Amen 🙏🏽 I never questioned this thing about cremation and it never ever bothered me. Because of we do have problems of cremations in our salvation, then my question is that, how about those people who died in fire 🔥 incident their bodied were burned into ashes too...and some of them are Adventist faithful ones! If God can resurrect them, then He can resurrect also those faithful Adventist who died has been cremated. Our God is the God for those who believes in Him and accept Him..and He will resurrect those who died in Christ whether they're cremated or buried normally or they have died on the sea and has been eaten by a big sharks! All of them will be resurrected when Jesus comes! Amen 🙏🏽 thanks always Pastor Mark Finley for the great message.
Genesisb3:19 “In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread till thou return to the earth, out of which thou wast taken: for dust thou art, and into dust thou shalt return.”
I think today the issue is that burials have become big business. You often have to pay tens of thousands of dollars for a funeral plot in a cemetery. Cremations can often be done for less than $1000. I think most people would opt for burial, but I totally understand cremation due to the price difference in today's economy.
Amen! God is the hope of my horizon! He is the light, so I can see! And in my darkest hour when I have fallen, He is still the love that carries me... Blessed be the God of my salvation, for His love saves from the second death
Matthew 10:28 (NKJV) "And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. But rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell."
What if your a believer and you die in a house fire? Bomb explosion? Die in the sea and get eaten by some sea animal? No matter what, you will be bodily resurrected by the Lord. How is God going to do that? I don't know. I bet it's not a problem for the creator of all things to do that real easy. In fact, is there anything too hard for God? No.
THANK YOU! This has bothered me for YEARS now. We cremated my grandparents as they requested, but I always questioned if it could somehow separate them from God's ability or desire to recreate them. And of course daily I'm getting closer to my death day so I was kinda itching to find an answer. This video comforts me. Thank you.
God Will remember us who we were. No matter what how we died doesn’t really matter. Some people were burned to ashes in middle ages by persecution for their belief in Jesus but they were all remembered by God. That is a good example. God has our record of all DNA we are all different 🧬 and unique being to the eye of God. No worries. Thanks for reconfirming, pastor Mark.
So many martyrs were burnt at the steak so it doesn't really matter what happens to your body, as you say it is a choice, for me if I have a choice I would bury.
Some early christians were tortured and burn alive in the public. And God saves his people who are faithful either your bone is intact (in tomb) or your bones is powdered (crimation or burn in public tortured). In other words crimation is not an issue. Let's focus in our salvation and being faithful to God. God bless everyone.
I think this move was not in God’s plan. When God said to Daniel in Daniel 12:13 But you, go your way till the end; for you shall rest, and will arise to your inheritance at the end of the days. Can the body be in Rest when you burned it? Where this idea came from?
I have been an advocate for cremation for decades simply because I believe that preserving the body is contrary to my spiritual belief (it is the spirit that liveth!). After all, when Mary Magdalene tried to touch Jesus after his resurrection, he told her, "Touch me not. For I am not yet ascended to the Father." The power is not in the body, but the spirit. I have held this belief for decades. Until a dear sister in our church who also was in favor of cremation said that she felt God showed her that cremation was defiling the body. Now, I don't believe that cremation is a sin, but her point has made me rethink my position. We all will decompose after death and become dust, just as we all will die anyway. The parallel is that man is NOT ALLOWED to decide when we die, and God's natural process of time, etc. breaks down the body...just as it is not up to man when to take life, I believe it should not be man's decision when to decompose or cremate the body. If there's a scripture that shows that burning the body after death is acceptable, I haven't found it, and if someone has found it, I'd love to know where it is. Just remember, we aren't bodies having a spiritual experience, we are eternal soul having a temporary, earthly experience.
Christian greetings to everyone! Hi, Pastor Mark, recently there is a surge of teaching here in the Philippines that the Holy Spirit is not a person, making the doctrine of the Trinity false. I've got two questions about this, Pastor Mark: 1.) Are there any differences between the Trinity doctrine that we, Seventh-day Adventists, believed from the Roman Catholics? 2.) Why is it that the Bible and the pen of inspiration sometimes overlooked the Holy Spirit (e.g. "The image of God is to be produced in humanity. The honor of God (1), the honor of Christ (2), is involved in the perfection of the character of His people" Desire of Ages, p. 671)?
Good question @Neal on Trinity, please respond Ps Mark...i am having the same controversy where i worship here in Australia, apparently they believe the pioneers initially ? didnt believe in Trinity and they believe Evangelism p616-617 was infiltrated by Leroy Froom and that 1Jn 5 vs 7-8 was originally not there in the bible it was added as well. They say Adventists are worshipping 3 gods and the Holy Spirit is a force or energy not third person of the Godhead..... please tackle this topic Pastor....thank you Neal for raising that!!
He did indeed. However, cremation isn't sacrificing your loved one to a diety, or a part of worship to another diety. It's simply a way of disposal of (already dead) human remains, so they take up less space, to put it bluntly. Now if the person were sacrificed to the flame, that would be different. Like what the Roman Church did to the martyrs. They burned people alive. To me, they were practicing pure paganism rituals there. 🤷🏻♀️
Because of sin, Moses allowed divorce. To me it's the same principle. Because of sin (greed), God allows cremation. But isn't it great to know the God of Genesis, Who speaks something out of nothing, is also the God of Thessalonians, Who will again speak something out of nothing: "Jacque!! Wake up!!!" (Mom died June 6.)
It is not salvational and I don't believe one is eternally lost if cremated or burnt at a stake etc but the Bible does teach / supports burial not cremation!
do you guys follow jesus or poster of church i think this person didn’t read about this Jesus said unto him in Matthew 8:22: “Follow me: and let the dead bury their dead.” The Spiritually dead will always bury their dead loved ones in a manner, that exhibit pride of life, which is not of god, but of the world.
Of course we follow Jesus. But that doesn't mean the true followers of Christ leave the dead unburied. Jesus was speaking to a man who was giving greater precedence to his family ties that were preventing him from following Christ.
I do not believe that I have EVER heard Mark Finley say the word "um" (not uh, but um) before! In less that 3 minutes- he said it 9 times! What is going on there???🤔 Is Mark okay?
The point of the video is that the Bible does not talk about cremation vs burial as a salvational issue. The God who created man out of dust is still powerful enough to raise His saints from Ashes if they are cremated.
Opinion only but if you are saved you are in your heavenly body and your earthly body is of no significance. Cremation and burial to me are simply ways to honor the life of the person and have a lasting memory by doing what you wish with their remains
In many ways just asking this question shows how cute Adventists have become? It shows a degree of dis- respect to God's people who have died thru out time for His name.Dietrich Bonhoeffer the lutheran pastor who stood up to Hitler in Germany, was tortured and imprisoned by the Gestapo for a lengthy period( many of his family members were killed by the Nazis) and Bonhoeffer was taken out and hung and immediately piled together with other executed prisoners and set afire and burned up!Other prisoners testified later that they smelled it and fat and skin from those burned alighted on their own skin! The majority of Seventh Day Adventists at that time collaborated with Hitler!
@@HL365 No I wouldn't be interested in the playlist l have already seen most of it.,and have been nourished by your ministry! All I am saying is the caliber of the people asking these questions due to the way Adventists have been fed is very superficial.Considering the Jews were made into soap, lampshades, and garments, it seems to me to honor this sacrifice, Adventists could have used these facts for a deeper edification on the subject of cremation, and other truths about the nature of the Beast and False Prophet whose spirit manifested those deeds and the same spirit growing today will manifest the same practices in principal upon Seventh Day Adventists when enforcing Sunday Laws of worship.Lets try at least to keep it real and convey our Lord's suffering and the reason for His sacrifice!
