Nobody talks about this so thank you Alex. I use leather gloves but I am anxious to try the Kirkland gloves as I love their golf balls and the price is awesome.
I don’t have any proof of this but I’m pretty sure the Kirkland gloves are made in the same factory as Titleist gloves. They look and feel LITERALLY exactly like the Titleist Players gloves. Here in Canada we can pickup 4 Kirkland gloves for the same price as 1 Titleist Players. What a ripoff.
Thanks Alex for a great video on an important subject, that isn't discussed much. I use J Lindeburg and Adidas leather during the summer, Callaway Weatherspann during inclement weather. Keep up the great work.
Someone got me 2 Puma synthetic gloves for Xmas and I thought, ffs, hope I can get a refund ! Tried it on the range a few days later and was more than impressed. More comfort, better fit than any other major brand leather gloves I've tried, works in the wet and hard wearing. 2 for €10. Great value.
Last season I used Footjoy but I got a set of callaways from costco as a Xmas present so i will go with those this season. I use them on both hands…makes me feel my grip more secure.
@@AlexElliottGolf love the footjoy, like them very much. Can use them in every condition hot or cold. And they are cheap compare to other brands. Can’t go wrong with them
Great information Alex on what makes sense. A lot of us probably wear same glove all year round 🤣. But now I can see logic in what you are saying. It's opened up my eyes to thinking long and hard before buying glove off the shelf in Pro shop. Cheers bud 😊🏌️⛳☘️🇮🇪
Alex talking of gloves, how many people putt with there glove on, I do, it doesn’t feel good to me putting with my glove off, what do you do? Glove on or off when putting?
How quickly do you all go through gloves? I do have a super high swing speed but mine only last me like 5 rounds (with a short warm up) or 4 100 ball rage sessions. I usually buy like 10 at the golf expo before every season and they never last me the whole season 😂
I used to wear through a glove in one 18 hole round. I stopped using a glove and my game has improved and I no longer have to buy them. The only time I wear a glove is when it is raining, then I wear one on both hands.
@@AlexElliottGolf I totally understand it's not for everyone, but for me, it works. I use JumboMax Tour Series grips, small. Not sure if that has to do with it.
I tend to wear rain gloves a lot more where I live than leather gloves. My local climate is typically hot and sweaty, so the rain gloves last a LOT longer than the leather ones.
Good info Alex, wish you had talked about the wear on the palm and possibly how to go about correcting that problem which would have gone into how to grip the club but all in all good info - thanks
Would anyone be interested in a Cabretta Leather glove that would be half the price of the big brands while the same quality? Or do you need the big brand name to buy your glove in the future?
I'm lucky that I'm not much of a sweater and only go through 2 gloves per season. I use a "Mizuno Elite leather glove" $15.99 USD. I do have a wet set and winter set that have lasted years.
If you are playing in pouring rain and everything gets wet, you can use surgeon gloves! I got the tip from James Oh, a former PGA tour player. Works really good actually
Hi Alex, a great bit of advice. Thank you as it makes me feel better knowing that I’m at least on the same path as you when it comes to gloves. Living in Melbourne, we can get all 4 seasons in one day. Meaning a round of golf can go from one extreme to another. So, I’ve always got 3 pairs of gloves in my bag. The 100% leather is always my go to. When the weather changes, so do the gloves. My main problem is I have longer than average fingers and a larger than average palm. You know what they say about people with hands like mine (I also wear size 13 UK shoes) is that they (I) need bigger gloves…. 😜 👍😎🇦🇺
I have played with the same Mizuno glove since taking up golf in the summer, probably a dozen rounds...it’s only got minor wear on the palm. Am I doing something wrong?
I tend to use a hybrid glove. Problem is I struggle to keep the club in my fingers which are short, so end up wearing out the palm very quickly. Any suggestions?
Man... I blew my glove out the other day in the palm.. (yes, I know) but I lost all grip, spaces between my grip and club at the top, contact, finish. It left me looking like I had never hit a golf ball before. Hence, I'm here. That glove wore out after 1200 to 1400 range balls
Have you made any videos on hitting up on driver ? Thats the one thing i really want to learn with my driver, since i know im leaving some yards on the table And none of that - Tee it high and slight tilt :D Its really not that simple :) Atleast not for me
@@AlexElliottGolf That double tee drill will be something ill try next time im in the simulator for sure ! Im at 165-170 ball speed, but 2-3 down. Dont get me wrong, i can hit the ball fairly far, but i know that attack angle is costing me alot of yards because i tend to spin the ball a tad to much and launch it to low. I play a small fade, but wouldnt mind playing a small draw as i do with my irons Thanks for the drill !

Those weather soft gloves are also incredibly durable. For those who get alot of wear in the thumb and palm, they really help with that

Nice explanation on the gloves Alex and someone who struggles with the joints in winter, the bionic looks very 👍
Absolutely they are a great glove that is for sure

Living on the wet coast of Canada…rain gloves are a must, wish i knew not to use them dry…shredded my first pair
I started using Kirkland gloves a year ago and love them. I also use the Kirkland balls and find they go just as far and straight as Pro V1x.
Would be nice if Kirkland sold gloves for left handed players.
They do, but you might need to order online.
Great video. I have loads of gloves. No idea what they are but definitely have the wet gloves, invaluable!

Try searching for a glove as a lefty, there is very few options and most shops sell out very quickly.

I’ve had that exact leather cobra glove for almost a year now without any holes. I’m pretty impressed with it
I play a ton of golf as well I might add

Tried loads of gloves, currently trying the Kirkland and they are fine - 3 for about £15

do you have big or small hands? could be the size of th grip too that could affect this
I agree with Alex. It's not the glove. Likely either your clubs' grips or you need to work on how you hold it.
@@AlexElliottGolf I'd say medium hands. I have mid size grips which came as standard on my Cobra clubs. My fitting didn't include a grip fitting.

I have the same question. I have a leather glove in the bag but never wear it
I use any mid priced glove(small). I wonder what women with long nails use. I'm a male. Just wondering.
I don't wear a glove unless it's raining - just make sure my grips are good (Dri-tac).
Good info on tightness of fit. Hate a baggy glove. Also prefer one that is not killed and skinned prior to me wearing 😁 synthetic all the way!
The Kirkland gloves are the best value for my money. They are all leather, fit nice and tight, and last a long time. At $6.75 each they are a deal!!
i need to try these!
Me watching this after I already bought a golf glove
Literally
I buy mine at WALMART cheap and very durable, there's a lot of smaller companies that sell quality golf gloves. Don't always have to buy name brand.
That’s great!!! Be great to test this glove
I’m allergic to leather! Narrows down my options unfortunately
what glove do you wear?
