Would you consider purchasing a light box? If you already have, did it help? 🌄

Where are the sources you are talking about? Would you be willing to add them to the description please? It's a simple copy paste :).

Thank you Dr Wong. About 13 yrs ago my daughter and her son were living in S.Korea. (Military) She came back to Hawaii where she was born and where her parents were as well ,to bring her young son for eye checks. You were his doctor. He’d worn glasses since about age 3. He had 3 checks with you about 6 mos apart. He’s now 19 and doing well with contacts. It’s nice to see you doing these videos. I moved from my lifetime home in Hawaii a couple of years ago. These winter days are getting to me. I decided to consider a SAD light and found your video..Glad to see you’re still there. You had a young child at the time in the office so you could be with him(?) he must be a teen now as well. Aloha, K

Sending this to a couple of friends who use these lights. I don't know that they've thought of some of these things - I haven't! Thanks again, Dr. Rupa ❤️

Thank you! We moved from HI to the Pacific Northwest and winters have been difficult for me. I’ve held off on a SAD lamp because I worried about my eyes. 😊

Vitamin D also appears to help and has studies with it. I did a lot better last winter on Vit D.

would like to see a video giving your opinion on the various light therapy glasses now on the market (Luminette 3 / Retimer / AYO). These are being sold as providing a safer / more targeted / precise effect on SAD & resetting circadian rhythm than light boxes. The glasses are a fixed distance, position from the eye, skewed to blue light entering the eye at an angle, etc.

really good to know! on similar note, i would love to know how eye-safe red/blue light therapy masks are or what precautions someone could take if they wanted to start using those devices at home

@Dr. Rupa Wong oh Dr. Wong, thank you so much! I recently got a Qure mask. I was so happy that I got it before it sold out. But now that I have it I am afraid to start using it. It is just sitting there. I know that the device is just an extra (unlike suncreen for example that truly is important) but I value my eyes health a lot so I came here specifically looking for you to see what you recommend. I also bought those tanning safety goggles which fit fine over once my mask is on. But is that enough? I turned on the mask...With them on it is not as bright anymore but it is not total blackout. So I quickly turned it off. Do you know of a specific goggle that truly offers protection that can be worn with the mask? Are these masks safe? Sorry for all these questions. Thank you so much! Your videos are so so helpful ❤

I’m considering buying a SAD therapy lamp, a German brand called Beurer seems very common in UK

What about red and NIR light therapy? I just got the Omnilux contour light therapy mask for my skin routine and the light is very bright but it’s marketed to be ok to use while opening your eyes.

Hello! I've started collecting plants, and was thinking about investing in grow lights for the winter. I am very myopic, have extremely thin corneas (or retinas? The ones you scratch with laser surgery), and suffer with high eye pressure, and my ophthalmologist said 'NO!' to me using grow lights. Do you think I could use daylight lamps for my plants, and will it be safe for my eyes? There are daylight lamps out there they do not emit UV rays.

She should use her hands more - not less.
