The fact that Zuko started a tea company and it's named after his Hook character and not Uncle Iroh 🤣🤣
You were close with aardvark dogs! They're aardvark SLOTHS! That dragon scene is just so cool with the spiraling flames in different colors, the chants from the credits, and the dragons dancing with Zuko and Aang...all that combined is chef's kiss. When Aang gets given the flame to hold and says, “it’s like a little heartbeat” is a great moment of this journey to understand firebending as more than “the thing bad guys do”. I really feel like I understand the same thing he does in that moment.
My favorite thing about this episode is that through learning the true nature of Firebending, Zuko and Aang learn the Dancing Dragon form. Zuko saying "I understand" in that scene is one of the most beautiful scenes in that show. The entire Dancing Dragon form is based off the real life Long Ying Mo Kui, the traditional Southern Dragon kung-fu style. The key to unlocking the secret of Firebending was a dance. Remember in the Headband how no one in the Fire Nation knew how to dance, and actively tries to stop it from happening? Kind of poetic. Iroh not actually killing the last dragon goes to show you Iroh cares not only about humans but also wildlife as well. What a compassionate being that Zuko is lucky to have
Some people saying that Dragon... no. East Dragon are real. But the east dragon has shape shifting ability. So nobody would know that dragon exists.

After meeting the Firebending Masters, I think Zuko no longer does any of his angry grunting whenever he firebends.
I kinda wish he had a bit of that rainbow firebending as well, but still very cool.

In my head canon: during the final part of their Agni Kai, Azula and Zuko swap colors. The part when their fires are almost burning each other at the sides. Super Carlin Bros.(Ben) explains how Azula is the most PERFECT firebender. However, here Zuko and Aang learn the TRUE MEANING of firebending. Plus, Azula is having a mental breakdown, and I think that extra small detail would just add more fuel to her own mental fire.
Netflix could do this for the life action remake, I hope they are taking notes on Fan suggestions

I love that you guys are friends and hang out. It’s been so fun enjoying all the nostalgia, and everybody getting excited about Avatar again. I was in middle school when the show was on, and it was one of the only times my brothers and I would share the tv without arguing 😂😂 it all just makes me so happy 💜
What I always love about this episode is it shows that dancing is a key element to firebending. It puts the footloose episode from earlier in the season in a whole new perspective, showing how far the fire nation has strayed from the original source of firebending.

I definitelly agree with you both about rewatching the show. I grew up on the show and I rewatch it a few times a year as an adult, and every single time I learn something new, and gain a new perspective on life. Truely the best show ever created.
It is very amazing that we ATLA fans, had gotten to see the voice actors of Toph and Zuko reunite. The prince of the Fire Nation and the Blind Bandit, had finally gotten to go on their life changing adventure.
The reason the tea was so beautifully diverse in its colors was to reflect the moment Aang and Zuko are engulfed in the flames.

Dante is so much cooler than I thought! In the last bit of the video when he talks about history of the tea, I could hear him for hours without getting tired or distracted.

Dante's right for a while tea was a standardized currency in China along with horses as I understand it. A pressed tea cake called a bing is 357 g and 7 of those in a package is a tong and like ~20 of them was worth a horse and vice versa, And then that can be converted to gold.

The two most important lessons in Avatar are, Take the journey that is needed to find yourself annnnddd, Drink Plenty of Tea. Personally I like Green Tea, but not the hot kind. I like the cold refrigerated in the bottle kind. That's it.

At long last, after so many years, we finally get Toph and Zuko’s life changing adventure! LOL XD
This episode is one of my personal favorites of Book 3. When I was a kid, and they said there were two Firebending masters, I imagined they’d be these old guys with Dragon tattoos covering their bodies who were the last humans to be taught true firebending by the Dragons before they went extinct. I was blown away when they were revealed to be actual Dragons! 🐉 The Dragon Dance is one of my favorite scenes in the whole series. Watching Aang and Zuko perform it and the Dragons moving along with them was so captivating!
I’m a bit surprised with all the talk of Dragons in this episode, Dante never mentioned his time as Jake in Disney’s American Dragon: Jake Long (which coincidentally was airing the same time as ATLA was). X3

I love seeing Dante watching Avatar.
Little late but the ancient fire that is constantly kept lit is very reminiscent of aspects of the Zoroastrian religion that is still practiced in India and Iran. They also have temples with flames that have been kept lit for centuries.

I just want to say Hook with Robin Williams was and is still probably one of my favourite films of all time. It took me so long to find out that Dante Basco played the role of Rufio. RUFIO, RUFIO, RUFI... OOOOOOOOOOO! Love ya both from the avatar, Toph is my favourite avatar character.

Rooster. 1981. My mom's a dragon, 1952. Dad is a sheep, 1955. And my sister is a Rat, 1984. I don't know about me, but the rest of my family very much shows their respective zodiacs in their personalities. As to the episode itself, all i can think of with the dragons is the former Dueling Dragons coaster back in the OG days of Universal Studios Orlando, where one side was red, and one was blue. It makes this episode double nostalgic for me lol. Hi Dante!
