Tublay, Sablan, and Kibungan in Benguet

Tublay, Sablan, and Kibungan in Benguet have limited experience in aquaculture as a venture, but the SAAD program is showing them they can become both fisherfolk and farmers. For instance, the Fisherfolk Organization of Daclan (FOOD), founded in 2023 with 18 members, has been steadily improving its fisheries production by converting idle lands into income-generating fish ponds. As beneficiaries of SAAD, and with continuous support from the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Tublay and Barangay LGU of Daclan, FOOD has become one of the tilapia producers in the municipality. They aim to achieve food security and sustainable livelihood by simultaneously farming vegetables and fish.
