- From Avatar: The Last Airbender, voice actors Michaela Jill Murphy, Cricket Leigh, Dante Basco, Grey Delisle, Greg Baldwin, and Jennie Kwan gave a panel along with bonus voice actor Janet Varney from The Legend of Korra. They talked about their roles, experiences, and answered fan questions.
Michaela Jill Murphy (also known as Jessie Flowers) is Toph in Avatar: The Last Airbender, but is also known for roles in Meet the Robinsons, Finding Nemo, Stalgia, The Ant Bully, The Legend of Korra, Camp WWE, and more.
Cricket Leigh plays Mai in Avatar: The Last Airbender, and is also known for Red Faction II, Celebrity Deathmatch, Terra, Need for Speed: Underground 2, Saints Row 2, Fixing Rhonda, and more.
Dante Basco is Prince Zuko in Avatar: The Last Airbender, and is known also for The Legend of Korra, Hook, Star Wars: Rebels, Star Wars Galaxy of Adventures, Camp Camp, Artificial, and more. He co-hosts the Braving the Elements Podcast with Janet Varney.
Grey Delisle (aka Grey Griffin) portrays Azula in Avatar: The Last Airbender, and is also known for her roles in Scooby Doo, The Loud House, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, Bumblebee, Invincible, The Simpsons, Rugrats, The Loud House, and many more.
Greg Baldwin is the second Uncle Iroh in Avatar: The Last Airbender and is also known for Samurai Jack, Star Wars: The Clone Wars, The Fur is Gone, The Legend of Korra, Rainbow Six: Lockdown, Dungeons & Dragons: Dragonshard, and more.
Jennie Kwan portrays Suki in Avatar: The Last Airbender, but is also known for When They Cry, Tokko, Rozen Maiden, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba, .hack//G.U. Last Recode, Raya and the Last Dragon, The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf, High-Rise Invasion, Entourage, and many more. She has also appeared as Miss Saigon on Broadway.
Janet Varney is Korra in The Legend of Korra, and is also known for her work in Platonic, Harley Quinn, Country Comfort, Fortune Rookie, Take My Wife, Warehouse 13, and many more. She is the co-host of the Braving the Elements Podcast with Dante Basco.

Dante's voice does something to us all. Don't deny it

He has the most distinctive voice. I started watching part of this movie (I didn't know what Dante looked like at the time), and as soon as he spoke, I was like... ZUKO! Ofc I googled it just to make sure and I was. Some ppl just got that.

How respectful is Greg Baldwin??? What an incredible guy. Listening to him talk about Mako really brings tears to my eyes. It's a testament to the voice actors, the writers, the iconic characters, and storylines of this great anime that it can move so many of us.
Netflix, please reupload the new Avatar trailer in 4K, or even 8K AI upscaled, 1080p looks horrible on a TV.
I saw another video where he says he does an impression of Mako Iwamatsu. He always mentions Mako when saying he was the second voice of Iroh and I just love it.

Love Janet’s Dante impressions. Also very sweat how Janet and Jenny got so emotional and teary eyed hearing Greg tell the story about Mako’s daughter and grandson. And then, Toph’s VA should’ve said to Janet whenever she mentioned that Asami is hot, and asked for fun if they should fight over her, that “I already kicked your… in Korra, as an old lady, imagine me in my prime, I would’ve destroyed you”, doing her best old Toph impression.
Animation is not just for kids. There’s so much deepness written into avatar that goes over a kids head. I was 16-19 watching avatar. A little older than the demographic.
Also a lot of anime is totally not made for kids at all. Avatar reminds me more of anime than traditional kids cartoons

Yeah it goes beyond a kid's mind that's forsure im currently rewatching time about to start the episode "Jet"
it was designed for an audience of kids and teens and for the occasional adult walking past the TV. and it has something for everyone based on how well received it is. there are lessons in the show that a child could navigate with guidance and an example, which is what the show provided.
Found it at 33 and consider it one of my all time favorites. I don't typically watch media targeted toward younger demographics either (a few exceptions: Dark Crystal AoR, Ghibli works).
It came out when I was about 11 and all these years later, it’s still my favorite animated show ever. I rewatch the show every year or so for the past 15 years.
Korra's VA looks so nice and wholesome, it breaks my heart to know that she probably got a lot of underserved hate for the show :((

@@aboba7526 I love Korra and I love the show, I said that because I just recently discovered that for some reason some part of the fans hate the show and Korra and it breaks my heart to know people feel that way about the show, specially now knowing how sweet Janet Varney is.
@@aboba7526 some people were mad because her skin tone doesn't match the character she voices, to the point where she stated that she doesn't want to voice korra in the future. I don't think she got a lot of "hate" personally from people who thought the show sucked though.

Michaela actually has a really dope series on YT where she watches all of the episodes if you haven’t seen it! She’s a great personality and seems really nice and chill

Listening to Greg Baldwin talk about meeting Mako’s daughter and grandson and how they reacted to hearing him do the voice brought tears to my eyes.
They say that the first thing you forget about someone after they’re gone is their voice. So for Greg to give the gift of connecting the daughter and grandson to Mako again is very special.
Azula's VA never fails to flat out embarrass Dante w/some very suggestive comments about Zuko & Mai. I remember a panel where she just wouldn't stop. Dante said he was a Zuko & Katara shipper, but then said, "Mai's cool. If I was Zuko & I saw her at a club, I'd hol-luh at Mai", then Grey said something quite ronchy
& in this interview, the actress for Mai is literally right next to him & Azula's VA just said, "Little does she know he has a kink for broken teeth"😂

i honestly feel like janet varney might be one of the greatest persons alive on earth right now, just from watching her react in this panel... and also seeing/listening to her talk in other things, shows, and so on. so genuine and not afraid to show emotion at all. this woman seems like she gives the best hugs ever... also I like her watertribe inspired outfit. (and dantes fire nation one too :D)

Love Toph’s VA saying Asami’s hot, and Janet acting so Korra jealous like and saying “can I talk to you for a second”. Netflix should do Korra live action too, and do a few extra episodes showing the Korrasami moments from the turf wars comics.
The greatest series of all time
I was already an adult (27) when I got into ATLA… my son was 6 and my daughter was 2 when the show first came out. I fell in love with this show, and my son at the time, even though he didn’t totally understand it, he loved it. Both my children now are 24 and 20 and they’ve rewatched it and they understand it waaaay more.
I watched it as a young mom too. We have rewatched it multiple times and its been such a great experience. ❤

@@uriel5951 there are two novels written by FC.YEE about Avatar Kyoshi ! The first is the Rise of Kyoshi which explains the start of her Avatar journey and this continues into the Shadow of Kyoshi which is the second novel ! Would def recommend everyone to check them out !

Everyone on the panel is amazing and we love them, but I adore Grey and how much fun she has with Azula. She's completely opposite of Azula, but embraces the darkness of the character with glee. That is why Azula is one of my favorite characters.

Tales of Ba Sing Se was the first episode I saw. I was in high school and I thought the show was for kids. It was on tv and I was bored. Immediately hooked. ❤
The fact that almost all of the voice actors change their voices for the role, but Dante gives Zuko his natural voice, gives me even more goosebumps to hear him speak naturally
