I have been suffering for the past 2 years with high levels of prolactin and brief jumps in my cortisol levels. My moods have been all over the place my days just feel like pure shit. My relationship has been affected in ways that are really difficult. But recently I have coke to terms with this and that my moods are not how I feel they are due to the hormones. I’ve continued to work on them and in my relationship causing my love and attention to reform. I thought I was doomed but not giving in to these feelings I have found my love again and have been living a happier life. My partner has been so understanding and has been there for me throughout. I had often thought that I was done in the relationship but have been so glad I didn’t give in and found myself again with my man. We have rekindled ourselves and have made life so much better. I hope all you other girls out there do not give in to these feelings and to those who have not had this. I hope it Dosnt come to you and I hope you choose to keep ur life rather than make it worse. ☺️

      Try cabergoline

  • @Twistedhippy

Just started caber and feel good, dopamine increase has given me more energy and I feel happier, less stressed.
This wasn't Dr prescribed, I'm in UK so easy to find online.
When I finish this course I will see how I feel and use a private company to get tested properly and do it right, I just can't wait 6 months to see an endocrinologist on NHS to be told it's my fault for self medication 😏

Good luck and Caber seems expensive but it's half or quarter tab twice a week. Pretty inexpensive.

The guy in your case being switched from 250 mg Sustanone every 2 weeks to 1000 mg Neibido every 8 weeks is also a typical case of the BS going on in the medical field. Due to the ester mix in Sustanone he got a much more leveled release of testosterone during these two weeks. On Neibido - although getting the same net amount over 8 weeks - he will get an extremely high peak after the first 2 weeks followed by a six week valley. Doctors seem to be - more often then not - only interested in prescribing the most expensive treatment method. And in this case it is obviously causing additional problems of mood swings and depression due to the extreme swings of testosterone and estradiol levels while on Neibido. If it was not already checked in this case, it might be worth to look in the "free testosterone" levels. For example: excess SHBG's might be gobbling up all his testosterone. The prolactine aspect is very interesting however. In bodybuilding circles cabergoline is widely used to counteract the prolactine buildup caused by compounds like Nandrolone and Trembolone. So sometimes it is worth to do a deep dive in these forums even if you are just on TRT. However as far as I understand it, most doctors will be reluctant or outright refuse to prescribe Cabergoline to anyone except Parkinson's and pituitary gland tumor patients. So you would have to go to the grey market to acquire Cabergoline.

Hey! unfortunately there are not many doctors who know about this.
I have been through many who have given me bad advice and made me feel worse or did not help me.
But even from the bad you learn, you could talk to your doctor and consider using a low-dose aromatase inhibitor along with a supplement like DIM or Sam E.
To help keep estrogen in line and help prolactin.
      Cheers

I've just had blood tests done privately as despite telling my Dr I don't feel right a d have no drive for many years I just get turned away as apparently I have to much muscle to have a problem. Well my T is normal at 13nmol but estrogen is rock bottom at 40pmol but 3 tests over 9 months has my prolactin at 600mu. In the past theanine makes me feel great and gets my libido up. Not surprised as it promotes dopamine. Only issue is the effects wear off after a few weeks and it doesn't work again for months of not taking it. I've changed my Dr and I hope the new one listens to me. Any advice guys

If your new doctor isn't able to help, it might be worthwhile investing in private treatment with some one like Balance My Hormones, at least initially so that they can help you find out the root cause of the problem, and a solution.

Unfortunately, dopamine agonists do not help, especially if the blood is macroprolactin. It is not affected by dopamine agonists, as it is generally not secreted by the pituitary gland only by something else. The dopamine agonists are even worse in well-being. My territory is different here. Testosterone itself is a potent dopamine agonist. The problem may be the disturbances in the production of the neurotransmitter dopamine.

@Locutus @vein Interesting points gents. I'd never heard of cabergoline until this conversation, and then again when you guys raised it. There is some research on pubmed regarding cabergoline and positive results. However, as always, the context is important, and one of the more convincing cases related to women, not men. I'm inclined to believe that like most things when it comes to human health, in some cases things like this may have success, and in others not. What's important is that we keep the dialog going and try to learn as much as we can.

Odd thing I'm noticing 8 weeks into TRT is prolactin going up.
I do have a pituitary adenoma and have been on Cabergoline for 4 years. My last scan a few weeks ago showed the adenoma had shrunk for the first time though. So despite that, my prolaction has crept up from 340 to 410 to 425 over the last month.
So not getting too concerned, but looks like the TRT might be playing an active role in raising prolactin.
