So much noise in the background. Are the students paying attention? This teacher deserves more respect than that.

I actually find the equation easier to understand in its original form, before the division, but with A and B swapped: (A ∩ B) = P(A) × P(B | A).
Here's how I understand that: the probability of A and B both happening is just the probability of A happening, times the probability of B happening now that we know A has happened.
    So, P(monsoon season ∩ raining) = P(monsoon season) × P(raining | monsoon season).

Never seen this guy get angry. Which is strange because my old maths teacher used to get angry all the time. He wouldn't go crazy, he'd just shout a lot and then set us all extra long homework of simultaneous equations. The homework would then be checked question by question at the start of the next lesson with a Q & A going around the class. If you didn't know the answer, you were in the shit. I always did the homework and always got 90% of it wrong.

now that we know that, and let's say that you get called to answer questions during the Q & A session on 50% of the time:
      a) what is the ratio of incorrect to correct answers that you have in a year?
      b) what are the chances that you get at least 5 correct answers in a month?
      c) what are the chances that you get a 3 correct answers streak?

      @@renansouza3256 a.) 9:1
b.) Since we had maths twice a week, that'd be 8 lessons a month. And he used to do about 15 homework questions per lesson. So 120 questions. Of which I'd get 90 / 100 x 120 = 108 wrong.
      c.) Probability of me getting three correct answers in a row was 0.1 ^ 3 = 0.001 or 0.1%
      I am getting intense flashbacks.

@@unsteadyeddy3107 so he was checking all the answers? I miss interpreted it :D
I thought of something like "teacher asks a question for a random person, so what are the odds that this person is unsteadyeddy3107 and that he has the correct answer".
I am also assuming that there are more students than questions, so not everyone has to answer every time, thus the "50% of the time".
It was nice to see you answering hahaha

I am a really big fan of you, Eddie Woo. But on this one, I feel a bit uncomfortable seeing all the percentages written in a table without discussing "percent OF WHAT". There is a difference between the %s in the first row (1% and 99%) and the rest of the %s. Of course, you know that but I am not sure if your students get it. If they understand that, it may be easier form them to see why you want to multiply these percentages.
