I used to love this song when I was in a toxic relationship myself. I understand every word she says here because that is exactly how I felt. This was a song about being manipulated by a boy, but she tries to justify her staying in the relationship by saying that she is actually using him too. But that is just her trying to get some control of the situation, so that she can tell herself that she is fine but inside she knows what this toxic relationship is doing to her. I am so glad she is free from Titanic now, and I had the courage to leave my abuser too. In the end, that's what matters.

I used to love this song when I was in a toxic relationship myself. I understand every word she says here because that is exactly how I felt. This was a song about being manipulated by a boy, but she tries to justify her staying in the relationship by saying that she is actually using him too. But that is just her trying to get some control of the situation, so that she can tell herself that she is fine but inside she knows what this toxic relationship is doing to her. I am so glad she is free from Titanic now, and I had the courage to leave my abuser too. In the end, that's what matters.
