair to leave a memory of me in the place and time i never truly lived. I'm trying to get into college for the third time now because i didn't get enough financial aid before. I'm mentally drained and my health is getting worse because of the neverending last 3 years stress. I know what i want to do in life, like filmmaking and art, but I'm too scared to pursue them because everyone is convincing me i won't make a living off them. On top of that there is another HUGE problem that make it all 100 times worse, and i can't really do much with it. The stakes are high. At the same time i don't socialize much and i feel like I'm just wasting my best years. This month was the second birthday i felt like i was living a groundhog day. Like, maybe it's true for some, but isn't it true for everyone that the post high school graduation years are rarely more fulfilling than a crazy run for your future career, finding your identity, basically fighting for survival?
I only discovered Mad several hours ago thanks to Spotify short videos. I'm watching all his MVs now and I'm getting an immense amount of inspiration. I feel like I'm living again. I don't even know what is the feeling I'm getting from his art. Is it sadness, nostalgia, longing, inspiration, curiosity? What is this energy, this spark? It's absolutely unique.
