In 1979 UNLV went 9 - 1 under coach Tony Knap. In 1983 they were 7-4, 1984 11-2 with Harvey Hyde as coach and RANDALL CUNNINGHAM as quarterback. You two may be too young to remember Randall Cunningham, quarterback for the Philadelphia Eagles back then after college. UNLV has had some success but not for a long time obviously. My friends and I went to Barry Odom's radio talk shows here in LV. We bought into the promises made. We have him under contract until I think 2028. So much for that. Although some of us are bitter that he left us, we wish him and his family the best. I want Purdue Football to be better then they have been. Barry Odom will make that happen. But some of us are really sad that he left. By the way...any of you two want a signed football by Coach Odom? LOL!
Wins and Losses next year do not matter to me... I just want the team to look like they are playing the sport of Football. No more 67 yards to 66 point performances.
After setting up his coaching staff, his first task is to keep quality players from leaving and to find players in the portal. Ultimately, time will tell, but it is promising that he has been a head coach for multiple years, including four years in the SEC and two years in the Mountain West, where he resurrected UNLV. Hopefully he can revive the program at Purdue like our last hire from that conference, Joe Tiller! 🤞
I will await RESULTS after the first 2025 kickoff to render an opinion. Two years ago, I fully bought in to the "Ryan Walters Era" at Purdue. I truly believed Purdue finally had a legacy-creating leader. My disappointment at his failure is devastating. Fool me once - shame on you. Twice - and I am the moron!
Coach Odom did so much for UNLV...got the football fan base reinvigorated...made UNLV nationally known. But as it is now......UNLV has lost the best coach we ever had. You can bet most of our recruits next yr will opt out and transfer either to purdue or somewhere else. You can also bet allot of players on the team will enter the transfer portal to join Odom. And UNLV will once again go back to a 3 win team. With our mens basketball team in ruins....with no hope in sight.....our days of being revelent in division 1 football and basketball have gone up in smoke. If we don't nail the football hire...UNLV might as well drop out of the MW..and drop down to division 2 status. UNLV simply isn't good enough to compete nationally anymore. Gone are the glory days of tark and the runnin rebels. UNLV fans are sick and tired of being everyone’s doormat.
Horrible, UNLV fans say he couldn't win the Big game, a snake oil salesman. Needed a guy with contacts to SEC portal players. This guy bounces from school to school looking for a better salary...How is he bringing in top Big10 level players? Even Rutgers plays tough at home,

Walters was on Odom's Mizzou staff as DC before going to Illinois

I was thinking the previous 2 coaches prior to Odom offered ground work. Am I incorrect on that?
Odom has his work cut out for him.

lol and fans are such a good source
Purdue should just resign themselves to knowing they will never win another Bucket as long as Cig is at IU.
if you actually believe that you are dumber than anyone i know
Purdue leads the all-time head-to-head series with Indiana 127-92.
