In Ressurection the Ripley clone was supposed to have secs with the critter but that was scrapped. And its original design was too disturbing so they had to tone its look down too. Seems they simply took some of the creepier ideas that weren't used for Ressurrection and put them in the new film.

I'm 46 now and never would've thought they'd take the franchise this far but the hybrid in Romulus brought back those same feelings without the nightmares. It was the most horrifying scene since Alien Resurrection.

I've never had to pause a scene in a movie before, but watching this film at 3am alone I the dark and seeing that eery part where he just stares them down genuinely freaked me tf out
If it had been it would have undoubtedly been born almost as soon as the pregnant lady shit herself with the goo. She would have likely made it to the pod and been fine but she felt obviously ran over by a truck, so she thought it was going help her. We all I hope conclude the older synthetic was looking out for WY interest in trying to have her take that, fooling Andy into saying it could help. Could being a huge gray area. Going on past effects the fetus would have likely been born too quick and likely mutated just as badly, only it would have probably been born looking and acting more human, until just like Fiefield in Prometheus that slowly was becoming a xenomorphic hybrid and aggressive ( they cut out a great transformation scene of this in Prometheus) so just like the baby's adult predecessors, it would have been a quick to feel icky, but within a day the person turns into a xenohybrid. Also in Prometheus the goo infected the sperm of Shaw's husband so a trilobite was a human xeno hybrid too with additional engineer DNA it was basically a facehugger giant as it mutated so early that no human form took hold. This is also a three way mutation and the baby would baby would have grown to this or worse only in 24 hours. This occured in about 24 minutes. I'm sure that shit had been synthesized like crazy. Hence the more scary as hell it had become. The newborn was like a twisted xeno that used a xeno give birth live as a surrogate mom. Ripley was it's actual biological mother. And he was actually a xeno you felt a bit sorry for, as he had emotions. Xenos don't feel attachments, they run on instincts. Guarding the alien queens out of duty not love. Walter tried to explain the difference in covenant. No one in this company ever learns.
You can tell it wasn’t CGI and that made it very awesome. IMO, Practical Effects makes the movie feel more real because the Effects gives the characters flaws and irregularities that are part of real Life. It is better that CGI.

The creature looks ridiculous, even more so than the giant squid facehugger in Prometheus. Kind of makes you appreciate the original Giger designs and how believable they appear from the evolutionary standpoint. Alien is indeed a perfect organism, unmatched to this day

I’ve been following Rob’s career for 10 years now. Basketball world had high hopes for him, but his height was not enough since he struggled to put on weight to be able to compete at the highest level. I’m very happy he was able to do this move and I hope to see more of him!

@@MyFart21So you aren’t an Alien fan at all because literally every single movie has a reference or entire theme based upon the prior movie 😅Rain being similar to Ripley was for the girls of THIS generation who didn’t experience her back then. It’s a rebirth for continued generations. They did a solid, solid job on this film. Some of the actors could have been better, but to be honest it kept the “vibe” of the original 80’s films so so well! Especially with the half-bad acting & the “something in the water?” Like not a sane person or good actor would even say that before jumping out of the water onto another surface, or out of the room completely. They started looking around at the water 😂it’s because of the old school style. They kept that style, which I appreciated more than a lot of other things! I have to say I completely hated Rain’s scene where she killed a bunch of the Aliens at the end…& floated through the acid slime in zeroG. Like, come on. We all knew it would end with her opening the door & having the xeno’s float into space. But that scene was atrocious as a lifetime fan 😂brought me back to AvP: Requiem lmfao. So I agree there were some drawbacks I guess haha. But overall, wayyyyyy better than Covenant/Prometheus, Requiem 😂
Personally, I think that people need to stop whining about the perceived lack of originality in Romulus. Ridley Scott tried to break away from the "traditional" Alien movies, and very few fans liked it at the time
