Scary thought: The section you start the game in is likely fully infested with Flood creatures by the time you end the level.
I wish we could have a reconnaissance like Cortana; it looks assuring, comforting, and fun to have an extra brain consistently talking to you and advising you.

That room with a million Hunters and shit is godawful. Cortana says "oh maybe you should sit this one out" but that doesn't work and there's a million fuel rod guys who are apparently completely invincible ready to blow you up a new one. And that's not even mentioning the Hunters.
yes it is, but the trick on that part is to attack the right enemies first and having the right weapon combo, which in this case is the fuel rod gun and the sword, get the laser sword out, run to where the white elites spawn, meele and granade each one of them then take cover before firing at the hunter on the middle of the room, if you did it correctly you will breeze through this fight and finally finish this god awful level
the cutscene with the gravemind is the best cutscene from any halo game
In my opinion, the Mausoleum part is a little bit too short, and if you're on a lower difficulty, you won't get to enjoy Blow Me Away/Breaking The Covenant as much as you should.
This is the first time that I realise the Chief entered the Mausoleum of the Arbiter, don't know how that passed by me
He was going to go back in 3 & fight Flood infected past Arbiters before it was cut.
Also Cortana had Chief fight Gravemind while piloting a Scarab?

Anyone else wondering how Arbiter wasn't infected by the flood when there's probably hundreds, if not millions of flood spores in the room that the gravemind is situated in?
One might imagine energy shield had an effect, though gravemind could simply have chosen not to since arbiter was more useful as himself
Gravemind needed Chief and Arbiter to find the index for him. Infecting them would have been a waste since they would be just another two combat forms and Tartarus would have activated Halo uninterrupted and destroyed everything.
This guy's so scared of fighting hunters on Normal. Lol...

As I said above, I'm scared of fighting them on normal. Even shooting them in their so called weak spot doesn't work and you're not going to take them on from the front so if you have a secret I'd like to hear it

the par time on this level is 20 minutes. I have been playing uninterrupted for 3 hours on normal and still can’t get passed all these elites. It’s situations like this that make me want to drop the series forever

@@otis9427 they suck. But one of those blaster things or a beam rifle makes short work of them.
Skill Issue
I just played through Halo 2 on the og Xbox on normal difficulty. This level in particular was a damn nightmare at times. Best thing you can do is, if possible, just run past enemies and go straight to the next door when entering a new area. Saved me some real headaches. Also anyone who completed this game on Legendary on the og xbox is a damn legend(pun intended)
The skyscrapers added in the anniversary edition were not needed. Makes it less alien and more human.
My favorite level of any Halo game ever. The level was long which I liked, the music, atmosphere, coloring, everything about the inside of High Charity felt grandiose.
i wish they did the same thing on Hunter The Reckoning and Midnight Club 1 & 2 and that is the remake

The reason I am watching this is cuz I kept running by the enemies and through the wrong door which turns out was where the rest of the level is stored but there were no enemies and eventually the game just broke

You skipped several encounters running through them and blindly ran toward the next door over and over. Lame.

Don't laugh, I've done it. When all you have is 29 rounds in each plasma rifle you do what you can. Still hasn't worked. I get killed about the third door
Give him a break tho, Gravemind is by far the worst designed level in Halo franchise, those fights are pretty pointless and just drag out the pain of playing this mission on a harder difficulty, just rush and end this level quickly, it's all that matters...

@Super Semechki yea man anyone can beat it but its just gonna take time. I basically had to play super defensive against the brutes. It felt like it was me vs a bunch of bosses but it was mad fun tho beating the whole halo 2 on legendary definitely felt like an accomplishment 😎

Man I'm not one to judge gameplay most of the time but you did this on normal and basically looked lost most of the time, all kinds of rookie mistakes made here
Yeah, if he looks rookie, I really look rookie. Because I am. I'm doing it on normal and getting my ass kicked where he just seems to breeze through it. Pisses me off
@@sbentjies Keep your head up man, we all start somewhere. I used to get my ass kicked on Normal difficulty too. Then with time I beat this game on Legendary, which was fuckin HELL. You'll get it man 👍
@@alphacraig2001 Thanks man. Apparently there's a lot more to get through this level than most. One guy said it was one of the harder levels in the whole franchise. Basically I'm stuck against the ( I think they're elites although they LOOK more like Brutes) and all I've got is a stupid pistol that the grunts carry. I've tried running and grabbing a plasma rifle off one of their dead, I've tried fancy footwork. It seems that no matter how I blast away at them they won't die (and yes I'm using the sights). I got tired of getting killed so much. I'd rather be up against Flood than them. I'll figure it out eventually

Blow Me Away was the electric guitar piece towards the end of the mission in the original Halo 2. It's been remastered and replaced in the Anniversary version.
Worst halo mission in the franchise
why? it's pretty fun, I just played it on Heroic. the only thing that makes it not fun is I was trying to save all the marines and they kept killing themselves, but if not for that it was fine

@@hi-fistereo8987 because it's badly designed, on legendary u can even die before you can regain control of chief after the intro scene, Halo 2's legendary is unfair but Gravemind takes the cake of bad level design + unbalanced difficulty

I'm scared of fighting Hunters on normal. I've tried shooting them in the exposed area in their back. No go. Got a better way to kill them?
@@sbentjies Depends of the level
- on outskirts you can use the machine gun on the second floor to take them out before they can fire at you
- on gravemind, the first hunters will be a pain because the room is too small to move around quickly, so be patient and try to grenade their back and shoot them at same time
- also on gravemind's final area (the brute vs elites encounter) the best choice is the fuel rod gun due to being able to damage the hunters without needing to aim at their weak spots, just aim at their torso and you will kill them in a few shots
