With all the history that our city hold it's crazy to see it in film. I assumed the town would seem predominately white but My great-grandfather worked at the mill but lived in the county. I did a project on our city, staking pictures of historically known places in our town.
@@diggindave71 I really don’t know what I have yet. I’m in the process of going through old VHS tapes and photo slides and digitizing them. I’m uploading as I find them. I do know that I have slides from the 70’s and 80’s around the area, but unsure exactly what they are.
My mom would have been 9 years old. She was born in Schoolfield. Went to that school.Quite possible she or her older siblings could have been in this video. All have passed on so I have no one to ask😢
DANVILLE VIRGINIA MY HOME TOWN BEAUTIFUL PLACE❤

it looks like the Schoolfield Mill .Dan River .i walked through that gate many times
That’s exactly what that is. There are so many iconic Danville landmarks in this video. Thank you for watching!
@@StumpandDi they demolished the mill and building a casino now
More casinos, more food stamps. Politicians never learn.hope that turns out to be a success. Danville could surely use the jobs.
My dad would buy clothes at a store in downtown Danville. I think it was called abes.
@@williammurray8060 I remember Abe Koplen! I bought some clothes there back in the 80s when I was a young girl.
