You really must be enjoying lego fortnite, I mean there is a lot of people uploading videos about simple glitches and tricks but you totally break the mechanics to make amazing things
Yeah true, building like this has made it even more fun.
Seeing stuff like this makes me realize why I wasn't a good engineer. I am the least creative person EVER! And creativity can be an important aspect when it comes to problem solving
lol, I am alright with the engineering but I know how you feel when it comes to creativity, I have never been an artistic person.
I'm not creative at all these videos are blowing my mind, I'm trying to build a mansion in a cave because I'm bored but pieces don't fit well
@@adamc.4665yes it can be a challenge at times to work within the limits of the terrain and build on angles. It does become a lot easier the more you do it. 👍

after your vid last week i adapted to pretty much what you showing here... ive built tunnels with sloping walls and floors, upsidedown lights... everything off stud whereever i want it.. this is the key to buildign freedom... .. also good for ramps, rocket launching platforms, leaning towers... this is just what i have done so far.. comment and post new ideas everyone

This is so innovative, I thought it was going to be a lot harder but with some practice I’ve got it working

I've been really enjoying Lego Fortnite, this was very helpful thank you! I made a makeshift hot air-balloon to get around my map and this is something I had in mind but never figured out how to do it.
You’re welcome, I use the balloon as well when exploring but between villages the monorail is great.

I don’t understand why everyone who builds a “monorail” type system doesn’t make them longer. I found a way around the 1000 meter “structure is too large “ situation and went all the way around my island. I built it in survival and is completely constructed from granite because wood is too weak. Currently it’s about 32,000 meters and I’ve harvested roughly 200,000 stone for the project. It’s all the way north,south,east and west and I’m putting in new sections now in areas I haven’t really been in yet. Has cut my travel time down 80%. I can go coast to coast in 15 minutes.
That sounds sweet, do you have a tutorial on how to do it. I had to make transition stations after the 1000m mark.

1:23 hey, in lego fortnite you can destroy buildings with your hands as easy as with a pickaxe
No, some types of materials can be destroyed with your hands but it takes more hits. How many depends on the material and which pick axe. Other materials like frost pine can only be destroyed with a stronger pick axe, even the common pick axe won’t break it.
@@GrindGeek Thank you, I saw you needed a one hit for most materials, it is the fact I was feeling I needed the same force 3 hits with the hand and wooden pickaxe, good week 😃

Thanks, How far did you get, I managed about 1050m but then I couldn’t attach anymore pieces so I had to build a transfer station to continue on.
@@GrindGeek 1100m, when I reached the length limit, I built a pillar to the ground, made a small gap, built a second pillar to the height of the track and continued building the track

This is really cool but i didn't quite understand how you formed the highway that was displayed in your intro and outro. Did you just build it over the monorail?
Not exactly, I did everything the same up until I had my first piece in the direction I wanted (6:18 min) and from there I just aimed off that piece and used large foundations and flooring to build the road. Let me know if you need some help. 👍
@@GrindGeek I cant find the materials you used to make the outer edge of your bridge did you have to buy it and if so what kit so i can look out for it?? please help
@@darthchuck1 I used the railing from the beach boulevard set because it is white and would stand out more in the thumbnail but you can use the grey railing from the free set as well. If you are going to buy something the beach boulevard kit is one of the better ones with lots of great prices and it’s in the store right now. 👍

ok im not sure, if my question is obsolete by now but....how do u make these kind of markers? cos the built one is only visible on the compass, or the map...so no hight :( is that kind of marker still a thing? which key is that? *g* Thx for answers :D
Hey, so I am on PlayStation so it is the left D-pad but if you play FN battle royal it is the same button/key for marking a location/item for your squad. I think it is middle mouse button for PC.
People keep in mind that you can not do any of this on console. Only PC players get all the mechanics and placement options in the game.

PC players definitely have some perks (I play on PC, while the rest of my family plays on Xbox), but the "perks" don't involve anything like this, and it's absolutely possible on console.
I build it like you do it. on the downward end, i could not place a pillar on the rail. on the half of the rail i could set it again.

Thanks so much I have built lots of ridiculously long and steep hills, I hit the limit on one I think it was around 1km, I was trying to cover 1.2km.
Today however it seems like it has been patched, the angled pieces just rise up out of the ground! any fixes to this?
Yeah, the limit is about 1km and then you have to start a new structure if you want to continue on. I just checked and I can still place angles and directions and my builds are fine. Is it effecting everything or just certain things?

why does my monorail cart fall through the tracks onto the ground when I activate it?
I think LF still has some glitches with vehicles, I have that happen sometimes on monorails that I haven’t messed with directions. I hear people are having their cars disappear too but that hasn’t happened to me yet.
@@GrindGeek coz the floors aren't meant to be that angle so to fix it put a foundation to support the car in case the floor goes wonky
Everytime I build a monorail like that, the rail breaks. How did you get yours not to break?
Hey, I haven’t had issues with the rail breaking so I’m not sure but I have noticed sometimes that once you change direction some connecting pieces may not line up exactly which may be causing a weak spot that the car breaks when it passes over. You might try replacing a a few of the sections that break with a stronger material like stone or frost pine flooring. Let me know if you need some help.

I can't get the damn switches to work I put one on 1 and one on 3, 1 turns all thrusters on the other one turns on 1 thruster
Did you use the wrench on the thrusters as well to change their channels?
@GrindGeek I thought the wrench only worked on the switch it took us 30 minutes to find out we can change the thrusters channels too lol
It works pretty well but I don't have the short pillars you put on both sides
@@adamc.4665 you won’t have the white one if you don’t have the beachside boulevard but under the railings there is a similar size brown small piece you can use that is a free part.

I can probably make a short video on the bridge structure. It is the same process from this video and then I slapped some foundations and railings on it.

@@mogammadadams297i end up with glitch pieces as well that don’t align just right but is guess when you twist the game dynamics in a way they aren’t supposed to work you are going to end up with a few issues.

Hey, you use the principles from this video to set the direction and angle and then I used Durr Burger floor for the pavement and white flooring from the beachy boulevard set for the white line.
@@GrindGeek damn looks like I’m gonna have to buy the beach house and durr burger sets
@@Twobit_ray you can still use free parts with castle flooring and dark wood for the lines. Sidewalk foundation pieces also make it look better.
How long did this take?
The bridge, a few hours, the technique for manipulating directions, way too long and still figuring things out 😁
