Thanks for the video, there's such a shortage of videos out there targeted for this skill level so it's great to find your channel :)
Glad it was helpful! Thanks for watching :)
I get more from this channel than any other bouldering content I've found. Thanks for making these vids! Really informative, super chill 🙌
Super helpful. For my current level, this video was perfect. Thank you!
This was really helpful, thank you!
Great video!! Very informative
Thank you!
Thank you. This was amazing!
This is awesome, subscribed, thank you❤
Thank you so much for this! I’m getting comfortable with V2s and want to keep learning techniques early so I can be ready to progress onwards in the future. I know these tips will help me on the wall!
Congrats on your V2 sends! I'm happy to hear you are working on your technique - it really does help with progression! Thanks for your comment and good luck :)
Great video, thanks! I can only dream of V3s at the moment, but it's a dream that's getting closer every day!
Excellent video! Thank you so much!
I’m glad you liked it Mary! Thanks for your comment, it means a lot!
Omg thank you. I was absolutely stuck on a V3 today and I'm gonna rock it next time. I was having trouble transferring weight from right to left foot.
Thanks for the video!!!! it was very helpfull
You're welcome! Let me know how it goes :)
I love your help!
I'm glad they're helpful! Thanks for taking the moment to comment :)
Great video
I'm going v3/v4 on sheer strength alone after a few weeks of climbing. I didnt know any of this! Thanks for the video. Maybe consistent v4 and v5 will come soon!
Just started V3s. Thank you for this!
Congrats! And thanks for watching the video :)
OMG, I just flashed a bunch of V3s @Central Rock Hadley. Today was a GOOD day!
I’m a newb and your video are so freaking helpful. You are a LEGEND 🙏
I’m so glad you benefitted from it! Thanks so much for you awesome comment!
Thanks, currently plateaued on v3's!
bouldering is so cool. I was mostly on V2s today. V3s were kicking my ass heh
Will put more focus into these techniques. I am lost with my climbing now. I was doing some v4s. now struggling on some V2s, and made very little progress in 3 months.
I had a small knee sprain one day, and have not been able to get back up to my grades since.
Awesome nice vid! Thats my climbing gym!
2:28 Yes! Ran into this today. Timely advice.
I like the thought you put into your videos. I don't know if you have covered this one, but I notice that many climbers at all grades need help staying calm and composed at the top of the wall. It gets stressful up there and it's hard to climb safely. If you have thoughts on this I'd love to hear them.
best vid yet. Thanks for the tips. Rocking of the hips really is too important.
Thank you so much! I’m glad you enjoyed it :)
I just sent my first V3 last friday, was such a struggle! This is definitely gonna help!
You got this!
Climbed my first v3 today! Great video. The examples of how to switch feet was really helpful!
Weldone lol
Congratulations!
I like you. Subscribed. :)
Really appreciate your videos. They're helping me a lot. I've been climbing for about 4 months and am semi consistently reaching V3 and 510 plus. I have a CrossFit in gymnastics background, so I feel like I'm very strong and I get frustrated that I can't increase up to higher grades. Would love if you did a video on climbing versus overall strength and how much technique plays into being able to climb higher grades versus strength
Thank you for your kind words! I'm glad to hear that my videos are helping you with your climbing journey. There are a couple of theories out there about baseline strength vs technique per grade but I think it's pretty subjective... I'll def make a video if something more concrete comes out though!
Thank you for uploading these awesome videos! Do you mind if I ask what brand of pants you use for climbing? I've been looking for some in this style. Thank you! :)
I'm glad you're enjoying the videos! I typically wear Black Diamond's Notion or Notion SP pants - they are my favorite! Super easy to move in with extra material around the knees for added durability. sendedition.com/recommends/bd-notion-pants-from-bd/
@@SendEdition Thank you!!
what the frick...
why is this video so dang perfect?
Hey! Thanks for the comment :)
For me there are two types of V3s: without crimps - which I can do, and with crimps which I don`t.
you missed one of the crucial foot-switching techniques, especially on rock: improvising/finding a little sequence where your first foot temporarily steps somewhere else so that the 2nd foot can go to the original placement. This often involves 2 additional small foot movements without changing body position.
That is an excellent foot-switching technique, thanks for taking a moment to share that in the comments :)
I can only climb the overhang V3s 😭😭 but not the ones on a straight up wall, it’s so sad 😭😭
hey, thank you for this video! i dont really get the difference between pivoting and the drop knee?
I'm starting at a V2 level and can nearly do some V3s but I have absoultly no technec, I just brute force my way up lol, I'm working on it but
I feel like a lot of people start by using strength to get through climbs and that is totally normal. I hope this video has introduced you do some techniques you can start implementing :)
I've climbed V7 but there are still the occasional V3 that I take several tries to do or that I've even given up on.
The grade is very subjective.
rock overs are sooo satisfying.
thanks for the tips though!! i find the hardest thing for me to do is switching feet because I often have the mindset of "if i was doing this correctly... switching feet shouldnt be necessary..." but that mindset doesnt really make sense. ill definitely try to apply feet switches more often and just trust that my fingers will hold me against the wall :)
What pants are you wearing?
I have 5 of these exact pants (I like them that much, haha) - they are the Black Diamond Notion SP pants sendedition.com/recommends/notion-pants-recomendation/

V3 in the gym is such an insanely wide difficulty scale and nowhere near anything close to outdoor climbing in 90% of all gyms. Usually it’s at least 2 grades easier than a real V3.
so what Vs should you be able to consistently hit before trying outdoor climbing
