I put mine (NMEDIAPC HTPC case) under the TV next to the cable box (now gone). The only reason I wanted a small case was to get it out of the way and under the TV, which is my gaming monitor too. It's been with me since Phenom II/GeForce 9600 all the way through today (2700x/1060). Minimalism is weird to me if you're just going to put it on your desk like in the video. But regardless, because I don't have a screamer because heat (and money) are issues, the best compliment I get on my PC is, "Where the heck is your computer?" and when I point below my TV, they're a little wowed since they expect a tower.

Unlike _a certain company_ which decided to throw away a component still very much widely in use, not many people use discs now so you can excuse removing the reader for the sake of minimalism. The Inside Out Mini Watercooler
Just an idea that I hope someone will do.
I've seen a lot of mini-ITX builds lately in these shoe box cases. And regardless of how plain and black these things all are, the case builds are often described as "refreshing" due to the lack of RGB. But the truth is, they are just small black boxes that completely get lost in whatever room they are in.
What I want to see is a build where you use one of these little black shoe boxes, but do a custom water cooled build where the tubes of the loop go outside of the case. Add lights where appropriate.
Usually, these small cases don't have enough room for custom loops anyway, so break through the walls and build your loop outside. You'd probably want to choose a case where each side of the box mounts independently on a frame so some of the sides can have tubes through them and some are for access to the internals.
To describe this idea a little more. Picture a small black box with water cooling tubes extending out of the sides of the case. Drill your own holes through the case and route the water loop as you need to up, out, over and around the outside of the case. Same thing with custom RGB lighting either using strips or placing lights near where the water tubes exit/enter the case.
In this way, the small black shoebox becomes a plain base for what could be a dramatic water and light show.
    What do you think?

I love small form factor pc's. I used to build custom pcs with glass side panels, leds and whatnot but the pc was always ending up tucked away around my desk and I never cared about looking at the pc. In 2011 I bought an alienware x51 and that pc was rock solid for 7 years. I did have to change gpu once and I was ready to do it again after 7 years but wanted to upgrade to new cpu, ram and nvme drives. Ended up with cyberpowerpc's zeus II. Bigger than the x51 but it does have 1 gig nvme, i7-9700k and a 1080 card. Runs everything 1440p on ultra without any hiccup.

I don't consider this case truly compact. In the past Linus used the A4-SFX and the SG13. The DA2 is 17L, it's hardly SFF. The NCase M1 is considerably smaller and can actually cool better, at the very least use that. The whole point of this series has been insane power in as small a package as possible, this breaks from that.

I doubt I'll ever go larger! Only wish it had a front audio out.

I have a really nice usb/sd card/whatever one may need hub thing in my desk connected to my pc that I use for flash drives. other stuff is plugged in the back of my PC for clean cable management. As for audio jacks in general, I use a USB DAC so 3.5mm audio is irrelevant to me.

Are you serious? The diameter of the connector is irrelevant lmao. There are USB DACs and mixers which have 3.5mm out, and every headset is 3.5mm with a 3.5 to 1/4" adapter, if that wasn't obvious enough.

For my mini-itx gaming rig that I built three years ago, I used a Cougar QBX case It was a pain to work with, especially for a first time builder, but the one advantage it had over this case was that the pass through for the power supply was on the top of the case. Disadvantage was that you had to install a power supply that had the port facing a specific direction (not to mention the shallow clearance for the graphics card). Still, I would recommend it... if this case wasn't available that is., since other than that it blows cougar's case out of the water.

The problem isn't so much the number of ports but the number of host controllers, motherboards generally only have 1, at best 2, so the device limit is much lower than you'd think because multiple device end points are required for each additional peripheral, including hubs themselves. This can be solved with an expansion card, only the more expensive ones have an actual root hub control chip per port though(you can multiply the price per chip), and that case doesn't have space for an expansion card after you install a dual slot gpu.
I do like seasonics hybrid power stuff though, silence is golden.
