Thank you very much!
this film will grow to be as important as 2001, over time
it is as important to me already
Roger Ebert was the first to understand this, calling it the most ambitious American movie since 2001 and putting it on his top 10 list. Since then it was named the critics' consensus second best film of the 21st century and I only imagine its status is going to (rightfully) grow in the future.
It is too artsy and niche unfortunately. 2001 is more mainstream. Not for everyone. But for those who appreciate the beauty, yes
Agreed. I thiunk it surpasses 2001. It's as profound and rich, while also being deeply emotional and Human. Perhaphs my favorite film of all time
The most beautiful movie ever made. Visual poetry of the highest order. This movie will always be special.
ordianary people it will
Tarkovsky, Ford, Kubrick would all be proud I imagine.
@@Psyfi85 - I understand the tarkovsky reference but in my opinion I dont think Kubrick falls into this category. I feel his process is very mechanical.
Ordinary People Makes sense, he never incorporated nature into his films this much.
@@Psyfi85 - True. I always felt Malick was better visually compared to Kubrick. But, Kubrick will always be the old master because of his film making techniques. Its hard to categorize Malick.
I watched this last night and I cried. It was so beautiful and reminded me how small I am and woke me up. What am I doing? My life is so small and so beautiful and I care about small things like someone's opinion about me. One day I will die and I want to have a great life, this movie made me realise that beautiful moments in life do not look like movies, movies look like life -something i kept forgeting. This is not a film, this is divine piece of reality
it's beautiful
Astounding visual, every frame as a piece of art. Still don't know why it didn't win the Oscar of best cinematography.
because inception did. why? because it did make some more millions as well...
@@jaswati uhhh wrong year dude. Inception came out 2010 and tree of life came out 2011 so the oscars noms/wins for those movies were a year apart.
Hugo snatched it
Winning or not winning academy awards, should not and does not determine how good or bad a movie is.
I mean like, the best picture and best director academy awards for 1965 were given to, the sound of music and robert wise, instead of, doctor zhivago and david lean.
And that was seriously ridiculous imo.
Doctor zhivago is indescribably better than the sound of music.
David lean was the visual movie master before terrence malick became the same.
@@michaelbruns449 you mean oliver twist vs space odyssey
Favorite scene from this movie is when Jessica Chastain was floating by a tree. Just a surreal artistic shot and idea.
done first in Tarkovsky's Mirror and The Sacrifice!
@@callanreimann6023 Have yet to see those. Thank you for mentioning that! Gotta see those asap
Tree of Life feels like Malick’s version of The Mirror. Not a direct remake, but he borrows heavily from it and some scenes were very overt homages to the film.
This was probably the easiest video you've had to make
Not at all!
Because every scene in this movie is beautiful
I’d assume hard because there’s so much
Lmao Fr man the Cinematography is ONG AMAZING
J’imagine que tu voulais dire que tout est magnifique dans ce film ?
I wish Tarkovsky was able to see this film.
i suspect he would've hated it
@@olliehilditch4461 thanks for the contribution professor
@@olliehilditch4461 Well tarkovsky almost hated everyone and everything outside of Kurosawa,Besson, Bergman, Chaplin and some other classics(Also Terminator for some reason)
Honestly I cryed my eyes out watching this film. I very rarely get effected like that watching a movie. Simply stunning.
This is not a movie.. It's a meditation.. 🧘♂️
That shot of the kids’ shadows as they run around on the street is awesome.
This is my favourite movie.
Masterpiece.
Love the work of El Chivo.
Lubezki??
His photos are perfect
I Think this is the most beautiful movie ever made.
Music by Zbigniew Preisner & Elżbieta Towarnicka ,both from Krakow in Poland, is just stunning!!!!
To say this is beautiful is a great understatement, yet beautiful remains the word most apt to describe it.
Just watched this movie. I have to say that this movie is one of the best movies that I have ever watched. The striking and beautiful visuals combined with the classical usic in the background absolutely stunned me. It felt like i was in another dimension. This is truly a peice of art.
the perfect film for this channel
Where do you even BEGIN to start with this masterpiece? God Bless Terrance Malik. Few times in my life have I exited the cinema this affected after watching it...
Easily the best film of the 21st century.
Nah mann
@@HerbalistGuybrush what would you say is the best, then?
Maybe Mulholland Drive. My personal favorite at least.
@@HerbalistGuybrush oh, that's definitely a good pick.
@@BIT-pn2bn I also fell in love with korean cinema recently, stuff like Oldboy, Memories of Murder or Burning are amazing to me, too-
Today 5/27/21 marks the 10th anniversary of this “BEAUTIFUL MASTERPIECE”. Great video! I love this film! 🙌🏼🎬📽🎥🙌🏼
Terrence Malicks...
Days Of Heaven - 1978
The Thin Red Line - 1998
The New World - 2005
are all just as visually mesmerizing
cinematic masterpieces.
The New World’s Criterion Collection version and the menu it shows is already the proposed video you’re thinking of.
BADLANDS , A HIDDEN LIFE?
Oh yes, Malick's films are amazong.
Let's see if he can do Blood Meridian and The Secret History.
Pain is an inherent part of life.
I can't express how much this movie means to me.
After winning an Oscar with Alfonso Cuaron and Alejandro G. Iñárritu, Lubezki needs to win another one from Terrence Malick
Oh yes and that music. OMG
The beauty of the tree of life is the movie itself.
2:11 that's my favorite shot in cinema history, over-fucking-whelming
Huh, weird.
Me too!
I remember watching the Tree of Life when it first came out in 2011 and it blew me away. I'll always say that was the movie that first got me into cinematography and videography. I'm so glad I found your channel.
I'm surprised you haven't done "spirited away" yet, it's also very beautiful
It will come 😊
Hah, I feel you dude. I'll wait
I loved my Paula with all my heart, she loved me with her very soul, and touched mine. We lived life, we loved one another with every fibre of our being, hers was a beautiful soul and a wonderful heart. She was chirpy, generous, happy.
She was flawed as well, like all humans, but I loved her so much I didn't mind, she filled my life, she filled my heart, she entered my very soul.
Then along came cancer, and after 8 months, it was all over, my Paula was gone, my Paula had become a memory, my heart is broken, my soul wounded, I keep going only because she told me to, for life is a gift, not to be wasted.
One day my love, we will once again, go along our river walk, hand in hand, hugging from time to time, and I shall once more whisper softly into your ear "I love you", on into eternity.
My Beautiful, Blessed, Boundless, Paula xxx
Loved this. Great music choice and loved the editing. Keep up the great work man.
Cool video! Nice editing. Amazing movie.
most beautiful of films...
I just watched this a minutes ago and left me thinking, after I searched for this video bc I knew it existed. I probably understand 50% of what the movie had to give but anyway, every single frame of it is beautiful and it's worth just to contemplate.
Some of this comments have me wondering again.
Hell, this is art.
I remember requesting this. Thanks you for another one. This is beautiful
absolutely breathtaking! great choice of music
Oh this is the greatest edit of all time plus this movie is in my top 10
Saw it yesterday, instantly searched for it. So glad that this exists!
You're so perfect, thanks for this ♥️
Most astonishing. Thank you 🙏
Beautiful
Wonderful! Thx!
Spectacular!
You could’ve literally posted the whole film. It’s that perfect 🤩
Justo encontré tu canal y que buenos videos, Terrence malick mi favorito
Magnificent---beautifully done.
1:47 This would look soo cool in Paths from Attack on Titan!
Masterpiece
In terms of pure beauty only two films are at this level, Barry Lyndon and Tarkovsky's The Mirror. The level of poetic beauty in film was forgotten until this film!
Apocalypse now
Thanks for considering my suggestion.
Even though Hugo has some great cinematography, The Tree of Life should've won Best Cinematography, every second of this film is wallpaper worthy
Love this movie
Houston - Beautiful city.
beginning of world and evolution scene from 20 - 37 minutes of that film was just 😯😯😶🌫️😶🌫️🌟🌟✨✨
I don't know what that means
But acting cinematography direction and vision from Terrance maleck is masterpiece
Thanks! All movie is The beauty of The Tree Of Life
The beauty of Samsara and the garden of words.
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ beautiful.
Ça me fait super plaisir ! Je vais m'y atteler !
Were there shots in here from an extended cut or something? I don't remember that blue shot of the Turrell installation at all
Pretty sure that this film helped lubezki a lot for the revenant
I think this is the most beautiful movie that I ever seen with Titanic.
Visual poetry
Gracias..
“ did it go to space? “
Are some of these shots from the extended Criterion version? because I don’t recognize some of them
La beauté de ce film avec cette musique incroyable Terrence Malick est full cheaté mais qu'est ce que c'est booon
Note: Many of these shots are from the Director's Cut.
If Terrence Malick had made Dune it would have been interesting.
Well I was expecting this video to be 3 hr long
You should rename the title like this : "The beauty : Tree Of Life"
Could someone help me please???.
Which focal length do Malick uses in the 2:55-2:58?
Is it 85mm??
I recognize the Houston Museum of Fine Arts And just around the corner; the Houston Museum of Natural Science
🙏🏻
for me this feels like kubrick combined with Tarkovsky
Is this from the extended Criterion version?
Yes!
Alongside Barry Lyndon as the total height of cinematic beauty. Nothing will surpass or split the universe like they did.
One of the most beautiful movie I have ever scene.
💝
Can You Please Do Beauty Of Punch-Drunk-Love.
How do you comment on perfection? 😢
👌
Many people said that the tree of life shoulve son Best picture over the artist. For me Lubezki won for the beautiful photography.
😉👍
What is the name of the song??
Lacrimosa by Zbigniew Preisner
Gonna sell my 35mm for a 16mm after this movie
Lubezki, the Chivo
What was that in 0:39
When a movie makes you talk to God.
2:11
Probably could've just picked 4 minutes at random and had plenty of shots to work with lol

I have said it over and over. If you want to really know me, this is who I am No one cares. This is enough. More than enough. See this movie.
I thought posting an entire movie was just piracy?
I apologize I am sorry kindness loves you and nobody kindness hearts with kindness.
Can you do lucy
