- What racquet does Stan the Man use? Can he get back to Grand Slam winning ways in 2020? If he is in form, he will definitely be a threat!

Wawrinka's strategy against Novak is only to turn into the best player in the world.
It is a great strategy! :)
So true haha
only can hit well with Novak when DJ is a bit off or tired...
@@chtomlin mhmm djokovic is definitely the type to feel off in grand slam finals
@@danielmltu yes, because of record setting win streaks can eventually leave you flat.
Stan wields Thor's hammer, basically
My arm hurts after reading those specs.
372g strung with 360sw and RPM blast which is a stiff string strung at 61.7 lbs.
Wow what a weapon (if you can swing it like Stan that is)
My racket of choice. Old school. Nice video rate.
Love these player racquets series. Keep them coming. Thanks.
Love these videos, keep em coming! Stan's the reason I decided to learn the one-handed backhand, it looks so cool
Vcore Pro 97 310g is by far the best racquet which I''ve ever played with...
❤
Great video, thanks! Would like to try the 95D someday. Stans backhand is of course spectacular, but his forehand is both beautiful and a real weapon, as well. I feel like commentators and the like don't give him enough credit for that. When in form, he is also a great mover and can float across the court. The USO final win over Nole is a good example of that. Stan ftw!
RPM Blast full bed at 61lbs, Holy moly, The man must have bionic arms,
SRKarting if I tried that, I would have golfers elbow and tennis elbow in 10 minutes of play. His arms are really powerful
I run the same racket as his, the Duel G 97 330 with as much tape. but I string at 65# on Mains and Crosses, and I use Poly Tour Fire 1.30mm with 10% prestretch. The Racket is Extremely High Power and High Precision. As a UTR 6.0 playing against other women, I mostly dominate in Leagues if I have time to play them... as I like to Sandbag to get to the big ego players and knock them down a few pegs. Being able to play left or right handed has its advantages.
Im using Feds 90 k factor at 55, but i had to chsnge as it destroyed my elbow, looking now at even having to chamge racquets which is a shame because dqm I love the feel of the 90s
I love these videos that talk about pro player racket specs.
Keep this great videos up!!
Love your pfp, Bobby Caldwell is amazing
Really loving this content from the top players !!!! Keep it up man! :)
Great stuff. Always a welcome sight to see a new TN video in the notifications!
I have three Yonex 95D racquets and have used them exclusively for years. They pair especially well with Yonex PTP in the high 40s / low 50s.
My spec is leather and overgrip, with a small amount of lead at 12 o'clock. Static weight is 364g and they're still easy to swing, yet properly thump the ball is you supply the speed.
One particular strength is their directional control and ability to switch the path of the ball from your opponents shot. If they were slightly more plush, they'd be perfect.
Thats. Great. Any idea how i can buy 1 somewhere?
Man I love these videos. Keep it up!
He uses lead tape under the bumperguard as well, probably two layers. Usually top players add weight to the sides where there's no more room under the bumper.
Good deal, really enjoys the pro model reviews. For years I've been telling a lot of my friends who just play and surprisedly some of my teaching friends that many of the pros camouflage their sticks and they're manly heavier. Now, I just send them one of your videos.
This is the man, STAN THE MAN, who turn Joker into serious hitter from baseline. Novak learn a lot from Stan how to hit hard shots and he also turn him a best defenders when such situation arise. Thanks for the info good work pl keep on going.
Great review !! many thanks.
I use the same racket Stan, the Yonex Duel G 97 330gram. He just has a custom paint job on his. My weight is about the same as his but I string mine tighter at 29kg on both crosses and mains with Poly Tour Fire. I don't like the new Yonex Rackets and will stay with my Duel G until they release a version that is similar and can hold those string tensions under warranty.
Love these videos!
Everything you said ! He's terrific !
TENNIS Nerd could you do Shapovalov and Tsistpas racquets. Im really keen to see their specs. Cheers
Tsitsipas is already on the channel, El Shapo coming in a near future
Superb video..Love the in-depth analysis and drawing correlation between Stan's game and his racket..
Just as a side note where did you get the wawrinka Vs Nadal clip from?
Thanks! It is actually vs Vesely in Monte Carlo 2017. I captured it :) I only want to use my own video content when possible.
this is how stan hits winners moving backwards
If Stan is healthy he will smash it in 2020!
He's awesome. Hopefully he recovers from his injury again.
He has quality enought to be top 10 or top 5 during 2020 we will see in last 2019 tournment in AA.
I love the yonex 95 even I dont use it, and I know many players with Stan stytle that are unising it, or RD tour, or the old model RD7, so is a good option for that kind of players.
I love his backhand too but he is too slow and the fact that he'd never been a versatile player, will prove hard to enter top 20 next year. There are young players coming up, he's not getting any younger. He can still go far in big tournaments, that's for sure
@@xdiputsm As a fan, I often think he should finally change the racket or something, maybe it'll help. Stan is slow and his tempo is too predictable
Well he is getting older, But currently I guess he is top 16, coming from important promblems in his knee so we will be in AO.
I have green gold vcore pro 2019, beautiful thing!!
That's a heavy racquet!
The heavier the more control and he hits hard
Not really, as it depends on your playing style. I learned on woodies, which were extremely heavy, and never could play on light rackets, so I use the Yonex Duel G 330 G with 15g of added tape strung with Poly TourFire at 65# on both Crosses and Mains. They are Precision Power Rackets. I can Ace with with Laser accuracy and their new line that replaced it is pure garbage in my opinion. I will not go to a 95 sq in racket and have to heavily mod it like he did because the head weight is all off balance.
@@OfficialNakatsuMegami It sure is a heavy racquet. I mean sampras played with a heavier racquet but with a modern forehand it's alot for the average player to leverage. Props to you for being able to wield your racquet.
Try a wooden one
Good job!!!
Stan is a top 5 player when fit. Still has another major in him I reckon.
I think he went down with the mass after an injury. He was really fatty and slow, not sure if he could cope with the mass. Also Djokovic went down from around 370g to around 350g lately as far as i know. Imo 340-350g is a new optimum nowadays. I remember 16x20 gives some very good control, as i used fisher classic racquets with this type of pattern. Tennisnerd have you played with Stan's racquet?
Stan was in excellent shape last season. Like 6 pack abs and all that.
The grip length seems shorter than regular racquets.
I wish Yonex would just do a special re-release of the 95D
I really wish the next iteration of VCORE 95 is more identical to the 95D mold. The current VCORE 95 seems to be even more lacking in heft to be played in stock form.
Does it at least feel similar? Can always add lead but cant change stiffness or control
@@bazza2540 I think VCORE 95 is flexier and more muted than 95D. It can be a good thing if you have some arm injuries, I guess. But personally I prefer crisper but comfortable feel of the 95D. Control-wise I think it's pretty close, but 95D provides slightly easier access to power due to being firmer and has more heft. Not to mention that the beam shape of the current VCORE is more round-ish, so IMO it'll affect the size of the sweetspot.
Modern racquets will never again be that heavy. When you exchange heft for speed, you lose on one side - plowthrough - but you gain on three - movement around the court, security and consistency of the shots and mental game, you just feel better. It took me about two years to get from Wilson 340g through Yonex 330g and 310g to current Blade v7 18x20 305g. And it really took me a while to change my strokes, make them longer and faster ALWAYS, with a lighter racquet I just can't hit with half speed, something you can easily do with a heavy racquet. Very happy that Blade finally did it for me, light, fast, crisp but not too stiff and high-ish swingweight. I am visibly faster around the court, but particularly more consistent with power, precision and lack of unforced errors. It took me a while but it is a clear net gain. It is also very visible with younger pros today, like Thiem or Tsitsipas but others as well. For most of my transition period I thought that 330g or 325g would be the sweet spot, and I initially went that way, but at the end I concluded that I was still sluggish and I lost the plowthrough of 340g. So my conclusion is that it has to be light enough that I can always hit with full racquet head speed, 310g or less dry weight before stringing and mods. I train with pros and juniors.
@@userdjee834 Interesting you mentioned about Tsisipas, because AFAIK his 2012 BLX Blade mold is customized so it becomes roughly 320 grams unstrung, which means roughly 15 grams heavier than the layup of the retail version, IIRC. I think a 320 grams unstrung racket is still within my definition of 'normal' weight for most intermediate-advanced players - and Yonex still offers racket within that spec range, e.g. 2019 Pro HD, and IMO as long as it's not head heavy, it's still plenty manuverable and wouldn't kill your arms. I can agree that 300-310 grams unstrung racket can be a perfect racket because it has more room for customization, though. I'm also aware that these days pros are more concerned with swingweight than static weight, since it can affect their strokes as well.
The only thing that's probably make 95D becomes less appealing for a wide audience if it were being released today is probably the lack of feel - it's brassy and not very plush like widely popular racket such as DR98, for example.
@@soznyw571 Yes Tsitsipas is around 320g dry I agree. But then again Tsitsipas is "a bit" better than I am :) I have the Yonex VCore 97 HD 320g and it is great, but I can't be consistently fast with it like I can with the Blade, and it is far from the RF97A plowthrough. Blade suits me better because it is notably lighter to wield but has a higher SW so its balls are equally heavy when you get used to it and consistently stretch the swing. But yes, that Yonex is really nice. It is probably their polite way of telling us that they will stop making the 330g version..
Can you make one on Lleyton Hewitt :)
What is the beam width of his racket? You didn't mention this crucial point in your video
Can you do Kyrgios next
Love stan's big game, but he expends too much energy getting to later stages of big tournaments (if he gets there) of late. Seems to be missing extra step of speed as well.
The ingredients are still there, but the magic combination to unlock the slam seems like it is missing something.
I agree 💯 %
Can can you rank the Yonex v pro racquets what is your favorite one? Duel g 330g, 2018 ,2019 version and the HD 18x20 Thanks!
Where can we buy 1? Its almost impossible to find a used one at a fair price.
What is that yellow tape above his overgrip? Additional lead tape for balancing the lead tape on the head of the racket?
@tennisnerd Do you think Stan still uses 16x20 string pattern with a new Vcore Pro 97 2022?
great video, can you do Nick Kyrgios' racquet next?
He has actually done a video a little while ago about Nick Kyrgios' racquet, customising an Xi98 to Nick's specs - not in the same style as this video but with a lot of the same info, might be worth a look if you haven't already seen it?
I think this racket is near vcore95 than vcore pro.
I have doubts about Wawrinka´s grip size, it looks bigger than 4 3/8". Also, I found an interview in wich he claims to use 4 3/4" (tennishead magazine). Any comment? Am I getting too nerd about this stuff?
Judging by beam width in the photos, It looks like he's using a VCore Pro not a VCore.
you saw a Wilson, then Yonex: Vcore 95 / Vcore 97 / Vcore 97 Tour / Vcore 97 Tour F / Vcore Dual G / Vcore 97 Pro - but, as stated, these are all paint jobs ...
I read an article where Stan states his grip size is 4 3/4. I will post when I find
Interesting stuff, moved to the pro97HD, great stick amazing feel and good for 1hbh. I feel though that if you hit it higher up the string bed it lacks stability, feel power, I noticed Stan connects lower down the string bed, anyone else notice or feel this ?
which strings do you use on your pro97hd? i just bought one and it feels too soft on hyperg at 48lb
Hey ! In a recent Instagram live Chat with Benoit Paire , he said that his string tension is 25 Kg for the mains , and 24 kg for the cross...
Hope that will help !
Keeg going dude !
Look at all of the lead tape!
Best player against djokerp
How do you make a racquet heavier without changing the balance? Im using the vcore 95 btw
Counter-weighting - say you added a leather grip to your racket or added silicone to your handle and that made it more headlight, you could add some lead tape in the upper hoop of the racket to balance it back out.
@@cvexOCE Thanks :)
Blast @ 61lbs! Sheesh
370g holy...
Yonex-Power💪🏻
Ok. What yonex is similar to this in 2020.
VCORE 95 with lots of lead tape and silicone and a leather grip
Love Stan although he always looks like he's slept rough after a drinkie
