Osprey chick coughs up a pellet - Loch Arkaig Osprey Cam

One of the chicks casts up a pellet. This is normal for lots of birds of prey but not seen as often with Ospreys. Most other birds of prey will cough up fur, feathers, teeth, nails etc as well as bones but as Ospreys eat only fish and have a specialised intestine with very strong enzymes designed to break down their meal, they often digest everything, bones and all. However they sometimes do cough up undigested pellets of scales and bones.🦅
