    Today I went searching for a missing father and son who drowned in the river. I wanted to share my experience with everyone on UA-cam to help promote who dangerous rivers and lakes can be. Make sure you guys always have a PFD on if you're in or by the river. Please check out the GoFundMe fundraiser I created. I'm hoping with the help from my amazing fans here on UA-cam we can help someone in my community. Thank you!!

    That's terrible. That poor family, the father and his son died trying to have a father and son moment. I don't think I can process how sad that is, and imagine drowning, that's absolutely terrifying. God bless the poor people. 😔😔😔

    My husband and I had gone rafting down the same part of the Rogue River in Oregon for about 5 years and it was completely calm and smooth until the last year we went rafting which was about 4 and 1/2, 5 years ago and it was so much different. I was about six months pregnant with our first child and was still feeling extremely active and energetic, we had done it so many times in the past we thought it would be okay. I hit a rough patch and my husband was right behind me, I hit the patch and was thrown under and all of a sudden I feel my whole body being pushed up and out to the shallows... my husband ended up getting beaten by the undertow for a good while and thrown back up. He ended up being okay but for a good three to four weeks his whole body was bruised and bloodied because he threw me up and out to safety and forced himself down to the rocks. We have never underestimated the river or any body of water ever since. It was so incredibly terrifying for both of us. I thankfully still have my love today, plus a couple of added babes! He completely sacrificed himself to save me and thankfully I didn't have to lose him.

    As a Police diver in the UK, I want to say well done to you and your friends Jake. I KNOW finding bodies are unpleasant at best. I can only hope you never get to see the things I have seen in my 30 years of both Rescue diving and Recovery operations.

      already first responder certified I've done search and rescue before but in a different capacity this is my first time doing it in the water, I served and I'm already kind of the go-to guy for certain missions for example we got a soldier who lived in town had a boat real nice kept a lot of weaponry on board had some gold and stuff booby trap the crap out of it so if anybody ever stepped on board it'd blow problem is it went down and we got it in an area where there's a lot of kids who swim and stuff so we're hunting for it so that I can go disarm it underwater our local police don't have anybody who does that they have people who do it on land but they don't have anybody who does that underwater I'm the only one we know of in town that's got the skills to pay the bills so to speak so even that I'm not officially search and rescue diver how I'm not even deep sea qualified I don't even have scuba I don't need it it's not that deep but I got the skills to get the job done I'm a real strong swimmer lifeguard certified first responder certified been diving since I was a kid and I can hold my breath for quite a while over three minutes and because of that and the fact that it's my boat soldiers served under me and he willed it to me but that one's not so much a priority until we can locate the vessel but even still when it comes up they don't want nobody else touching it cuz it's just too dangerous that'll be the most dangerous job I ever did even when I served I didn't do nothing that dangerous this things literally a bomb it's got eight devices on board at least and that's serious I mean it's a 64-ft steel Hall vessel too and it's going to be underwater so if any of those pop while I'm working on it sayonara my friend

    You just keep setting a good example for everyone here. Your willingness to help bring closure to the family as well as assisting our first responders is something truly amazing. I have donated to help, and I hope many others come by to donate as well.
    And to those dissing the officer who wasn't letting Jake help, it isn't because they didn't want him to. It's liability issues as well as other concerns, and like the officer said, they already had a lot of help. Though while extra help can serve to be very useful, Jake hasn't done a search and rescue before and they might have preferred those with more experience in recovering missing people such as the local game wardens and such. It's not that they didn't appreciate him willing to help, they just already had what they needed and they could've been concerned about liability issues.

    • @levimaltba5478
      @levimaltba5478 6 років тому +7

      Bluethealpha They could have also had Jake’s best interests in mind. As someone who briefly worked in EMS, we generally tried to keep civilians away from the deceased, not just because of liability, but seeing a body for the first time is traumatic, regardless of how ready you think you are. Cases involving children are especially bad. Like everyone here I support Jake wanting to help, but I understand why the first responders/search party sent him to another location.

    • @Bluethealpha
      @Bluethealpha 6 років тому +1

      Levi Maltba Agreed, I meant to mention that as well. I know even if I were wanting to help out, it would be traumatic for me for sure.

    Dear Jake; 💜🔅 You are an honest, real human being. I’m saddened each and every time i see another untimely death of a child, and a parent, and several other scenarios. I myself have been in several stages of grief for awhile the past 3-4 yrs now for several family members and tragedies in my life and to know people that maybe don’t even know me beforehand, would care this much about their fellow human neighbour, especially when there’s a child involved, makes me feel a lot better. My heart goes out to the mum of this tiny sweet boy and the mum of the dad, and the wife for the grief she’s feeling for her husband (she’ll be in terrible terrible pain inside her heart & soul over the death of the father of her child and the death of her child.
    Lord Our Strong Capable Father whom Loves is Always available.....PLEASE be there to help this hurting young woman woman & her entire family right now, as everyone is grief-stricken and in shock and some state of whole or another. Please stay close to the mans family & let them know clearly that they don’t have to suffer alone in this. Bring the right safe people and strong friends and such into the special mum who’s heart is broken grieving two losses concurrently, her tiny sweet little boy and her husband who we always feel Dad’s are the strong protectors, but accidents can happen to anyone, (zero blame at all needed here) in anyone’s life. All we can do is LOVE our families&friends with our whole hearts💕 and treat them as we would wish to be treated, with our entire might! And spend the Best time making them feel that love and Happiness we have for them every day!
    Please dear Lord send this Mum angels in every occupation to hold her up in strength, love, peace, blamelessness, loving memories&love-filled feelings, help her to be able to stay nourished, hydrated and plenty of sleep(even though eating and REST-IS the Most Difficult part to force yourself to do, that’s what I find and others I’ve now met say it was in the top of the most difficult things for them also. So Lord, YOU KNOW best what she needs. Help her. I know and have faith you will! Please provide her needs in full & help her in the beginning of her healing through this terribly tragic loss of her husband&precious son in this very unexpected way&time. Thank you for what you are already onto Lord. You are Our Strength & Our Sheild& Our medicine in times our hearts are ill as in terribly traumatic grief. You are there. Thank you....🙏 thank you for she has arms around her &prayers&help in any way she herself specifically needs right now. Thank you 🙏, in Jesus name, amen.

    During the hurricane we had a missing teenager at our hotel that I was working at I was off work at the moment and when I came down to check to see if they needed help checking in people my manager came to me and said we're trying to locate a missing teenager I asked if I could help and we searched all over the hotel anyone I ran into I asked whether she had been seen or if she sees anyone to please alert the front desk The police ended up finding her out towards the lake alive and well thankfully but it's a pretty scary situation to know that somebody's life could possibly be depending on you and your help thank you guys for helping them out. You don't know how appreciative their family is because of that

      American Freedom Fighter he states in the video that he even asked the family before posting the video. Its a sad event and even if he found the bodies he wouldnt of shown it. He was very respectful. Would be kind of rude/unsettling to actually watch him looking around for the bodies. This video was more about awareness and raising money than it was getting footage of dead bodies...

    Rivers are very dangerous. One time when I was 7, my mom and I went to one of her friends house that they where renting on the river. When we got there, my mom and I and her friend went on a Jet-ski. When we where pulling up to the dock, and we flipped. The current started pulling us down the river. After about a minute, my moms friends husband saw us and helped us to safety. It was crazy that her husband was able to do what he did. He’s was able to stay in one place in the river with a life vest. I also removed that when we got back into the house, I took a shower, and i saw a daddy long legs in the shower, and I was so traumatize, that I didn’t even care that the spider was in the shower. I will never forget that day.

    My dad was an amazing swimmer, super fit, super healthy. He went out fishing with his friends every month on his boat, and one single particularly windy day was all it took for his boat to hit some rocks and for all 3 people on board to drown to death. There were crowds of people who saw it happen, paramedics got to them in under 3 minutes but it still wasn't enough to save any of them. I'm just glad that at least they were recovered so quickly, it would have destroyed my family even more if they were lost out at sea and we had no way of knowing where their bodies were and whether they were dead or alive.
    Pretty sure he would still be with us today, or at least have had a better chance of survival if he had at least been wearing a life jacket. Safety first everybody, never compromise on safety no matter what.

    One of our dive club's annual trips to the Isles of Shoals (off the ME/NH coast) took place a few days after a child had been swept out to sea. The Coast Guard made us aware she was missing, and asked us to keep our eyes open for her. We did, but I'll admit we were relieved that a group other than our own eventually found her.
