UPDATE: Matt Reeves has confirmed on twitter on that his Batman WILL take place in the DCEU, and that he intended it to be "...not about the others in the Universe. That it wouldn't be filled with cameos servicing other stories -- that it would be a BATMAN story." This is what I speculate he meant in the video. Awesome confirmation!
Joker and the jaws shark have a lot in common. It's what you don't see, or know that intrigues and terrifies you. Please leave joker alone. Or treat it like a horror movie where joker just terrifies his victims and leave his origin a mystery. WB only cares about $$$. They have zero thoughts about story lines, continuity, previous stories, or what we think as fans. If they make money to keep the industry turning they don't care. It heartbreaking to know the characters and stories we love are treated with such little disregard. I wish I had a positive outlook, but I've grown cynical. Welcome back. At 5 minutes you articulate the thing thats been bugging me for months now. Thanks Man. Stumbled here as I will be watching a certain edit of JL later as the original one I saw was, IMO awful in more places than it was good. I really enjoyed Suicide Squad apart from the "final impending CGI doom of planetary destruction" which had been done to death by 3/4 separate Marvel franchises (not to mention yer Hellboys, Potters etc etc) by that time and actually needed some kinda threat/disaster as left field as the Squad themselves to put the cherry on the cake. OK back to your vid....
WB are going through a continuous development stage where they're putting all these ideas up, then putting many of them into development and looking for which ones come together. On Man of Steel 2, they are keeping that under wraps until Superman's resurrection. I love that they're committed to his resurrection all the way through and want an impact like his death was. Flash, well they're decided to cement it as the Flashpoint story in order to keep it out of the DCEU continuity as it's own story like the Batman will, WW2, Aquaman etc and not fall into the MCU trap where it's the same movie again and again and again.
Reeves just clarified his comments and confirmed it's still in the DCEU, just a separate story a la Wonder Woman. That's one nonsensical mystery solved.
