You really need to do some long form instructional videos. You have next level builds and I want to learn more from you. As I’m sure others do as well. Both your technical and design skills are outstanding!
Thanks Tim! I’ve got a whole bunch planned once I get over this algorithm hump and start gaining some traction here. Instructionals just don’t seem to do very well.
I agree. I found myself wanting to hear more about "piston fitting" as well as other processes. Consider even a subscriber model with more in-depth instructionals on patreon or similar platform. Help to justify all the time it would take to create. Of course, for those desiring in-depth footage of processes, the production value doesn't have to be as high level. Thanks for sharing your skills and knowledge.
Drawer snaps are pretty nifty. Like the magnets on the table saw arbor.
Fun to watch the channel start to take off!
For sure! Kind of fun to see a little uptick. Man, if I had a dollar for the number of times I’ve dropped my damn arbor nut, I’d have a sawstop by now 😂
@@SawyerDesign I got 100 bucks submitting the magnet on arbor trick to Fine WoodWorking Mag.... It was a couple issues back. Published, baby!
@@80211Denver No Way! I just added it a few weeks ago because of that article haha Thank you Fred!
Very nice work. I was trained 43 years ago as a professional furniture maker. Your skill set and methods are at the professional level. Nice layout and video production also. The narration versus loud blaring music that some UA-cam woodworkers use in their videos is refreshing! Subscribed as you are what a professional woodworker should be.
Thanks so much JD! Certainly learning as I go here and really appreciate it
Wow..really beautiful indeed. Your work is 2nd to none !
You do such beautiful, creative work. You are blessed!
Next level craftmanship!
It’s kinda a reassuring to what’s left of my sanity that you greet your shop in the same manner I do.
😂 I’m not alone! And we aren’t as weird as we think lol
Beautiful design! I love that you held off on the base until something struck you as just right. The endgrain steals the show, but there are so many more features that keep me looking 🤩
Don't know how I haven't come across your channel before. Definitely love the way you put them together with the voice over. Probably have to binge watch a few of these. Nice work.
Thanks Dave! Haven’t been at this long- don’t judge the other ones too hard haha feel like I’m finally starting to get the hang of it with this one. Appreciate it man!
Stunning work Nick. I didn’t realise the end grain was such a thin veneer when I saw it on IG the other day. Seems you addressed any wood movement. 👌🏻
Thanks so much! The casting should hold it all together great!
I’m following for while, and in every project you always try to increase the difficulty without pre planning, just following your instinct and trusting in your skills. You are one of the best woodworker in UA-cam and I don't not why, but certainly you are under estimated, you deserve millions of subscribers . All the best wishes and happy Christmas.
You have awesome skills👍👍👍 you made a simple cabinet look like it should go in a museum instead of a house 😁😁👍👍👍👍👍
Thanks Chris! Hopefully a in a studio someday. Much appreciated man!
Unreal Nick. It’s such an absolute pleasure watching your builds. I really can’t say enough, so I’ll just stop now. But thank you.
I think I share your obsession with end grain veneer. Never seen anything like it. Lovely design
Thanks man! It’s such a crazy cool look!
I really like that your workbench is so pretty
I am not a wood worker and I don’t understand all of the technical verbiage you use. But, I have watched most of your videos. I appreciate seeing someone that excels at their craft. You are a ROCKSTAR Nick!
Hey thanks so much Jim!
Beautifully done!
I really dig the end grain!
Beautiful work, sir! Enjoyed watching🙌
Love it!! Lots going on, the end grain veneer looks amazing!! Def one of my fav woodworkers, right up there with Matt Estlea, Andy Rawls and Jesse DeGeest
Thanks so much Ryan! Really appreciate the love man. Flattered to be compared to those guys- they're all super talented.
I love the end grain veneer. Much respect for your attention to detail in the fit and finish.
Seriously obsessed with that look too.
I did learn something! I learned that I will never be as good as you. These are beautiful!
Haha with a little practice, anyone can do what I do. Thanks so much
@@SawyerDesign how long have you been woodworking?
Going on about 3 years now
@@SawyerDesign are you KIDDING ME?!! You’ve learned to be that good in under 3 years? You’re my new hero! I need your mentor/teacher lol!
@@abefarrar 😂 I wish I had a teacher. Met a guy, now a good buddy of mine that went to furniture school and he’s been good to bounce ideas off and I wish I had the opportunity to learn some things hands on from him, but largely self taught. Obsessed with the craft man!
Wow brother, knowing that you are a self taught master furniture designer / maker gives me hope for my own future endeavors. Thank you for your free furniture maker lessons! 🙃
Fantastic build. Looks amazing
Thanks Randy!
nice build! Love the end grain veneer!
Thank you! Cheers!
Love how you carried the design on the drawer fronts into the shape of the feet on the base. Great work as usual!
Bases are always so hard. I usually design 10 and then change it last minute. Glad you picked up on the swoop continuation. Always fun when the little lines appear and kind of show you what needs to be done
That end grain veneer turned out awesome. Really like how turned out. The whole build turned out great! Going to have to do some research on piston fit drawers. First time ever heard of it.
OG softclose is the way to be! Nothing runs like a nicely fit drawer 👌 thanks Trey!
You are the most skilled full craftsman woodworker designer i have ever seen known love watching your videos ,but but your not a very good teacher i of course will continue to followand try to pick up learn as mutch as i can
Nick, I lived the end grain laminations, and I learned a lot about stopping break offs pieces and finishes. The end grain reminded me of Michael Alms plywood veneer.
Loving the channel. These night stands are amazing!
Thanks so much Ryan! Really appreciate it man
Fantastic work! love the end grain veneer, particularly how you used the geometry to highlight it, learned a lot today, thank you for sharing.
Glad there was some info to glean out of the video. Thanks so much!
Don't worry about power tool dovetails....ISHITANI, a Japanese furniture maker uses them almost exclusively, and if you've ever seen his channel he also builds gorgeous pieces
Ishitani is king
Love how the drawer curve is echoed in the feet. Great design and construction!
The little touches 👌 thanks Rich!
Great design, integrating the drawer pull to a unique visual feature.
Thanks so much!
Love the base!
This is next level in all aspects-construction, design and fit. Really good tips on how to achieve a perfect fit.
Beautiful stuff.
Nicely done!
Really appreciate it!
Brilliant design and lovely results. So glad your channel was recommended to me. Thank you also for providing CC on your videos. I look forward to seeing what you make in the future.
those drawer stoppers are legit!! Do you have a video on the wax steaming that you do? Or a video from someone you can recommend? Beautiful work as always!
Wow you were't kidding when you said you obsess over the tiny details and it clearly pays off, excellent work! I love the pattern on the end grain veneer and I'll definitely be using that drawer stop trick sometime.
All about the details man! Love that drawer stop trick- glad you enjoyed 🤙
I love the parifin tip on showing your hi spots
Really helps hone in on that fit! Glad you found some useful info 👍
Beautiful work sir and great video. Thank you
You are amazing, just beautiful, thank you
Thank you too, Norm!
More high quality work. Loved the end grain veneer! Thanks again for all that you do!
Glad you liked it! My pleasure man. Thanks for watching!
Nice job, good build, great video editing
Thanks! Editing is tedious, but starting to get the hang of it.
Love the end grain veneer looks brilliant reminds me of end grained cutting board
Thank you! The pattern turned out pretty sweet- definitely a little like a cutting board
Gorgeous!
Really cool piece. Very unusual!
Thanks Tom! Trying to carve my own groove 🤙
WOW!
Particularly loving the endgrain veneer treatment - now I have to switch from stealing the quatersawn logs from the wood pile to stealing the riftsawn logs ! ( yeah, I know, they are the same logs - I just have to mill them differently lol)
The drawer stops are SLICK! ... does anyone ever notice you slipping the springs out of their ball point pens while you're waiting for them to do whatever it is you've asked them to do?
Really happy I found your channel - kinda torn between wanting you to go slower and give more detail and these montages, they are quite nice - but don't listen to me, I'm generally an outlier in terms of the videos I like versus the ones that Google likes lol.
Can't wait for your next creation!
Thanks so much Greg! Aren’t those drawer snaps the coolest thing ever?? I’m constantly hoarding crap pens haha And I know exactly what you mean as I’m torn between the artsy flow and a long instructional. I’m sure there will be a balance found as I learn how to do this UA-cam thing more. Really appreciate it man.
Very skilful, impressive.
Thanks Paul!
Excellent work 👌
Much appreciated Garnet!
I love the end grain veneers it’s amazing
Thanks Kenan!
Proper awesome dude. Can’t wait to get my workshop built later this year, having been inspired by folks like you. Keep on trucking brother. 👍
Glad to hear it man- Thank you! Have fun with that shop build!
Incredible... as always.
Thanks Dave!
That’s beautiful work! Very impressed with the end grain veneer.
Thanks so much!
Beautiful work, Nick! It really looks fantastic! 😃
The endgrain idea was fantastic!
Anyway, stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
Thanks so much! Glad you like it!
That is amazing craftsmanship!! I need to find a mentor, unless you are offering
Love you work.
A lot of nice little tricks in this one. Very informative and awesome work. The epoxy is a perfect solution for the end grain veneer. Really enjoy your vids..
Thank you! So glad you're liking the videos. Really appreciate it!
awesome work
Definitely my favorite new channel!
Awesome! Thanks Charles!
Stunning build. I absolutely love your style. True talent my man.
-Ben
Thanks so much, Ben!
1:04 😁 me in 1994 as a aprentis. fair play to you 🍻 🍀. BTW. nice skil you have. 👍☝️💯💯
That’s about the same time I was born! 😆 thank you! Very much enjoying the opportunity to learn the craft.
Fantastic work~! You definitely focus on the details. I really like the paraffin technique and would like to learn more about that~! As one mentioned down below, I'm not a big fan of the fast-frame videos, but I know it helps you to manage the length of the video. I personally don't mind watching a 20-minute video when there's so much to see and learn. Thanks so much for sharing~! I hit the subscribe button and am looking forward to more of your content~!!
Amazing Work, love where the channel is going, and it seems you enjoy talk over the video, keep up the good work and the good vibes !!
Thanks so much! Glad to have ya!
Awesome project and I love hidden drawers.
Sent over from Blacktail Studio's Channel, Keep it up!
Thanks so much! Glad to have ya!
Beautiful design. Super loving the end grain veneer swoop. Also loved the pacing on your edit. Well done man
Thanks! Glad you liked the video- sort of starting to figure this editing thing out. Much appreciated man!
Hi nick love your work beautiful design very original very impressive thank you for sharing your knowledge and skills much appreciated cheers Phil 😊🇮🇪✊
Great job! Beatiful dovetails! I no longer have a shop as I'm now in a retirement home,, but I use to have a great shop about the same size as yours. I did custom furniture, mostly mission style.
i bought a lot of tools fro Lie Nielsen. I enjoyed making hand cut dovetails. Cheers!
Very cool, Herb. Thank you. I’m only a couple years into the craft and excited to see where a lifetime of practice takes me.
Outstanding piece, love those stops.
Aren’t those nifty? Thank you! Glad you enjoyed the build
Fellow detail obsesser here. I love the end grain veneer as others have said. I think the hidden gem of this video was the drawer stop concept. As a former Army guy, I am now regretting every cheap, clickable Skilcraft ballpoint pen I threw away.
Haha isn’t that just so much better than screwing a block down after the drawer’s installed? The click on entry is super satisfying too. Glad you liked the build. Thanks Matt!
really enjoying your vids cant see your page not exploding in subscribers!!!!!
Thanks Randy! Man I hope so! much appreciated man.
as you said "Perfect" work
You’re a wonderful craftsman...Great work...Enjoyed the vid. Thanks
Thanks so much Tom! Glad you liked it
Great video! You have yourself another subscriber!
Hey thanks so much!
love this!!! your skill level is so beyond mine!!! love your videos, hope you get so much more kliks
i will tell my woodworking friends all about your channel
Great video, with superb tips. I’m not a great fan of super sped up video, but the moments when it’s normal speed and we see you’re craftsmanship at work, is sublime. Fantastic results and I’ll definitely be pilfering some ideas from this for my own tool chest. Nice job. Liked and subbed 👍
Thanks Chris! Glad you liked it
I love the work! Your channel is going to explode! Amazing job!
Thanks Brandon! I hope so 😂 appreciate the support man
Beautiful Twins !!!
Thanks Steve!
Brilliant stuff :)
Great chanel and nice work one the nightstand.
Thanks James!
Brilliant 😊
You are an amazing craftsman, and I instantly subscribed. I did feel it was extremely fast paced and felt lost at certain parts. That's probably because I am more interested in the woodworking process, time and skill, rather than the artistic nature of the video process. Keep up the great work.
Thanks Chris! Definitely hard to balance time w/ all the ground I cover. Still figuring this whole video thing out and the best way to present this. Appreciate the feedback!
Dude that sick! Definitely subscribed
Thanks Daniel!
You’re very talented! This is an awesome build!
Wow thank you very much!
Excellent!
Many thanks!
When you say " I am pretty good at over complicating design," I actually like that idea. It is inspiring to me and on my next project I will try to make it more challenging. I will start more slowly on perfecting "obsessing on the details."
It’s certainly not the most efficient way to work, but it certainly does show some quick improvement.
Nick is the truth!
Nicely done, very professional in every aspect. Subscribed!
Thank you! Really appreciate the support!
Lovely 😍
Exellent job..
Thanks so much!
luxurious
Thank you!
Loving the edit on this one!
Thanks Bryan! Decided to quit messing around and just make a movie already.
Hi there, is that candle wax that you've melted into the wood using the steaming iron? great build and video , love the quality of your workmanship. Subscribed
Damn! Awesome build man you are super talented I dig the end brain and your approach to dovetails
Thanks Garrett! Really pleased with how they came together. That table saw tail trick saves so much time for waste removal.
@@SawyerDesign yeah I’ve never seen that approach other than you, do you use a thin kerf blade?
Yeah it’s a custom 7.6deg (1:7.5) grind in a thin kerf Forrest wwii
Found you recently. Absolutely love your build videos.
Thanks so much Scott!
Do you hav a set of plans for these that you would sell. I’d love to challenge myself with this. Your work is amazing.
That was an excellent build! Thank you for taking the time to share your work.
Side note: saw the same end grain work on a dresser by Pedulla studio (same channel name).
Awesome.
👍👍👍👏👏👏👏👏Gracias mil veces gracias. Trabajos que inspiran. Abrazos y muchas bendiciones. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Glad to share the spark brother! Glad you liked it!
