I wish we had more Lore on the Four Sages of Dwartii, they always felt fascinating to me. It kinda makes sense that the Galactic Republic was founded on Dark Side teachings when you look at the Dark Side promoting growth and competitiveness, compared to the Light Side that seemingly promotes stagnation.
I wouldn't say that the Light Side of the Force promotes stagnation, but rather those that are aligned with the Light Side of the Force. I say this because there is a book series that puts this into context with one of the quotes in in it, the book series is Dragonlance btw. Anyway, the quote goes like this: Without Darkness, the Light will stagnate, and without the Light, Darkness cannot grow.
Other concepts, such as yin & yang, good & evil, chaos & order, creation & destruction, embody what this means. For there to be balance, there must be something to act as a counter-weight. In the case of the Light & Dark sides of the Force, one cannot exist without the other. Nothing shows this more than in the Prequel movies, where we see a Republic that has largely been dominated by those aligned with the Light Side of the Force, which without the presence of those to compete/fight against, is what led to the complacency and stagnation of the Republic.
It was not the Light or Dark sides of the Force that led to that situation, as while the Force does have a will, it's a will that seeks balance between it's too sides, not one side dominating the other, as without that balance, all things end. It was those that while aligned with the Light side of the Force, acted in their own interests, or wanted to maintain the status quo that led to the eventual fall of the Old Republic, and ushered in the brief era of the Empire. I think that if the Empire, as well as Emperor Palpatine/Darth Sidious, and those that followed him, had not been so oppressive and tyrannical, then the Empire might have last longer. While Palpatine/Sidious was a fan of the Sages of Dwartii, he did not follow their methods, which as said in the video, led to great prosperity for the Republic, as while the Sages were confirmed to have used the masses for their own selfish ends, and while controversial, their methods and policies did bring prosperity to the Republic, but we see none of that in the Empire, as Darth Sidious and his followers wanted to rule through fear and oppression, which is what led to the eventual fall and defeat of Darth Sidious and the Empire.
@@fenrirgaming37 I think it is close to the concept of every living being.
The fourth represents the very core of living beings.
Rule and competition allow the established society and make its move forward.
The Light and Darkness in Legend are quite blurred because Luke chose the path of balance in the Light side with many things banned by the Old Jedi order.
Emotion is key for every living being while the Jedi who represent the Light and the Sith who represent the Dark chose their own path in the worst radical way.
*Jedi throw away emotion for the sake of stability, this only makes them less human akin to the robots, and triggers stagnant and corruption among their own and the fracture of the order themselves. (In Legend, many Jedi disliked the way of the High Council Jedi and created their own sect which was the luck in the catastrophe when many Jedis managed to split themselves and hid in every different place until Luke found the New Jedi order)
*Sith solely focuses on emotion which causes them instability. This gives them great strength in the Force but also the fatal weaknesses which destroyed them from the inside. The destruction of the Sith and those who align themselves with the Dark was mainly caused by themselves rather than outsider circumstances.
_____Dark side can temp and fool the user. Normally, the Dark motto was The Force serve you well but most who lose themselves in this destructive emotion will be controlled and manipulated by the Dark side.....Likes Darth Sidious slain his master because the Dark side told him to do and he followed it without a second thought
(Naga Sadow's overconfidence and ambition destroyed his empire, The inside fracture of the new Sith empire that allowed the Jedi and the Republic to destroy them, Darth Sidious's stupidity and his destructive tendency ruin the unity of the empire...One Sith order which supposed to be the strongest Dark side organization was brought to its knee because their radical action and how they saw other people as nothing but a spec dust)
Lore aside, those statues would make really nice ornaments for my living room...
I look forward to the day where we get to hear more about these four sages Sidious admired so much.
Unfortunately, this is not knowledge you can learn from a mouse.
Four Sages of Dwartii, sounds like a Toad wet Sprocket album.
I had no idea they were so faceted. Its neat to hear lore like that. This piece of lore is dynamic holding a yin and yang effect to both sides both past and present (so to speak).
I've known about the dark side connections these all have but didn't know about everything else you said.
Very interesting!
Hope we get a series about or at least including Malgus 🤞
This is extremely interesting. I would like to know more about them. Extremely interesting. Ironic that foundation of the Republic is based on dark side. Mace Windu says oppression of the Sith will never return. Palpatine says once more the Sith will rule the galaxy. Sith ruled the galaxy for a period. Possibly Second Schism. May the Force be with you too😊
Video idea, did Darth Revan turn to the Darkside out of Necessity to prevent a greater darkside threat from merging. A theory From Darth Trya
I mean, we know he did. Lol.
What is the music that starts playing at the beggining of the video called? I can't find it in the description
what the soundtrack for this vid?
You are the reason why I'm a Star Wars fan :D
THAT is a very rare, honest but also beautiful compliment, a special kind of appreciation for a UA-camr and his work/ artwork! I think, such a compliment is one of the strongest extrinsic motivation factors, to stay focused and deliver quality content as well to stay creative! By the way "The Stupendous Wave", your Videos are awesome and your community too! Sorry for my English 🤤, I´m from Germany 💟☯☮PS: Sometimes you have to say things very simply and clearly. It's deserved.👍
The legend narrator has spoken
These statues are so cool looking and interesting
I'm here happy new year from Peterborough United kingdom thanks for all your work this year it up.
There is no greater tool for manipulation, deceit and absolute control than democracy, perhaps that is why the Sith like the 4 sages so much.
This is why you only take aspects of democracy and apply them to a republic instead of the other way around
Thats un-American. If you don't like it you can leave, commie.
has STU done any ranking videos of the SW movies/shows?
They represent 'POWER'. I'd like me some of that kind of power.
Totally thought that was an AI Sauron with a lightsaber.
I had never seen the image of someone taking a Ringwraith Statue from Sideshow Collectibles and turning the sword into a lightsaber. How do I know it's a RW statue? I have it. lol
The interpretation and profitability of the Republic is curious; were the sages responsible for the centrification and power to the core worlds, while neglecting the citizens on outer worlds? Does this policy relate to them and rise of warlords in the outer rims, where as long as taxes are paid, slavery etc are ignored?
how did the creatures from Doom feature in this video?
The sages are interesting and I am one of those who believe that those statues had allot to do with his ability to hide from the Jedi. These were powerful dark side artifacts that could help distract or even explain any slips in his mask, in fact I believe it was indicative of the Jedi’s arrogance and willingness to compromise for political reasons. Palpatine collected and displayed dark side artifacts and this seems to have become a fashion among the republic elites. Well these were not terribly useful in themselves they would I suspect have made it difficult for the Jedi to track the movement of the force in the upper echelons of power, perhaps even corrupting those movements shifting them more to the dark, while at the same time glorifying the Sith and dark side in the same elites, glorifying the idea of empire while reinforcing fear of the Jedi. A booming fad in sith artifacts might have also provided him a means of increasing funds and winning support, since he could then sell off the more sith artifacts horded by the rule of two sith, or even gift them to individuals he wanted to win over. All the while the Jedi would do nothing since cracking down on the trade would mean alienating powerful political players, something they no longer had a will to do by the clone wars era. I can totally see some clone war Jedi going “no padawan that senator blank he’s not evil, he just agreed to pay for six new battle cruisers. it’s just the sith battle club on his desk you were sensing”
as a sith fan my self and a person who truly admires the skill and well idea of expansion of the sith lets go sith dark side building up the republic lets go
It kinda sounds like they might have used both sides of the force.
?? i think you got it backwards at 7:40 when explaining cannon. pretty sure it was the EU it was the sith ruling over the republic and not in cannon before sidious that is.
The four sages seem like almost like sith saints.
haven't you done this one before
Omg, like... 90% of all Star Wars lore is stuff just made up at of nowhere from things that where just some afterthought and I love it. x3
How cool would it have been to have Sidious toss the statue at Yoda and when it’s destroyed yanks his two lightsabers from it?
Am i crazy or was Darth Krayt in the thumbnail?
This would make for a good movie trilogy actually...but not under Disney or KK
I used spacial Displacement to press the Subscribe button, the Aing Tii teachings did me well.
Interesting
Interestingly, in the early Legends period, the Je'dai used both the light and dark side; only schisming into Jedi and Sith when they defended the Republic during a major war. Details are scarce, but the Four Sages of Dwartii could have been the catlyst for this schism, perhaps growing too old to continue their role in the republic and entrusting their vision to those who would become Sith or even dieing shortly before the war began in earnest.

Day 352 of asking for a part 3 of what if anakin was trained by qui gon
Day 352 of you being an annoying pest. He's not going to do this stupid part 3 video, bro. Just drop it already.
Palpatine respected the Darths Revan, but he feared Max Rebo.
He respects no one but Gohan Blanco
Could the sages have been the brother the sister the father and the mother?
So the Jedi just had no clue who the sages were? 😂
1.Revan 2. Jedi knight Revan 3.Darth Revan 4. Ravan Redeemed. That is the only and all he respected.
Malgus
🎉
Sounds like the Jedi didn't know their history, history always repeats itself.... Yoda should of figured it out.
There were many a golden age braught on by Kings in the passed. The four sages arnt kings but they were the supreem ruleing force of the republic at one time. even sidius with all his cunning Dident live up to the cunning and wisdom of the four sages. And i think the sith dont worship them but have a deep respect for them cuzz they stood by the sith. The sith and the darkside were a simple fact of life under there rule. It was a time where the sith were likely respected just for being sith. Sure they are the "bad guys" but respect be it out of fear or otherwise. Is still a good thing to have. I dont personaly vew the darkside as evil. And would probably dable in it if i were in star wars univerce. However I think the coruption it can cause is a real thing that ud have to watch out for. However i dont think it would corupt those who simply dont valu power people who Get more powerfull To protect to do what they need. Somone like goku who has all the power in the world But its cuzz he wants to protect what he has. Coruption can only take Root if u have serten valus. realisticly anyway its why some people who get rich remain good people and others become selfish croupt and greedy.
Yo
Very interesting and fun to hear the lore, but was the dialog AI generated? A lot of it seemed like unnecessary filler.
I think the most logical answer about the Worship of the Dark Side.... is that they actually Worshipped the Rakata.
And in later years the idea of Sith and Rakata started to mix up.
🥂🥂
😱
Sounds oddly similar to the four founders of Hogwarts
NNNNNNOOOOOOO
In his office really ?! And the jedis just passed by and never noticed LOL
Good good use those aggressive feelings
🤡😈👿👺👹
Just started watching but didn't he respect Malgus?
Ah..
Palpatine also respected #TDBank💳 card holders like #DarthTonder🏆 & Obi Wan Kenobi... 🌎💘💰
Hi
Is a society truly democratic, if it's voting on the lesser of 4 evils? The sages kept the rule and made the decisions. If you're voting on the ideals of which is the best of each of the sages, I hardly call this democratic by today's standards. Especially, when you aren't voting on whether the sages maintain their position or not.

I gotta say somethin to make sure this stays Star Wars and not something else. Just like this comment to get the other one off the top comment.

I realized how Einstein succeeded. He succeeded, because he read the Bible. By the way, I plan to study all other religions.
POLYTHEISM AND OMNISM!!!
Polytheism means to believe in many Gods and Goddesses. Omnism is the belief in all religions and knowing that no religion is the absolute truth, but every religion contains truth.
Monotheism means to believe in only one God. Deism is the belief that there is a God, without submitting to a particular religion. I recommend that you start with Christianity. Read to be saved, to learn to be good and to become more and more successful!
I love Star Wars, but I love Transformers even more. I wish there was a channel dedicated to Transformers with its extensive lore.
Even though I’m a Star Wars fan , I understand someone who tries to share gospel at every corner of the earth. Christians are suppose to spread the gospel to save unbelievers. To Christians it is the samething tryin to stop someone trying cross a dangerous street.
Well I am Catholic so we all doomed😂
No Catholic is assured of salvation till its over
Yeshua loves you all and he died for you confess and believe in his death burial and resurrection
Amen
Out of curiosity, what religion is he from?
@@fademiller3874 The name Jesus is from the Greek form of the Hebrew name Yeshua.
Such a nice lil fairy tail
@@fademiller3874 he's a Jew form messianic Judaism. But the majority Of Jews don't believe he is the Messiah. You could say Christianity. Where we get christo from
Jesus is the only way to heaven. I love Star wars just as much as the next guy, but I love Jesus more.
