Just spent 40 minutes to find this band again after four years (forgot the name and the title of the song). Finally decided to type in "goth girl on guitar band handsome bassist". BOOM. Worked.
I cant stop listening to this song or watching her eyes . It keeps making me smile i dont know why . I also discovered fever ray that rides the same algorythem . Fancy that my two new favs.
Im listenting to this song for a few years now and still love it. Everybodys talking about the goth style but ..am i the only one who loves the little complicated rythm of the bassline i love how its played staccato And the little variation at the end kicks so much Without that bassline rythm the song wouldnt be that groovy in my opinion Im loving it :)
I love that after the first chorus, she looks at the camera with this sudden sad stare while everyone keeps playing; she’s saying all this with a smile on her face until this point, like she’s cocky with the idea that she already knew she and this other person won’t work out, but she’s actually really sad about how quickly she can tell
She’s her own person and that’s OK it’s basically like the 80s Futuristic it echo electric Rork basically in a way I don’t know how to describe it With a vampire vibes does that make sense
I don't know if you've ever heard of a singer named Emilie Autumn, but she's pretty big in the Goth scene and she does a little bit of everything (i.e. metal and rock, but also classical, jazz, new-age, folk, electronica, and even poetry).
God bless Matty for directing this video because tbh if he didn't show it off I would of carried on not knowing who this band were. But omg! What a masterpiece!! Her voice is stunning 😍 You can also deffo see some similarities to The 1975.... can we all take a moment to appreciate the neon pink room at the end? 🤔🙌🏽🙌🏽

Ah it all makes sense now sounded 1975 someone else confirmed and a factoid was revealed to further solidify good job everyone. Also the joy division Ian Curtis geetar is nice ❤

Damn sexy

Right?
2017 Pale Waves: "The 1975" vibes
2021 Pale Waves: "2000's Avril Lavigne/Michelle Branch" vibes
They toured opening for the 1975 so that should surprise no one. But I have to hope they won't follow Michelle Branch and go fake country.
Haha they were better with the 1975 sound
@@Phsjygsvgsghayh debatable
@@Phsjygsvgsghayh Not dissing the band, but it's weird their best song was produced by Matt Healy.

@Pureblooded Slytherin exactly
Just spent 40 minutes to find this band again after four years (forgot the name and the title of the song). Finally decided to type in "goth girl on guitar band handsome bassist". BOOM. Worked.
that "handsome bassist" typing was the key to find them, haha
Maybe UA-cam finally did a good job recommending this to me.

Same!1!
same, wow. I'm surprised.
Totally agree, pale waves is my favorite band now

I cant stop listening to this song or watching her eyes . It keeps making me smile i dont know why . I also discovered fever ray that rides the same algorythem . Fancy that my two new favs.
Wednesday Adams has grown into a beautiful young lady.
I'm pretty sure she would find televised romance too plebeian unless it took place on top of a bed of nails surrounded by broken glass xD
Lol!!!
Came here looking for an Adam's Family joke and succeeded.

Im confused whether the vocalist or the bassist is sexier

Bercasio Trio I’ll second that
The vocalist don't make sexy movements when playing.

Saw this a few years ago while in a loft bed in Kamakura, Japan.. was such a good video then and still is now.
Can't get this song out of my head.

You have my sympathies.
There's this one time at school, I listened to this 11 times while doing an assignment.
i love this chik. marry me

Should get out more.
Stop that kind of thinking you'll hurt yourself in the long run
Demn, I just discovered them and planning some of their songs in Spotify...and I am sad. 😭
So glad to hear that you regained your sight so recently, after being born blind.
to the ppl replying, you know that people have different tastes right???
I guess none of you realized how The Cure looked, and wrote some of the happiest songs of all time.
This! As soon as the song started, I was reminded of The Cure.
@@lillyofthenorth8798 Uhmm no?
The happy sound is an illusion 😂
.. I guess it’s interpretive..
but damn- if you really follow the lyrics.. tears start falling 🥺💔
The cure also wrote "The Hanging Garden" and "Killing an arab"
I hear no Cure only unapologetic unaware 1975 worship
素晴らしい!
憂いのあるメロディーと堅実なバックの演奏が良い!
Im listenting to this song for a few years now and still love it.
Everybodys talking about the goth style but ..am i the only one who loves the little complicated rythm of the bassline i love how its played
staccato
And the little variation at the end kicks so much
Without that bassline rythm the song wouldnt be that groovy in my opinion
Im loving it :)
The bass in this song slaps! (Well, OK, technically, it doesn't /slap/, but I assume you know what I meant...)
I personally love her makeup can she come do my makeup
lol..nerd 😜

I don't think its ripping off Theres a Honey at all ,they just got a consistent vibe
Thank YOU. Don't understand how a band can 'rip off' itself lol
Muncho Gracias!
exactly!!
thats not how a 'vibe' works. And they didn't rip off anyone. Just made a song with the same Chorus. But its okay, they're new.
Went to 5SOS concert and heard Pale Waves as an opener. Love love love!!!!
Wow bring back 90s-00s era!
80s. This sounds more like The 1975 and COIN to me.
Saw this band open for The 1975 here in Atlanta last year great show!!!!
Matty said he directed this so here I am🥺❤️👏🏻
Me too! This is so good! 💕

No wonder this gives the 1975 vibes

I love that after the first chorus, she looks at the camera with this sudden sad stare while everyone keeps playing; she’s saying all this with a smile on her face until this point, like she’s cocky with the idea that she already knew she and this other person won’t work out, but she’s actually really sad about how quickly she can tell
look at ole Matty getting his directing on
Love all the wave has to offer don't let anyone stop you from being amazing
Vocals heavenly, and beautiful singer. Shes so stunning
Jacey Turek vocals are bad and overproduced
TheOwl18 they are overproduced but if you dont like the sound why are you here
A Goth singing something other than metal or straight up rock?
*Yes please.*
She’s her own person and that’s OK it’s basically like the 80s Futuristic it echo electric Rork basically in a way I don’t know how to describe it With a vampire vibes does that make sense
generic pop
I fucking hate pop. This song sounds good.
First Wave Goth music was pretty poppy by today's standards, check out Siouxsie and the Banshees.
Her voice is stunning 😍
You can also deffo see some similarities to The 1975.... can we all take a moment to appreciate the neon pink room at the end? 🤔🙌🏽🙌🏽
An absolute fabulous tune.
Love this version. I wish it would have been on the album like this.
they made a mistake not having this song on the album, because the albums last for ages, and no one will listen the ep. ; /
I think I have replayed this song like 40 times already.

Not Goth at all tho
@@Volzotran I mean, yes the subculture is heavily based on music, but it's also a fashion subculture. Even if her style seems to be influenced by many alternative subcultures, the biggest influence I can see is both because of the makeup.
When Taylor Swift sang the lyrics "You would hide away and find your peace of mind with some Indie record that's much cooler than mine.", this is what she was talking about.
last time I was this early the 1975 was called Drive Like I Do.
HAHA, I love it! Brilliant quip.
Hilarious and original
LOL
Pardon but The 1975 and Drive Like I Do are two separate entities and The 1975 was always *The 1975*
The 1975 still sell Drive Like I Do shirts, brilliant.

Love the neon pink room lit up at the end on the top right, probably as a way to reference The 1975's involvement with their early work
UA-cam recommended this to me and I actually like it
That bass line is pretty sick.

Television Romance: You're not so heavenly
Cocktail Game everyone complains about how their songs sound so similar, but now that you point that out, i think they're all connected some how...
Abraham Pancake Mash yes same, it wasn't to hate on them, I love when songs are connected with each other
The 1975 does this with their songs too tho lol

the bass really stitches this song so well it'll rip the song apart if removed.
They have a few songs with really good bass. It makes me want to learn them all.
Just my opinion... I hear the drums more than anything.
