Well presented with very nice verbal audio enhances tutorial. Thank you for not ruining it with music. I like all your presentations as you very carefully elucidate and don't go too fast. Your disclaimer at end is important (as you cannot really make the rods thru machining, and the threads would never work in the real world as no tolerance would bind and lock). Outstanding presentation on how to model.
This worked for me when creating the Helical and Fillet.(Ben Taylor)"I increased the pitch of the thread to 3.25mm instead of 3mm. I was then able to use the 0.75mm fillet. No matter what size fillet I used (even went as low as 0.1mm) It still kept showing the same error message".
I have seen in the comments that, lot of you have faced issue while constructing the fillet for the thread. You can resolve it by choosing the "face fillet" option instead of " corner fillet ".
if you don't have 'twist along path' you should find a 'specify twist value' in Profile twist and 'Revolutions' in twist control. I'm using the solidworks 2019
Is there any way to "crush" or fold the spring? or any other object? And I don't mean the stress simulation, I really mean a way to animate objects like a spring to fold or something.
Hello, sir, you are doing great but there is a problem why are you not providing views of model means if you make any component please provide their dimensions so we can also practise by own.
Sir can you please make a video on how to make the spring in shock absorber compress and expand .... Learning from your videos is always awesome thanks sir
i could not do also the second fillet.i resolved the issue by selecting the fillet type:face fillet, and after that selecting the 2 faces between the edge that must be filleted
I am unable to fillet both the edges because it's saying there's an error in the loop, or it is intersecting. I've checked several time there's no error i made ecactly by following your steps. Still i'm unable to fillet. Help.
Sir please reply how to do animation for this just now I finished assembly it came very well ✌ thanks a lot for u sir please say how to do animation for this. Waiting for your reply sir 🙏🙏🙏
When I apply helix and click normal to there is a little protrusion but yours has no that one . I realize that when I try to place my triangle . It is placed little bit outside of pipe
16:47 Spring not work in solidwork 2024 ? spend a lot of time and cant find option menu in Sweap Like in the video "Twist along path" . i really need help .I'm stuck here
I made this project. It was wonderful. I have a question Do you have any tutorial to learn HSMworks or CAMworks? Finally Congratulations, You make nice tutorials.
Where can i get orthographic drawings of parts u design??? So i can practice myself.... rather than designing by watching video....plz suggest me......
Its giving me an error when I try to fillet the top side of the thread on the top rod. Any ideas? bottom line works fine, top one says it is self-intersecting
I am following the path you are showing but while I am doing the thread I am getting a warning that "cannot create a valid fillet because either this filleted face is self-intersecting or its loop is bad" like this error is being reported
Sir your tutorial is best but I'm not getting that polished aluminum view it's only showing tree that it's applied is there any command to see applied metal view like catia has shading with material view
Many people face the issue of not being able to fillet at 13.48 as a certain pop up message appears not executing the command.. Solution to it is: Edit the feature of helix/spiral and change the pitch to 4mm
You "should" have an nVidia Quadro or AMD Firepro graphics card to activate "Real View" in the workspace. I say should, because there's a hack for some of the GTX cards to enable Real View, but I wouldn't recommend it, and anyone even remotely serious about SolidWorks should be using a professional card in my personal opinion. A cheap Quadro with good performance for beginners would be a K2000 or K2200.
@@MrMairu555 Good to know. No, I am not serious on SW! I like to sketch and create lockworks, I don't care for rendering. I can't sketch on SW... many years using Autocad.
@@garetz2011 No problem. I'm glad my reply helped explain why the materials do not look as good. As I say, you can bypass the limits on some nVidia GTX cards if you wish to. Just search for "nVidia Real View hack" to see how it's done. For non-serious use a "gaming" card is fine, but they can struggle with certain aspects of 3D manipulation within SolidWorks because of the way the it's programmed to use Quadro/Firepro features that don't physically exist in consumer cards.
@@garetz2011 Unfortunately (fortunately for myself because I'm in a lucky position😊) SolidWorks is leaning harder and harder on GPUs with each successive release, although it's still "single core" software as far as core programming goes. That means older hardware will only become more and more restrictive. If you're using an older version, say SW2014-15 then the "real view hack" may work for you. If you can afford it though, I'd really urge anyone wanting to learn SolidWorks to consider buying a pro-grade laptop. It doesn't need to be the latest and greatest, and even something like a DELL Precision M6600 with a Quadro Kx000M (or even Mx000M) can be found for about £250, and will make your experience so much better. I personally like to design in real view a lot, as I get a much more realistic interpretation of my parts, but often need to turn it off when working in certain planes as the surface finishes can be too bright to see sketch lines. Conversely, my friend never uses real view, and never renders parts, so it's all down to individual preferences. But what we can agree on, is even a really cheap Quadro is well worth it.
when cutting the top edge of the spring using extruded cut (18:00), how did you select the reference geometry or which point did u take as the reference point . When I select the top plane it appears at the center whereas in your tutorial I can see that it appears at the top . Would be really helpful if you could guide me thnks
sir thank you. The way you created spring and female threads of gear in minutes effortlessly is just awesome.
A true legend in solidworks tutoring.
Never know this software before, the way you teaching very easy to understand, you are the best teacher,,, thanks👍👍👍👍
Loved it! I made it and I'm learning so much with you brother. India has many gifted people

I had the same problem and your suggestion solved it. Thank you !
Thank you, as a beginner I was wondering where i kept going wrong even after following the tutorial perfectly.
I have seen in the comments that, lot of you have faced issue while constructing the fillet for the thread. You can resolve it by choosing the "face fillet" option instead of " corner fillet ".
Arnab Mukherjee Thanks :)
still failed.. I have tried to put the size of the fillet to 0.1 mm,, still doesnt work. is there anything i did wrong? thank you
Thanks a ton man
Thank you so much!
what analysis do you make on this element? FEA? load analysis? what machinig procese to make it real?
Thank you sir
Very helpful tutorial for me and I am learning to much

Thank you
Same problem with me b'coz I'm using 2021

Thanks! wonderful SOLIDWORKS instructing videos!
i wish i could give you 1 million likes
Angle 60 degrees not 60mm. Beside a little speeding, it's just a great video. Thanks!
can you please show the animation of this shock absorber too?
Loved it ! but how did u rotate the part using mouse .. please help me on how to rotate parts

Learning from your videos is always awesome thanks sir
sure krushi Kaneria i will try for compression & tension for spring.
It's the perfect educational material.
Sir for any spring damper design firstly what we will fix damper dimensions or spring dimensions?
liked it, i prepare to design it on my channel
기계원리가 대단하십니다
is u got the design from grab cad?
i could not do also the second fillet.i resolved the issue by selecting the fillet type:face fillet, and after that selecting the 2 faces between the edge that must be filleted
Dan Staver Thanks,

That one really worked, thanks!
Sir can u post video on this component by using Siemens na 10 software
Sir the dimensions u selected are standard dimensions or not..?
Thank you for these tutorials
ur videos are veryyyyyyyyyyyyy informative of every detailed product.good luck and keep posting new product design.
thanks

Change the pitch as 4mm you will get it 😀
Interesting tutorial... ❤
Sir what application did you use ?
excuse me,sir. is that this absorber the same as absorber which used in washing machine (Washing Machine Shock Absorber)?
Sir please reply how to do animation for this just now I finished assembly it came very well ✌ thanks a lot for u sir please say how to do animation for this. Waiting for your reply sir 🙏🙏🙏
pure magic, like it
Spring Swept not working for 2017 version, what can I do sir??
did u figure it out
100 likes form my side.....grt work sir
thanks.
Yes
is this spring working ?
Can you please create and model that is proper and working within Solidworks?
If Solidworks crashes each time you apply the fillet to the thread, you need to increase your Windows GDI limit.
Thank you for your tutorial. There is a problem. With Under Defined sketch, it is going to features.
yes its can be features, but better to define all the geometry.
y como se pondría tope ala tuerca para q no siga subiendo ?
U the best bro
Great video. Thanks
wow wow wow you're the best
Nice

can you make some machine that use diesel as a driver?
that can help my education here.
thanks
we can make machine using petrol. can that help your education?
good tutorial
Sir, how to combine triangle into helix/spiral? I'm very confused help me please, i use solidwork 2017
use pierce option.
Can spring compression and expansion be possible in solidworks?

Good tutorial.
Very amazing tutorial sir i really like your tutorial..great work
Nice ! Good jobs
Thanku very much it is helpful to me
Great video. thanks alot sir. 🙏❤️
SENSACIONAL! MUITO OBRIGADO PROFESSOR.
Professor, you need to limit the travel of the shaft and fix the position of the upper and lower shock mounts. The spring should be able to compress.
How can I do that? I need it
Which version of solidworks you are using ?
Solidworks2014
Its giving me an error when I try to fillet the top side of the thread on the top rod. Any ideas? bottom line works fine, top one says it is self-intersecting
Great Video ! Very instructive in a completely understandable way. Thank you for taking the time to explain this assembly so well.
Спасибо за видео, товарищ!
Is it available for windows 7 32 bit
sir can u please tell me where u got those dimensions...I need assembly layout.please reply ASAP..
Very nice!

Good job man ! Thank you sir !!!!
Thanks.
Hello sir i trying to pierce in part 2 for triangle for swept cut... in pierce mid point not pierce .... please help me for learning that
jaishant kumar same issue here
your videos are so helpfull please make more car parts if you can like steering knukle or control arm!!!
how do you get that reflection on your component

Threads are showing self intersection error. What to do with the error for fillet?
