- Tesla has started sending out software updates to their cars in Australia with some very nifty updates for the vehicles. I cover those in this video. Update 2024.14.3
Quick note, I think I didn't explain the sentry mode notification correctly. I thought it's whenever Sentry mode gets triggered, but it appears you only get a notification on your phone if the alarm gets triggered. Sorry about the confusion.

3:23 That pause😂
What pause? 😇🤣
@@notacarguy_au That pause was longer than it takes the Performance Y to go from 0-140... I mean 120... I mean 100😅
The wiper toggle via the control wheel was already possible before this update - but instead of using the wheel (up/down) you'd press the wheel left/right to cycle through the wiper modes.
Yes, but now I can have that setting assigned to something else and still get the wiper options by accessing the wipers.
Much smoother with the wheel. Button was pretty clunky and annoying.
@@notacarguy_au I believe you are thinking of the long hold on the wheel options. this is the same as whats there now, when you press the wipe button, a menu pops up and you can change speeds by going left or right instead of up and down on the wheel
3:22 Excellent poker face :D
Thank you. 🤣
I ordered a Model Y a few days back. Naturally, I'm devouring as many Model Y related videos as possible. I'm delighted to stumble across your channel. I enjoyed your delivery. As a fellow Aussie, it was also comforting to see you're not far away.
I hope your back gets better soon. Back problems are the worst!
Subscribed 👍
Thanks, it's already feeling better, which is a relief. Constant back pain is exhausting. 😳 Please feel free to have a look at some of my first few videos, I tried to explain as much as I could about what you need to know starting out. Hope you enjoy your Model Y as much as we have enjoyed ours. ☺️
Lee I'm sorry about your back and hope you feel better soon!
Thanks. 🙏🏻👍🏻
I love the features introduced by this update. It certainly refreshed my August 2023 built Model 3 LR. Got the update this morning.
Hope you’re enjoying it. 😀
@@notacarguy_au Sure am!
I wasn’t in a hurry to install this update until your video. Thank you.
Thank you so much for taking the time to say such a nice thing. 🙏🏻
Boot opening feature requires the Tesla to have UWB. Only the new M3 have that as part of the build
I thought that may be the case. But of shame about that.
Yes only Model 3 Highland has this functionality. I have a recent Model Y and was disappointed to see remote boot opening was absent from the release notes. Apparently I have to wait for Model Y Juniper to get this feature, but I’m certainly not going to buy a new car just for that.
And at the rate prices are going the Juniper will be half the price we paid for ours. 🤣🤣😭
Model S has UWB
Camera should recognize my face and see how angry I am looking with two heavy bags in my both hands trying to open the trunk somehow.. 😜
Lee, great info! I really like the way that those boxes zoom in to show things in more detail. How do I do that? :)
They are super easy to do. I use the great plugin from Funwithstuff. 😀

As a chronic low back pain sufferer since April 2012, I understand your pain. Bengay pain reliever creme really helps if it's available down under. Plus some heating pad for 10 minutes also helps. Tesla's lumbar support makes it a little better on all day drives. Great channel. Just subscribed!
Thank you, been working on it for a few weeks now with the physio and thankfully it's feeling much better. Still not gone, but much better.
Hope your back isn't too bad. 🤞🏻
Thanks for the audible preview. the car thing reminds me of frogger.
I hadn't thought of that. Hope you enjoy the books. ☺️
"It's a miracle we need, the MIRACLE !!!" :) One of my favorite Queen albums :)
All of Queen's albums are my favourite. ❤️
Just got the update for my 2024 M3 and wow, it's awesome. Thanks for the video!
Glad to hear you are enjoying it. ☺️
Project Hail Mary was so good. After it was done I listened to it again.
And then I told both my sons and they both read it too!!!
Yeah, I’ve got a long drive coming up next month. May have to listen to it again. 😀
I am looking at this video after 12 days & I want to know where you got the white seat covers from? Love your videos by the way!
Thanks, I did a video about them a few months ago. Here is a link - ua-cam.com/video/ZD7sTu5Owug/v-deo.htmlsi=6PAJoE4x1vLgA9wj
Can’t wait to get the update in Denmark😊 Thank you for the test👍
Thank you for taking the time to comment. Hope you get it soon.
Hi great video and well put.
can you recommend me the white seat covers that you are using?
Thanks, yes I would recommend them. Had them for a few months now and they've been good. They do take a bit of getting used to as they feel a bit different to sit on, but I got used to them pretty quick.
@@notacarguy_au great, thanks 🙏
Really enjoy your presentation, very easy to watch and absorb. Hope I get the update soon. There is one thing I’ve been waiting for, hope it’s included
Thank you, glad you found it easy to absorb. You should check out some of my other videos, hopefully you find them just as enjoyable. ☺️ What's the one feature you are hoping for?
@@notacarguy_au The current music progress bar. At night the contrast with the screen really stands out, but durning the day, the color used is somewhat difficult to see. I has always wanted the daytime music progress bar a different color.
I just got latest update, in addition to new UI I also got FSD for a month…..PLUS……the new UI fixed the music progress bar. I am happy now
@@MarvKirsch Lucky you. ☺
I like it, but where’s the handy quick access to music/TuneIn etc that was a simple swipe up in the bottom right of the screen? Have they removed that? 🤔
Sorry, I didn't notice that, will have to have a look.
Nice video and review of the new UI :)
The Active Matrix lights work really well, have driven a lot with them before I sold my 2021 model 3 last week, looking forward to trying them out on my new 2024 model 3 this weekend and beyond
Thanks, I am looking forward and with a bit of anxiety to testing them out. 🤣
Will you be visually reviewing the RHD Model 3 Highland Performance at a Melbourne Tesla near you, soon? Multiple Sydney locations seem to have them in-store (viewing only, they let you sit inside it and film, but no test drives)
I don't think so, I am a bit of a primadonna when it comes to filming. 🤣 I like to take my time and have control over the shoot. I don't feel comfortable taking my time in a show room when other folks want to have a look as well.
Also a few folks have already done those types of videos up in Sydney, not sure what kind of extra value I could add by doing one of my own? Because I don't know if I would have the time to really be able to formulate my thoughts on it. Not sure I am making sense, hope I am.
Hey, Lee. Also not sure if the full screen visualisations are a good idea. Still, we're starved for FSD features in Australia so will probaly go with it at least for a while. Is your car using the Atom or Ryzen processor to drive the screen? Not sure if us oldies are going to get that feature.
I've got no idea what process my car is using. 🤣 I really don't think we are going to see FSD in Australia any time soon. For a whole host of reasons. But to start with it's been trained to train on other side of the road. I don't know much about programming, so maybe it's an easy thing to tell it, now do everything on the other side, but I don't think it is.
Theres' regulatory challenges.
We are a small market, though that may be a good thing as it means they can roll it out for testing and it's a small market to test on the right hand drive side of things.
But the biggest reason I think it's not coming soon is that I don't think it's going to be "ready" any time soon. I've seen loads of amazing videos of how well it can work, but I've also seen loads of videos showing it not working and being downright dangerous. And seeing as you are trusting it to control a 2 ton vehicle moving at over 100km an hour sometimes, it has to work 99.9% of the time. 🤷🏻 Quite frankly, I wouldn't trust my life or anyone else's with it. Which is what you are doing when using it.
Even Tesla has started calling it "monitored" or "supervised" or something like that. Which to me is an admission that they know it's not ready, even though they've been saying since 2016 or earlier that it will be ready "soon". Not sure "soon" means the same thing to them as it does to me. 🤣
Not seeing the navigation progress bar on my screen after this update even though I have online routing turned on with premium connectivity 🤔
That's very odd. Have you tried "rebooting" the screen? Hold down both scroll wheels on the steering wheel for about 5-8 seconds and the screen will "reboot".
@@notacarguy_au exactly what I did and it worked ! Thanks for replying!
tested the adaptive high beams on the way back home tonight. it is amazing. Speed camera chime is very distinct. Also - if you have a Teslogic HUD... there is new orange blind spot indicators that come up on your phone (before you indicate to change even). this was not happening prior to this update.
Thanks for the info, we used it a bit on our way home tonight and it seemed to work pretty well.
I used adaptive headlights for the first time tonight but not so impressed. Got a blink from oncoming traffic and in one case it seemed that it caused an oncoming car to slow down.
I've now driven past 4 fixed speed cameras and not one of them showed on the map nor chimed :( and the auto headlight dimmer - hmmm, the blue high beam light stays on (it would auto turn blue and off with prev version like clockwork). With the new update I now need to pull left stalk away or towards me (I forget which) to seemingly put the auto high beam function back to the way it was before the update. I need to test some more.
@@markread2976 if randomly driving around without a set route - it won't chime from my experience. but if you have set the chime on in settings, and have set a destination, and go past same camera - it chimes.
@@bobbyb1852 many thanks for the advice. I just took the time to read the release notes and speed camera detection only works with premium connectivity (which I don't have).
Left scroll wheel previously let you adjust wiper settings after left stalk half-press, only difference was you had to left or right click the scroll wheel vs scrolling it
Yeah, but this way I can keep the default function to something else and now the wiper options presents itself when I need it too.
You activated it the same way before, by pressing the stalk button, then to adjust the speed you pushed the scroll wheel left or right. This update just makes it easier cause you can just scroll the wheel inside of side pressing it
@@notacarguy_au Agreed I like this new way better
Can u use the browser's fullscreen mode while driving?
I think you can in the US, but not in Australia.
Here in the UK am watching and waiting for the update in amazement. Can’t wait
Hope you get it soon. 👍🏼
Just something helpful to add, you can pause your trunk prior to this update it just doesn’t say pause it says stop but will work the same way 😁
Thanks, I didn’t know that. Thankfully never had a need to pause it. 😀
Why is there a spot in your headrest? Is your headrest color fading or is it starting to rip apart
I have white seat covers that have fans in them to give you "ventilated" seats. And for some reason they don't cover the head rest. I did a video about them a little while ago if you're interested.
Great vid! Thanks!
Thanks for taking the time to comment. 😀
Can you check if you can see UA-cam while driving?
You can’t. I don’t have to check. I think it’s a legal thing. Videos and browser won’t work in drive or reverse.
Hey, great review! Is the sentry mode preview feature for Android and iphone, both?
I'm sorry, I don't know that. The notes say phone and don't specify, so I would assume it works for both, but I can't be sure.
Only iPhone and same with auto boot, only works with phone key on iPhone 11+
very nice, I cant wait to update, is there a way to get it sooner? I'm on the gold coast.
You explain things so well man, love you videos.
Unfortunately there isn’t any way that I know of to get it sooner. It’s just the luck of the draw.
Very happy to hear my way of explaining worked for you. Very much my intention to try and explain things in a way that makes it easy to understand. 😀🙏🏻
@@notacarguy_au Thanks for replying, last question, do you see parking lines on screen when parking with the new update? I have the same model as you. Cheers
I’m not sure, I can’t recall. I think I did, but would have to check later today.
A video on a Thursday instead of a Friday? I'll take it!!
I'm patiently (haha.. yeah right) waiting for this update and check each morning to see if today is the day.
It all looks really good but I'm glad they have added the speed camera chime. That and the notification that came in the last update would have come in handy over Easter.
I'm still waiting to see if I got away with that one ;-)
I hope the back comes good soon.
My back is terrible and I slip a disc at least once a year so I feel your pain.
Sorry to hear about your back. That sounds awful.
I was surprised to get the update so soon. Normally my car doesn’t get the up for about 2 weeks after it’s started rolling out.
@@notacarguy_auTesla wanted you to make this video quick ;) Great video.. thanks so much for sharing :D
That’s very kind of you to suggest. But I doubt Tesla knows who I am. 🤣 I simply got lucky with this round of update.
I like your style of reviews! Nice upload man. I’ll sub.
Thank you very much. I appreciate it. 🙏🏻😀
I noticed some "routine" in Your betterness...and that's good, that increases level of confidence! Regards

Hi Lee! What is the watch youre wearing?
It's a first generation Apple Watch Ultra.
How do I find out when this is released? I'm in the UK, and am still on 2024.8.9 and I can't find any information about a release timetable...! Any help would be appreciated!
Unfortunately there is no timetable that I know of and it seem quite random as to how and when these get pushed out.
Normally my car gets the update about 2-3 weeks after it has started rolling out.
@notacarguy_au ah okay that's so helpful to know - thanks for replying, I'll be patient...!
This visualization is FSD required or just AP?
You don’t need FSD for that. I think it should work with normal AP.
As soon as the FSD trial ended I am back to the BAP visualization. I hope I get it back with this update
Thank you
You're welcome.
8:08 I use the browser all the time when driving. Is this a restriction in Australia?
Yep, I think it’s the same in NZ and quite a few other countries. Also, maybe keep your eyes on the road when driving? 🤷🏻♂️😀
@@notacarguy_au I should have clarified - I don't use the browser for "browsing". I use the TeslAA app to get Android Auto. I set it up before driving, and it runs through the browser. No different than using the Tesla navigation, and pretty much all vehicle functions. I'm not promoting taking my eyes off the road - Tesla already did that.
Are you able to keep the driving animations in full screen. Every time I start my car it reverts back to half map
No, I haven't been able to do that. I think it is a case of having to scroll them out each time you start driving.
I’m not receiving any updates after 2024.3.6 on my M3 2023
I did restart it many times it just check the update and tells me that you are up to date
Any idea how to push the update for my car?
Unfortunately you can’t really. You just have to wait. It can take a few weeks.
Both fantastic books! This update was huge, I just want my Y to get it already haha
Hope it arrives soon.
Excellent Video, it is rumoured that if you have amd ryzen processor in you car the Boot function will work in your Model Y. Not Sure though
Thanks. I find it frustrating that Tesla doesn’t just tell us. Owners shouldn’t have to rely on rumours and hearsay to find out it not find out stuff like this. 🤷🏻♂️
Hey Lee I found out another feature during the update & that is the Trip progress bar. Sorry cant find a way to attach the image here. The release notes also don't talk about the automatic boot opening feature.
I just got the update this morning. Only installed this afternoon. I’m really hoping the adaptive high beams work.
Me too. A bit scared to try them. 🤣 may see if I can get a mate to drive towards me so I don’t potentially blind a total stranger. 😉
They already worked in previous update, this one just adds the button. They work great, like magic 😂
It would be very nice if the maps could be full screen as well just like the BYD seal.
Yes it would. Though I think they would still need to keep a bit on the left for the "car stuff" like speed and such. This of course is one of the drawbacks of having only one display for everything.
Do you know whether the USS equipped cars will get the Tesla Vision Parking Assist
I have no idea. I hope they will.
Why, the USS car have a AUTO park system or at least mine does. But I understand your point, it works like crap on my car if I compare it to what my wife's Tiguan auto system.
@@pedipedi9559I just got it a couple of days ago.
Sorry for my silly question. USS car? Do you mean US made Tesla? If so, I am in Canada with v12 (2024.3.25) and auto park selecting a spot is working for me. Also auto parking on my garage by pressing P x2 will drive the car in on a tight spot. Worked 2 out of 3 so far. Yesterday aborted 1/2 way in.
Where in Victoria are there average speed camera zones?
I have no idea. 🤣
@@notacarguy_au AFAIK, Geelong Freeway, but maybe more? (Hume Hwy in NSW)
One section on Craigieburn Bypass and then again on Hume Fwy between beveridge and broadford
Is it available in uk?
I think it’s available in most countries. But it can take a few weeks to role out to all cars.
Thanks for the video and hope your back improves soon!
In UI design principles there’s something called behaviour conditioning where you can influence the subconscious - my gut says that Tesla showing us details like types of cars, indicators, traffic lights etc, it’s building our confidence in the technology so we are more open and adaptable to new releases relating to autonomous driving (and even features like auto high beams!)
I think you may be onto something there and you make a good point. Having had a bit of experience with FSD when I was in the US a while ago, it's gonna take more than that. 🤣
The system is very impressive, but still has a ways to go.
I didn't get the visual update but I got the adaptive high beams. I wonder why
That does seem odd. I think some features are dependent on the processor your car uses. But one would assume if you have the lights, you’d have the processor as well. 🤷🏻♂️
I seem to have lost my settings for regenerative braking and I no longer see the green/black bar when accelerating or decelerating. Anyone else?
The green black bar has moved over to right up against the right hand side of the screen and it's pretty hard to see now. Not a good design change on that feature I don't think
Just got the update, I don't like that the power/regen bar is barely visible when black.
Yeah, I noticed that too after filming. It shows up fine at night, but pretty hard to see during the day. I have some thoughts. 😀 may do a short about it.
On the auto boot open, unfortunately it requires UWB (Ultra Wide Band which is the next iteration of Bluetooth) to work as that gives more precise location (ie it knows for certain your phone is with you behind the car and its not just someone else standing there while your phone is in another location near the car)
I only know for certain that the 2024 Model 3 has the UWB receiver, though I've heard that some of the new S and X do as well.
So it’s the Bluetooth chip in the car? I guess that’s not gonna change with an update.
@@notacarguy_au Yeah, no OTA update for that unfortunately. Though it may be something that they could offer a paid retrofit for. Time will tell, I believe the receiver just sits in the driver side wing mirror so it should be doable.
Tesla are not known for their first party upgrade options. So won’t be holding my breathe. 🤣
@@notacarguy_au UWB is the same technology used in AirTags to determine positioning in space, rather than regular Bluetooth which simply knows the key is 'nearby' rather than precisely where it is.
Is there any way to find out when 2024.14.6 will start rolling out to the US?
Sorry, but I don't think there is. Unfortunately, the best way is to wait. 🤷🏻
Can you turn off the passenger vent now?
I'm not sure what you mean. 🤷🏻
@@notacarguy_au the Cybertruck had an update yesterday that lets you turn off the front passenger vent while the AC was on. It’s new to the Cybertruck and it was already a feature in the refreshed Model 3. I was wondering if this Spring update brought it to Y’s and legacy Model 3’s
@@therandomvlogs Oh, I thought it already did that from ages ago. I might be mistaken.
I wish I could switch off / close the DRIVERS vent (when my passenger wants air but I don't).
The new walk up boot feature requires Ultra wide band, which is a hardware difference. However, I always just use my Apple Watch and tell Siri to “open Boot” Via apple shortcuts. Works like a charm every time.
I've found that using Siri is a bit slow, might be the cell coverage we have here?
@@notacarguy_auyeah it takes about 5-8 seconds, but I just ask Siri to open the boot/trunk/frun or charge port when I’m about 20 meters away and it serves me well.
@@kwazeeman 👍🏼
Plus I just use my apple watch for the automation, so from my perspective, it's still hands free and easy to open the boot when my hands are full ;)
Adaptive High beams unavailable in the USA as of right now 😢. Regulatory issues.
That's interesting, I didn't realise they had any regulations when it came to road rules in the USA. 🤣
Re the wiper menu appearing every time we half press the button... I wonder if the menu appears when we have a 'phantom wiping' event occur? I ask my wife to adjust wiper settings ATM... (at least she understands me). ;-)
I've had that were I have to ask the wife to change settings whilst I am driving too. 🤣 I would imagine it's set to show up only when you push the button? 🤷🏻
@@notacarguy_au Yes, AFAIK the on screen options for the wiper do only seem to appear when you soft press the wiper button... BUT that in itself is another issue. If the windscreen is dry, I don't want it wiping at all when I press the button....
Got it last night! Woke up at 0345hrs to go get bread from the servo… yeah right 😂
👍🏻🤣
After this update, the sound of the car locking is way too loud. I wonder if anyone noticed that.
I hadn’t, but will listen out for it.
We need louder
@@M3NTALMAGIC You mean me or the car? 🤣
If I buy a used Model Y, which year would not allow me to have this update?
I'm sorry, I don't know, I think it depends on which processor the car has.
Boot opening feature is great, not so much when in car wash mode. Probably should be disabled when in car wash mode.
Yes, I suppose that would make sense.
What version of FSD?
I don't have FSD, this is now the standard AP that comes with the car. Also, FSD outside of the US to pretty much useless.🤷🏻
I preferred the power / regen meter being horizontal, was much easier to see
I think you may be right. Will have to see how I go over the next few days. On the other hand, I don’t look at it that often anymore. So not sure how much I’ll miss it there. But that’s just me.
Nice video, this is a great update, I love it.
Thanks
I cannot wait to try the boot open at close proximity, on the highland.
😮
Will be interesting to see how well it does or doesn’t work. I’ve used apps to do it and it’s been hit and miss.
Hopefully the fact they’ve limited it to the latest hardware means it will work well with it? 🤷🏻♂️

Do you have FSD?
No I don't have FSD. I think FSD outside of the US is a complete waste of time.
So good to finally see a quality video of the new updates!! Thanks again.
Thank you. Though it’s funny you say that. I felt I could have done it a bit better but was a bit time poor with my back and wanting to get it out quick. 😀
@@notacarguy_au always room for improvement but was great to see it not come off a iPhone camera
@@techreview8661 That's funny again, I've been doing some testing to film a bit with iPhone and you'd be surprised how good it can look. Though for now, I find it easier to film in the car with my bigger cameras mostly cause I can turn the screen around and see what I look like on camera. If Blackmagic had a way to monitor their iPhone app remotely I would seriously consider filming more with iPhone in the car.

I got an update last week, but it wasn't 2024.14.3, it was 2024.8.9. That seems quite old, was that the previous update or am I missing some? Sorry to hear about the bad back, you're right, you feel EVERY bump. Take a couple of anti-inflammatories, that should take the edge off it for a while. Take care.
Thanks, I’m actually all strapped up from the physio and have exercises to do.
It’s hard sometimes to keep track with some of the updates.
From what I remember Tesla updates are year.week.rev so you would be an update behind so probably haven't been sent the new one yet
@@brandonokeeffe1193 Yeah, I had an update come through last week some time. I remember scheduling it but I don't know if it installed, or not. I'm away atm so I can't even check.
I to have 2024.8.7 and looking forward to getting this new update as it has some cool features. I also get bad backs, and the best investment I ever made was to get a couple of fold up walking sticks, invaluable for standing up and sitting down or getting in and out of the car.
Hope you get the update soon. Technically it isn’t my back, it’s sciatica, so shooting pain from my back down my leg. Also have to keep straight apparently to help it. Physio has strapped my back so helps keep me upright.
On the bright side, maybe this will improve my posture. 🤣
Are you on FSD?
No, I think FSD is a huge waste of money outside the US. I do have EAP for another 2 months that I used referral points for 3 months of it.
@@notacarguy_au have you got new Auto park feature also ?
so wheres the regen and acceleration bar?
I didn’t realise it when I was filming but it’s moved to the right hand side at the top. When I point out the green bar that shows the charging, that’s also the regen bar now.
Not great that’s it’s smaller and moved to the top right. But then again, at least for me, I don’t look at it that often anymore so not a major issue.
@@notacarguy_au I see, but is there acceleration bar as well? If not I’m gonna hold on updating
My favorite part of this update is that my 2021 M3 doesn’t benefit from any of it. Which is nice when your car is only 2 1/2 years old
Yeah, that’s not cool. Sorry about that.
Probably they will bring the update for intel based systems too
“If it works as advertised”… that one phrase says it all 🤪
So far though, I've used it for the last two nights and it's been good. Have heard some reports that others have had issues, but at least for me, it has worked as advertised so far. 🤷🏻
Is your car with HW3 or HW4? 🙂
I think 3 as it's a 2022 model, so came out before the HW4.
Right after updating: slightly bigger speedometer, cool 😑
Actual driving for 5 mins: omg this is actually much easier to look at 😯
😀👍🏻
Hi Lee, Thank Michel Griffiths for this:

@@notacarguy_au I'm not commenting either ;-). Are you coming to the light show tonight ?
5:20, ...I'm not sure...: Totally. You're not alone. That view is definitely not for driver while driving. I'm guessing it is good for the system to make decisions in the backend; whatever it is, make it optional so driver can slide it off. Right now, it is pretty useless looking at cars in front, behind, all around and not sure what to make of them while moving at 100km/h
7:02, zoomed-in: It's worth noting that the map does not provide street names while in zoomed-in view. That sucks, and hopefully Tesla will fix that. The map, however, does show street names while zoomed out - which is odd.
7:31, scroll wheel: Now, this is a blessing to control wipers by scrolling up/down. The old way was to move the scroll wheel left/right. That sucked.
*Wishlist:*
- Adding the passenger's seat positions into a profile
- Options to display speedometer and other gauges in analog
- Show date next to time
- One-touch for anything: Why do I need to do 2 touches to turn headlights on/off ? Why do I need to do 3 touches to turn cabin lights on/off ? Why do I need to hunt down where to enable child lock ? The darn screen is so big; Tesla should be able to make everything control front and center. Oh, and why make the brake light to scale ? Just make it BIG...and BRIGHT. Same for the signal lights.
I know my wife would be very happy to have the passenger seat added to a profile. ☺️
Seems mostly model Y's are getting the update atm in Australia
Interesting. Normally my car gets it about 2 weeks after I see others start to get it. A bit random as usual. 🤷🏻♂️😀
My M3 (2022) got the update this arvo. It will be interesting to see which of the features I get.
Our M3 got it today. All works very well, esp the headlights
2022 M3LR still haven't gotten the update yet.
Not all cars get the update at the same time. In the past it's taken my car 2-3 weeks after the update has come out before my car gets it.
Still waiting for this update in NZ
Me too. Hopefully soon.
Hopefully it won’t be too much longer. 🤞🏻
I got it yesterday. NZ 2022 M3RWD. Seems to happen over the space of a week here.
Im in K.C. Missouri; last week i had a 2023 Model 3 rental, while mine was gettin front bumper fixed
the rental had this latest update,
& now that i got mine back, which is also a 2023 Model 3, it doesn’t have it & is showing as up to date
Who knows how they’re releasing this but clearly even cars in the same city don’t get it at the same time
Ig all we can do is wait
I feel your frustration. Normally I get these updates about 2-3 weeks after everyone else. It doesn't seem to matter how old or new your car is. It seems pretty random.
Why do other countries get updates before the country that Tesla is headquarted in? Asking for myself...
It's a good question. ☺️
only good video ive seen on this. thanks
Thank you very much for the kind comment. Glad to hear you enjoyed it. ☺️
I'm..not...jealous... at all.... man you are lucky!! :)
You’re right I did get lucky this time. Normally I get the updates like 2 weeks after they start coming out.
I believe there is now also sentry notifications on your mobile which is really nice and one of the reasons I’m very excited for this release. Also you can delete the sentry clips just by swiping.
Just found out Elon just removed the referral code. Was about to put your one in. I just bought a Tesla! 😢
Oh what a shame. I think you missed it by just a week and a bit. I hope you still enjoy your new car when it arrives. 😀
Definitely will! Thanks for the discount codes though. Keep the vids coming!
Great video as usual. I am still waiting for a better adaptive speed control, that could be customised to, how soon it slows down coming into a new speed zone. Today it’s not really adaptive at all, unless I have missed the setting somewhere.
No, I think you’re right. I don’t think there is a way to customise that. Always a challenge for software developers as to how much do they hide to keep things simple versus how much they show to give users options. 🤷🏻♂️
I don't like the new interface. Way too big and distracting. I'll be leaving maps the way I'm used to it. Sadly we don't have any choice with the update - once installed you can't go back and I'm unsure how long you can ignore an update until it forces an install.
At least you can have it still look like the old split screen. 🤷🏻♂️
You can refuse to install updated indefinitely unless required by a software recall as far as I know
😂 I do have a bad back as well and feel your pain. Teslas are rough on the road indeed.
Thanks, hope your back isn't too bad. It's funny, I knew the suspension on the Model Y wasn't great, but I've recently been reviewing a few other EVs, videos of those coming soon, and I now see who much better it can be. 🤣
"Highland"... 🙂
🤷🏻
Lets Gooooo~!
🙏🏻
aren't some of these features require you to have premium connection
Yes, I think the maps stuff does. Sorry, I’ve had the connectivity since I got the car and forget it’s an extra feature.
Though I think you can use your phones connection for some of the features.
didn’t get my update
It may take some time. Tesla don't push out the update to all cars at the same time. Sometimes I don't get it for 2-3 weeks after others have.
Pity you can't swipe the stupid car visualisation to the right so that the map uses the whole screen.
stupid is relative.
It would be nice if you could do that. Perhaps it will happen in a future update?
This is why I picked Tesla over BYD.
Because of my video? 🤷🏻🤣 I didn't think it was that good. 😉
I heard that the boot opening thing only works for iphone at the moment, android to come
It might. Since my car doesn’t seem to get that feature either way, it’s hard for me to tell. 🤣
You have to have an iPhone with UWB (iPhone 11 and later excluding iPhone SE)
So it sounds “fairly” limited in terms of who is able to use it? There is an app that lets you do this called the Stats app. But I’ve had mixed luck in getting that function to work.
