The Sally Weaver storyline in this episode was inspired by Kathy Griffin's (the actress who play Sally) HBO stand-up special, where she ridiculed Jerry Seinfeld, alleging he was rude to her during her appearance in the episode "The Doll." Seinfeld was so amused by this routine that he showed a clip of it during the audience warm-up before tapings and even incorporated it into this episode.
And the doll looks exactly like George's mother. Pretty spooky.
I like that story! I think Jerry's a swell guy.

Only if Jerry's jokes fell flat (on the show he's not that successful) and then Bania gives him jokes about her and Ovaltine so Jerry remarks, "that's gold" (just like Bania did).

Newman is an even better cartoon villain than Boris Badenov or Snidely Whiplash.

Insight of Projection: Sally ''calling the Kettle Black' -- 'Sally Weaver' is the Devil. It's funny how some 'comedians' accuse others of insanity when it is they who need to be checked in first. This was perhaps the only Seinfeld episode that gave another 'comedian' far too much, unworthy airtime... still unwatchable.
