Jimmy was not only a dizzy frontman, he did not played loud and powerful, he was also a troubadour, full of love and tenderness. A huge artist in so many faces. Incredible man !!!!❤❤❤❤❤❤
Love jimi! I had my comm guy hook up my cd player in my armored personnel carrier while in Mogadishu somalia and I'd listen to jimi when we'd go out on patrol. My favorite Jimi song is little wing! Jimi is a monster
@@abracadabra3033 I was in the Marine Corps. 89-93 hit the first gulf war and Somalia. Dco 3rd aavbn RCT7. Been a huge jimi fan since I was a kid. All along the watchtower, castles made of sand, crosstown traffic,Spanish castle magic so many! Nothing better then sparking a j and listen to some jimi, zepplin or pink floyd. Gotta get some CCR on your channel. Born on the bayou is a great song
@@abracadabra3033 wow my buddy was in the 82ndsame time. You guys were the only unit in country when our unit landed in saudi Arabia. We were there on august 10th 1990. Crazy time everyone there knew we'd be back we should have handled Saddam when we had the support of the Iraqi people and his military was completely dismantled
Jimi is the greatest of all-time. The dude was from another planet, and no one else even comes close. He was also in the 101st Airborne. I'd have to say 'Castles Made of Sand' is my favorite, but his cover of 'All Along the Watchtower,' 'Voodoo Child,' and 'If 6 was 9' are right up there.
Right before he died, there were plans for him collaborate on an album with Miles Davis and they were going to ask Paul McCartney to join the group. Makes me sad to think how much great music the world was denied by Jimi's early demise. Shows how precious every life is.
60s early 70s such an exciting time in music, motown, rock, folk, singer songwriters whose songs still sung today and jimi who has influenced many musicians and still does. Try earth blues and pali gap.
This was always my favorite song from this album. I did get to see him at a concert in my awful little town in California. It's a great memory.I eventually moved to San Francisco.
Dude you doing a good job I'm going to tell you that now the Wind Cries Mary that's always been one of my favorites by Hendrix that's one that usually nobody plays I wouldn't have ever imagined somebody doing a reaction to a good job man come on
Hendrix was playing in Little Richards backup band in New York , when Chas Chandler, ex bass player of the Animals saw him. Chandler became his manager and took him to the England where he brought in Mitch Mitchell on drums and Noel Redding, a lead guitarist on bass. Hendrix was worried about his voice, so Chandler played Bob Dylan for him to show that you don’t have to have a great voice to make great music. Dylan also influenced his song writing as you can hear in this song.
All the audiences i see from this era, they are super calm and quiet. Was that just a way people acted during a performance? Or were they just, blown away and in shock? hehe always been wondering about that. All the jimmy ones i seen anyways.
I regret that I only got to see Jimi twice before he died. Such a loss. And yes, he did play his guitar with his teeth/tongue and behind his head and back. ☮️✌️ SRV was a pretender, Jimi was the GOAT.
Loved Jimi! What a MASSIVE talent! A true original. This is a great song! I was only 14 years old when he passed away.. l was such a huge fan! So damn sad..gone far too soon. ♥️🎼🎶🎶🇨🇦
You are spot on Brother. 27 years old when he passed away in 1970. Just imagine what he'd be doing now. In Jr High, I thought Ace Frehley from KISS was my idol, mid 70's a dude turned me on to Jimi, "Stone Free" thats all she wrote.
I've loved Jimi since the first time I heard him. Not only his music but him, he was a creative genius, very intelligent and funny, and despite being such a master guitarist he was extremely humble. Hard to find his music on YT because of copyright issues, they have to be live performances like this one, but another very good one on here is I Don't Live Today, live from the LA Forum 1969 (audio only).
Tracy Chapman reminds me of Jimi Hendrix with her storytelling in her songs. Most of his songs could be folk type songs if u strip all the instruments 😊
Totally amazing, of course. One thing Jimi probably doesn't get enough credit for is his amazing lyrics. Definitely a heavy Dylan influence, but still all his own.
Jimi died way to early. Unbelievable talent! There is only one Jimi Hendrix! My top three guitarist of all time: 1. Jimi Hendrix 2. Eric Clapton 3. Eddie Van Halen I have put a link below when the late Chris Squire ( bass player from the group Yes) first met Hendrix. Also, check out the group Yes, the song Roundabout! You will not be disappointed. Peace!!
it's sad that so many catch Jimi's vibe, but they miss his lyrics. Don't just stay on the surface and vibe, go deep into Jimi's soulful lyrics and discover what he was really saying. For example, does anyone up in here know what Jimi is telling us when he says, "After all the "JACKS" are in their boxes, and the "CLOUDS" have all gone to bed", "You can hear happiness STAGGERING on down the street, FOOTPRINTS dressed in RED"?
Its funny you mention that. If I was to build a super group it would be Robert plant singing, Jimi on lead guitar, Ginger Baker on drums, John Paul Jones on bass.
Ha ha, I've known this song for decades but never knew the inspiration behind it was because Mary made him lumpy mashed potatoes instead of smooth style mashed 🎃
Really liked your reaction man. If you want to hear some heavy Jimi, listen to Machine Gun from the Band of Gypsys album! 12 minutes of anti-war guitar work by Jimi, straight guitar fireworks!
Hey Hey Abracadabra 303 ❗- Dig your stuff. (Watching your reaction here to Hendrix reminded me of something) I noticed you react to a lot of old school artists like Hendrix & others, so wanted to throw an artist from that era at you, to see if you'd consider doing reaction to him. It's an artist Hendrix himself respected. Don't know if you've ever thought about reacting to him but a song that's flown under the radar over the years with a powerful message was from Elvis in 1969 song titled "In The Ghetto". (Dropping link below so you have quick access to it if interested). I know request may be out of left field but The song was about challenging close-minded Americas to open their eyes and Minds a little bit about Injustice and inequities going on. He caught some pushback from some bigoted white folks back then for doing this song. But I know that people like James Brown, Muhammad Ali and Hendrix ... And many other more evolved souls respected the hell out of Elvis for using his public platform to stand on that message. Perhaps Please consider giving this a reaction sometime? I know the song was recorded over 50 years ago but a lot of people on UA-cam are just now waking up to it and I can almost guarantee you a lot of extra followers / subscribers real quick if you end up doing reaction to it. Here's link - ua-cam.com/video/1l0gdjyi2jY/v-deo.html Anyway, enjoyed your Henrix reaction here, as well as your others. Peace
dude, i love you and your channel so much . . . if you think this is good then please listen to "miles beyond" by mahavishnu orchestra. cuz i bought that album birds of fire on cd and they explained in the little booklet how everyone said that one half step at a time walking up to the next chord technique was done by miles davis, then jimi hendrix, and then mahavishnu. . . but if you want to hear that again in a totally different way, then "miles beyond" by mahavishnu orchestra. i try every day to think of a song that is better and i cannot.
I know I'm going to get in trouble for this, but I think to really hear the music you should listen to studio versions. They had too many concerts where the sound was crappy, and sometimes they were messed up on acid. You need to hear the nuances!
Well at this point just do Stairway To Heaven the live though at Madison Square Garden (some parts are a little bit different and Jimmy Page's solo is like 3 minutes long) BEST SONG EVER MADE/WRITTEN.
All these reactors only tap into his basics i guess his really good stuff is blocked on youtube ie( VOODOO CHile blues version/1983...a merman i should turn to be/machine gun performance 2
Jimi was one of those guys that all other players watched closely to see just how he could do it. There were others, Eric Clapton, Pete Townsend, Duane Allman, Sonny Landreth, Derek Trucks, on and on. The guitar player's favorite player.
For myself, as a guitar player, a worthless video of Jimi. We'd all like to see him play. But no. We get shots of the bass player and the drummer. Good performance though.
Noel Redding on bass and Mitch Mitchell on drums. Lucky enough to see Hendrix live before he left us.
me too!
He was AMAZING and one of a kind. We really lost a treasure when Jimi died. Plus, who dressed cooler?
I totally agree
Jimi is a master of music. He takes you on a journey with his songs.
Agreed
Jimi deserves a reaction to all his music.

You should check out Jimi's cover of Bob Dylan's "All Along The Watchtower" Bob said "Jimi owns it now".
That was the next one, so it's a cover , ok cool
@@abracadabra3033 That one might be his most popular track all-time, up there with his rendition of the Star Spangled Banner at Woodstock.
Little wing ...... great guitar 🎸 solo 👍.... Bold as love and castles made of sand
My favorite Hendrix song. So mellow with a great groove.
That soft beautiful voice ... "Castles Made of Sand" fall in the sea, naturally -- you must hear this song ❤
Yeah one of my faves by jimi
With its crutch, it's old age and it's wisdom... It whispers no, this will be last.

I love this version.....it’s raw as can be
It be able to see Jimi Hendrix play, in Sweden, in 1967, on video, in front of a tiny audience, is nothing short of a miracle.

Left-handed, Jimi played his guitar upside down and restrung. You’ll notice he’s holding backwards to the way most people do.
Jimi and Stevie Ray Vaughn.... the greatest.
