Gojo's death didn't feel conclusive to me. Maybe it's subconscious cope, but I feel like there are a lot of signs pointing to Gojo returning. Even it just ends up with him serving as a distraction in the final fight vs Kenjaku to mirror how Kenjaku caused Gojo to get sealed in the prison realm. That could also mirror how Todo distracted Mahito, which allowed Yuji to get off a full-power black flash.
Nah, you're right about some aspect feel too inconclusive. It's not that he has to accomplish all his goals as the video mentioned, but it just seems like an underwhelming conclusion and barely any reaction for his death so far when we stop to get so many reactions and commentary during the fight itself. Even if this does end up the end for gojo, there will almost certainly still be some flashbacks and scenes that should make it feel more fitting. I already felt like there was some foreshadowing and precedent for gojo returning, but it's very possible I've read too much into a few things.

I honestly don't blame people for being angry. We were hammered time and time again that Gojo was the strongest, but then in one panel he wasn't. It was a shock to the system with no warning. Sure there were some signs of it, like with Sukuna's planning. But we didn't even get a teaser, like a conversation with Kenjaku being asked who does he think will actually win but is cut off before answering?
I knew plot wise he had to lose, but underwhelming the way he went out and so far little impact in the story since then. His birth in-story changed the balance of the world, yet his death brushed over.

The only problem I have is that Gojo vs Sukuna didn't even really weaken Sukuna any, in fact it only made him stronger. At most, we could say that Sukuna can now no longer open his DE, but physically speaking it's as if he took a Full Restore.

Personally i like the idea of gojo returning as a natural spirit to take the position of tengen. He'd no longer be the strongest but he'd still be helping keep the balance stable whilst watching his students continue to grow and fill the shoes he left behind

The only reasons I want him back are that his death felt pretty anti-climactic, his death makes the rest of the cast seem unable to pull off what he couldn’t and their growth into being able to do so currently feels a little cheap because the strongest already failed, and because of one last thing: the potential to just give him a better end (and the opportunity to bury Geto). I don’t mind him dying, I expected it to happen when the fight started, but just as I thought beforehand, I was disappointed in how/why he lost and felt like it served no purpose other than to remove Gojo from the equation so that there were real stakes again. Now that it’s happened, it feels more like the scales are flipped and the heroes stand no chance. I know this isn’t true, but it feels like finishing the narrative is the only real reason why.
His death was poorly executed, yes. It really felt like a last-minute decision. Then again, Gojo giving Sukuna and Kenjaku a month's break before fighting was dumb writing too. i think you are kind of wrong about every sorcerer dying full of regrets and unacomplished goals, especially about Nanami. as Nanami said when fighting Mahito inside his domain "I have no regrets" the flashback that follows tells us Nanami always wanted a purpose in life, when he worked at the agency he felt he acomplished nothing, but when he was a sorcerer people looked up to him, thanked him, he saved lives, had purpose. At the end when Mahito was going to kill him, he died knowing he had a good life, and left the rest up to his student, who he knew would be up to the task. the only thing you can argue about having unacomplished tasks was going to Malasya, but that doesnt hold much weight. Nobara died knowing she lived true to herself till the end, her only broken promise being she didnt get to reunite with Saori, but outside of that, as she herself stated "I lived a good life" (although she might have just said that to make Yuji feel a bit better). Geto died without completing his dream of a "monkey" free world, but at least he died in a way that had meaning and next to his one and only best friend. But Gojo straight up did almost nothing, the only thing he himself actually acomplished were stopping Megumi being sold to the zenin and stopping Yuji and Yuta's executions, all of wich were done offscreen, outside of that he killed Hanami and Toji. but he couldnt save Riko or Megumi, couldnt even fulfill his promise of telling Megumi about Toji, and he couldnt even beat Sukuna or leave him with long lasting damage (except maybe his DE) cause Sukuna healed himself, restored his CE AND obtained an even more powerful dismantle. Gojo was just way to important to the plot to be killed with none of his promises being acomplished
It honestly depends on how he comes back. A popular theory is that Higuruma will trap sukuna in a domain and charge him with the murder of Gojo, where it will be revealed that he's innocent bc Gojo is still alive. If it's done in a creative way like that, i wouldn't mind, but if he does come back, then Gojo should be severely weakened, assuming the final arc is just a super long final battle. edit: A severaly weakened Gojo would still be a top tier in the verse. Gege can easily just make him slightly stronger or on par with someone like Kenjaku
If sukuna is proved innocent and gojo is alive it would give everyone a reason to run and regroup assuming everyone gets clapped(yuji honored one moment copium) then we get to see 1v1 yuji vs sukuna (Yes i am aware i am smokinh every kind of drug imaginable)

I think Gojo coming back would mean he doesn’t have enough faith in his students to save the jujutsu world, which to me would go against his entire character arc. Especially when you consider he was banking on Yuji,Yuta&Hakari to surpass him one day.

From a narrative perspective, sure, but think about this in universe. None of Gojo's students were anywhere near his level when he died. The strongest of them, Yuta, would have been a hindrance if he had gone out to try to help Gojo against Sukuna even after both of them had lost the use of their domains and Gojo's output was faltering. Now Gojo is dead, Sukuna is stronger than ever, and nothing about his student's abilities would have changed in the time they spent reacting to his battle. Unless Gege has everyone run away and pulls a timeskip, none of Gojo's students have any business whatsoever defeating Sukuna at this point in the story. They're all way too weak. Now from a meta perspective, I think it probably is unlikely that Gojo will return after that sendoff chapter, but I suspect this means we're either heading towards a very unsatisfying defeat of Sukuna against opponents he overwhelmingly outclasses, or (less likely) a "villains win" ending.
I wasn’t the biggest fan of how Gojo’s ending was handled, but honestly, and me saying this as someone whose favorite character in the series is Gojo, I think he was written off well in a thematical sense. His whole theme brilliantly stated by Geto, “Are you the strongest because you’re Gojo Satoru or are you Gojo Satoru because you’re the strongest?”, was explored by Gege very well, and in that sense I feel it would be wrong to have him back. I wouldn't be sure how Gege would handle him coming back, and I do feel some, if not most of the impact would be lost…
Gojo's Death was mishandled supremely, he shouldn't have died offscreen and Sukuna's Heian form being revealed he had it doesn't make sense entirely. Gojo shouldve more severely injured Sukuna and Geto? I dont even know how i feel about him
Gojo was always the strongest. He was always enough. Till he wasn't. Gojo returning to fight alongside his students is the only reasonable way they can defeat Sukuna. Sukuna and Kenjaku together are a threat bigger than i see the good guys being believably able to handle alone. The whole sensei has to die, be sealed or become unable to reach his goals for the sake of the upcoming generation is overdone. Just because no one else has achieved their goals as a sorcerer doesn't mean it should stay that wa. I want to see them all grow. I want them to overcome the fate of failure that every individual faces. Passing it on is not a terrible plot point but why should that always be the case
Imo I could care less. I’m more of a fan of yuji and megumi and how their stories unravel. If he were to come back, it would be a pleasant surprise tho. The people who hate gojo will say it’s lazy writing. The people who love gojo will say that it’s masterclass writing. It’s a lose lose situation.

I believe he comes back as Sukuna did not appear in Gojo's inner world, unlike all the others he killed (Jogo, Kashimo, etc.). Gojo will have a second awakening and will die one last time, taking Sukuna with him. In the end, Sukuna is not even the real antagonist here, its Kenjaku. To preserve balance, they both need to go

In the binding vow DE battle at the start, Go/jo only beats out Sukuna by 0.01s after a utahime boost. Without the boost, Sukuna would have lots of time to Malevolent Kitchen all over Go/jo, probably killing him since the slashes go through infinity even without Mahoraga.
I think Gojo will come back with a different mindset. In bhuddism, enlightenment isn't thinking you're the best. Gojo will return and show a way in which selflessness leads to strength for a sorcerer, which would be the antithesis of what Sukuna represents.

It feels like their death is the relief from it while the living sorcerers keep suffering (which also goes in line with Buddhism). I don't think there will be a satisfying end for anyone in the story. Even if Gojo's students will defeat Sukuna and Kenjaku (which I think they will and a lot of it will be connected to Sukuna's past and Yuji's soul lore), the cost will be so high, it won't feel like a win.

Yuji already fills that role. Sukuna wants to kill all, Yuji wants to die to save all. Sukuna eats people to satisfy himself, Yuji consumes cursed objects to benefit others. Yuji has to be the one to kill Sukuna.
I think gojo's connections to the Buddha could be why he comes back. He might be an exception to the rule of how sorcorers live and die because through his fight with sukuna and through his death he has achieved enlightenment and has become the perfect sorcerer, so far that's been Sukuna but what if he is defeated because of one element of being a sorcerer that he lacks but gojo does not.
Dont get me wrong, i love Gojo. Seeing him return would make me smile and hype as all hell. To me he is "The Honored One" and there is no doubt in my mind that he utterly stomped Sukuna. But the truth is he is gone. I hate to admit it, but his absence created a new sense of urgency in the manga again. And if he returned it would undermine his death amd the feelings that were felt when reading. Despite my initial anger of seeing Gojo died, his death stirred a reaction in me I hadn't felt since the days I read Jiraiyas death. And despite his death I am now even MORE invested in Jujutsu Kaisen. And more so, I now want Sukuna to be taken off his high horse, I want to see this man be demolished. Like we all said before, "Let Gege Cook". RIP Gojo Satoru, you were my GOAT.

Fr I was shocked just as everyone else when 236 happened but within a week a recognized and gave Gege credit for giving Gojo the fight of his life and dying happy peaceful surrounded by his loved ones at the happiest time ,the time he felt the most human of his life. Although some of the words exchanged during that left Gojo lacking like zero mention of Megumi or his students, everything else was done so well by Gege.

I think the problem is that, all those things that make Gojo's death good is only because he is a well written character all around. His death only works in the slightest because he had been astonishingly estabilished earlier in the series, but his death was UNDERWELMING at BEST.

I feel like if Gojo came back, it'd either be at the end or for some limited amount of time, to do one or two things at most. Either in some sort of similar manner to Toji to maybe kill one person or save someone, as a force ghost or to give some answers, or even completely, but after Kenjaku has been killed. Maybe he'll be set it up to be brought back after either Sukuna or Kenjaku has been killed, particularly to lay rest to his best friends body and complete his long-term goals.

I think it really is a coin flip, there is a bunch of reason for both opinions. I personally would like him to come back but I realize no matter what people will be upset regardless of if he comes back or not
NEEDS to come back probably not but would be better if he did come back. Sure gojo can pass the torch on to the students but quite honestly... The students just aren't as interesting as gojo, even gege thinks so as he switched out the protagonist of the manga before it came out and even then yuji quite frankly is kind of a boring character on his own, what made him interesting was sukuna. Gojos just that much of a better character. And it would make narrative sense for gojo to not follow the rules of all the other sorcerers becuase that's basically ALL weve been seeing him doing throughout the series as his time as the strongest. So really the rules truly dont apply to him.
The reason I have in mind on why JJK Fans wants Gojo to come back is that he didn't have a proper closure, he was offscreened. They want him to come back so he can prove a few things to people. 1. That you only need your head to use RCT and 2. That he will fulfill his promises unlike the other sorcerers that passed on This is just pure opinions, I haven't researched on any of them. But it would be pretty cool if Gojo made a binding vow with himself while in the "Limbo state" that he will be revived if he sacrifices his Six Eyes
@@silouhette99 It was kinda offscreened since the previous chapter before he was dead, he was declared the winner and still alive. But right after the next chapter, the very first page was him cut in half which took many people by surprise. There was no sign that Sukuna would use a space-cutting slash before the death, there was no panels that he even made a binding vow or anything to use the space-cutting slash, just insta-death.
I think that Gojo returning would not achieve much, for one he would have to sacrifice something to return, since he cannot awaken twice, so no instant full refill of CE, also infinity can now be easily bypassed by Sukuna, so weakened or possibly having lost six eyes Gojo would not be a threat, but narratively speaking he is a mentor figure who passed down his torch, like Obi-wan to Luke, so now he is no longer needed in the story, and to those that say "oh his death was unfair" or "he has many things to achieve still", that can be said about many characters that we assume are dead: Nobara, Yuki, Nanami, Disaster Curses, Megumi, they all (in my opinion) are dead and yet had so much left to do, Jujutsu Kaisen is very real with it portrayal of death: it feels too fast, sudden and unfair
Well said. It reminds me of Erwin in aot, but that showed it more explicitly. He lived to know the truth of the world, to see beyond the walls he was confined to. But death came for him before he could. People would probably have gotten more upset at his demise if aot didn’t explicitly focus on him letting go of his own personal goals and entrusting the future to his comrades, but the same thing can be said to happen with gojo.

Think about it, 500 or so years ago, a 10S User and a Six eyes Infinity wielder went head to head and came to a stalemate, that reason is because the 10S User pulled out Moharaga, a Moharaga that was untamed and, funnily enough, probably killed the 10S user before the 6 Eyes user could 💀. In the Modern age, not only does Gojo (a 6 Eyes limitless user) go up against Moharaga, but a TAMED Moharaga with the master leading him being the greatest tactician and Jujustu sorcerer in all of history, one who had 2 other techniques to boot (ofcourse he never used his 2nd, secret one, but still). The fact that Gojo beat a tamed, Sukuna CE enhanced Moharaga WHILE having the drawbacks of constantly having to use unlimited void before hand proves and goes to show that he WAS the strongest because he was Satoru Gojo.
Gojo's biggest inner conflict, are you an apple because you are a fruit or are you a fruit because you are an apple still remains unanswered. Also I feel like he has been through a lot, and if he got a happy ending it would feel more satisfying, imo.
Gege's comment of him feeling like "the chapter was missing a chapter or few pages" sums it all. It just means even the author himself feels that there was something missing with the way he killed Gojo. It's almost like Gege was just in a hurry to match his death with him getting sealed in the anime.

I do think Gojo dying or losing against Sukuna is the best for the story, but the way it happened, it being off screen, leaving his head and heart intact with his ability for RCT filled was a little ridiculous. I always thought he should lose to Sukuna but his actual final fight should be again Kenny so he could successfully bury his best friend.
Gojo is my favorite character. That being said, I don't want him to come back; he's legitimately more impactful in death than he was in life. Besides, we don't need another Byakuya situation.

I think the point about Gojo coming back weak would be especially interesting because it harkens back to Geto's question "Are you Gojo Satoru because you are the strongest, or are you the Strongest because you are Gojo Satoru?" While I personally would love for Gojo to come back, his farewell chapter pretty much confirmed he's dead. If he didn't have such a love affair for Sukuna then him coming back for a round 2 makes sense. Instead, it would just be antithetical to his entire "he was so strong I finally felt like a normal person" glazing speech. Gojo is a power house jobber on the level of Darth Vader. He can handle scrubs no problem, but put anyone halfway comparable in the room and he gets folded every time. He should just stay dead

Idk I don’t see the students winning without gojo without crazy plot armor and that would just ruin the story for me but we’ll have to see how yuji and Mr lawyer do against sukuna them and yuta are their only chances of victory against sukuna without gojo
The way Gojo's death traumatized the whole community into making dozens of theories of how he's coming back is why it's so good. The hero don't always wins, the most popular characters might no make it. That's why Nanami's death hurt so much for example, this makes the story get written like life, anything can happen to anyone at any point, not some cliche good-guys-win bullshit, hell, I'm not even sure they WILL win.
by that logic yuji should be dead before he even fully lands in front of sukuna. don't give gaygay too much credit. gojo is a side character mentor who was fighting a main villain who hadn't had his conflict with the protagonist resolved yet. the plot armor was incredibly strong with sukuna. so all he did was follow a typical shounen trope and execute it even more poorly than it's usually performed. yuji should have absolutely no chance in hell to beat sukuna but i'm willing to bet my left nut that's exactly what he'll do because the story needs to go a certain way. if the story is truly following how real life would go then realistically, sukuna and kenjaku should win and end the story. which is what i actually hope happens at this point so the story can at least make some semblance of logical sense in it's conclusion.

GeGe easily could have showed it right after celebrating Gojo won, Jjust show the slice on final page, then the jump to after life in next chapter. There is enough mystery about Yuji to justify a power up to get close to Sukuna. Kenny has said Sukuna and Yuji will be the balance to world for a reason. Kenny maybe uses Yuji as vessel for merger and Yuji can harness it. Having to awaken after basically dying in the process. I can see most dying and maybe Yuji can collect there souls and CE/CT.
I feel like Gojo should comeback but not to fight Sukuna but to challenge Kenjaku (it doesn't have to be a physical battle) because Kenjaku is to Gojo what Sukuna is to Yuji someone who took away their best friends from them and ruined their life and death.
We had a new magazine cover with Gojo and Kenjaku, and another one with Yuji and Sukuna. Hence why people are theorizing something with that potentially having more meaning.
I have no issue with how gojo died, but the conversation he had in the afterlife was stupid. Completely and utterly ridiculous, it didn't make sense at all in how the fight between Gojo and Sukuna was written, and the amount of difficulty Sukuna underwent. It made no sense that Gojo thought he had a way to beat him aside from the Blueprint he acquired from Mahoraga (From Gojo's perspective Mahoraga). Sukuna even states he NEEDED Mahoraga to beat Gojo.
This video simultaneously illustrates why I generally dislike the way discussions about Gojo's return go while pointing out, but not fully exploring, why there is another more sensible alternative to how that could happen. First of all, I agree that having him return as the powerhouse he was would be bad for the history, that is the point where I agree with you and the one most people seem to make. It is also (the way I see it) the wrong way to tackle his return and makes the entire discussion fruitless in a sense. Gojo returning without his powers (maybe a binding vow that takes away his technique or even cursed energy as a whole?) is where I think we should focus. Here I have to disagree with you, not because of your conclusions (most of them anyways) but because of the angle you tackled it from. His return shouldn't be a way to accomplish the things he set out to but couldn't as the honored one (not that he can't for some of them, like the talk with Megumi, but it shouldn't be the point or reason for his return) but a new step for Gojo Satoru. Like you said, Gojo has been defined so far by his strength. It was his strength that ended up birthing most of his characteristics and experiences (some because he is strong, others because the fact he is strong threw him into that situation like with the whole Amanai and Toji thing) with him having to basically carry the world on his back or take responsibility for what goes wrong on it. Because of that, the logical conclusion to his character arc isn't really just his legacy as the strongest, that is the honored one's arc, but also seeing past it and finally being able to live outside of that. Live as one of the weak. Live as a human. Live as Satoru Gojo. The ultimate conclusion to him is not dying at the hands of Sukuna (again, that is the conclusion to the strongest sorcerer) but living as someone whose strength ISN'T his defining characteristic, that can finally stop being so isolated and lonely even when surrounded by others. Yes, I know you kinda touched on this point, but I think there was a mistake there. You don't need a full character arc to make that happen. It is already there. The arc isn't seeing all the steps of him going this new path (unless Gege wants to go the Solo Leveling route and make a bunch of extra chapters showing in more detail what happens after the history and manga ends as a farewell to the series, which I find somewhat unlikely, but would not complain about). It is seeing him getting to start it, to take the first step. The man who has always been defined by his strength, trapped by it even, finally gets to live life not bound by it, to not be the honored one, but simply Satoru Gojo. Considering the building to that as pretty much already been done through Gojo's entire arc and that conversation after his death ("Go North to become someone new"), I think what is left could be done in like 2 chapters, with one being his return, still during the battle (even though I don't think he should fight anymore) and another ("slightly longer" as in "about 20 pages" in contrast to a lot of the recent ones that seem to have less than that) after the fight is over. Keep in mind, I am also not saying the entire first chapter should be about Gojo, just some of it.
The way i can see Gojo coming back is him sacrificing his six eyes to increase his RCT as a binding vow. It would play into his character really well with him relinquishing the title of the strongest and having faith in his allies
Yea this is the scenario that I heavily agree with over him returning at full power. He would truly become a side character assisting the main guys who would have more potential in taking down Sukuna than he does and GEGE WOULDN’T HAVE ANY REASON TO HATE HIM ANYMORE since he can’t spam his OP abilities anymore and very likely all of his OP techniques will have immense cooldowns to recharge his cursed energy the normal way. This would also shift his focus over to perhaps Kenjaku since he is in no state to fight Sukuna especially at his current power. Gojo transcends and becomes Tengen. Gojos Cousin inherits SIx Eyes (but not limitless) and takes his place as the strongest after defeating Sukuna. Yuji uses soul swap to save Megumi.
While I don't think Gojo is entirely finished, I also don't think he can come back as a full character. In my mind, Gojo has one scene left in him, one scene where he can grow past his greatest weakness - his inability to work well with others. I think Gojo's disembodied torso can revive long enough to distract or neutralize Sukuna and give his students a key opening, but ultimately still be killed by Sukuna, (or kill himself in a Yuki Tsukumo, since he can't very well survive without a stomach). I think he's going to work with his students, give them his final words, and ascend, allowing him to fully live out his buddhavista symbolism by spreading wisdom to his pupils before ascending to nirvana. In essence, while I don't think he's going to be a full character, I still think he has one more scene in him.
Honestly, gege’s biggest mistake was just killing gojo and keeping sukuna alive I mean don’t get my wrong both sukuna and gojo can easily solo the entire verse but after that unlimited hollow purple both gojo and sukuna should’ve died that way the main cast actually have a chance of saving Megumi and defeating kenjaku.

It wouldn't make sense to come back stronger because it would mean he wasn't perfect. the only significant change would be for him to abandon his powers and the Six-Eyes to become peace itself. true perfection comes from non-action. This is not what will teach Sukuna “love” because he despises these actions. Sukuna needs to be defeated, incapacitated and spared. It's not an act of kindness, it's just because he's an insignificant fish. He needs to beg for death and feel true fear, like Mahito.
You are correct, plus Gojo already said that Sukuna wasn’t even using all his strength, so Sukuna would already just clap Gojo, knowing how to surpass his infinity and still have a lot of techniques that have not been shown yet.

I couldn’t agree more. Think about how much Gojo’s death shocked and surprised all of us in real life. Gojo impacted some readers in real life. Now imagine you are his actual student witnessing him lose. This is the greatest catalyst for Yuji (with Megumi still being taken by Sukuna and carrying the weight of so many lost ally’s on his shoulders), Yuta (the likely second strongest in verse on our side, who wanted to help Gojo during the fight), and Hikari (who acknowledged Gojo but no other major sorcerers). We have a lot to look forward to in terms of hype and growth for those three. Especially Yuji imo.
Cursed Technique Yapping. Maximum Output: The problem with Gojo's death for me is basically how it was executed. In one second, we have Gojo almost being declared the victor by Kusakabe. Then in the next, he's dead? We can't even say that it's similar to other deaths like Nanami's or Nobara's. For Nanami's death, we could see that his situation was beyond salvation the moment he appeared after being burned by Jogo. With Nobara, although more similar, we still have some warnings and reactions about it from Mahito's plan to Yuji's reaction. Actually, the fact that we even react to their deaths like that makes them more impactful in-universe than Gojo's was, where we immediately move on from it like it was some random dude that just died. There's also how he seemingly looked satisfied at the end. How could he be satisfied? I get that he's glad he doesn't need to hold the burden as the sole strongest and the solution to all problems anymore, but now there's a seemingly invincible calamity that's about to fight his students and he doesn't even show to even be a little bit worried? He mentions something about telling Megumi about Toji and then doesn't mention them ever again. It just feels like he cared more about reaching Sukuna than actually making sure that the people he cares about don't die horrible deaths. That isn't mentioning how meaningless most of Gojo's efforts felt because Sukuna was supposedly holding back. Like, what was the point in all the effort the students had in freeing him, all of Gojo's efforts, if Sukuna just resets his health bar through Reincarnation, but also seems to be stronger than before? I genuinely hope that they actually have something that catches Sukuna off-guard, or that Gojo's actually did something noteworthy to Sukuna in the longrun other than give him Dimensional Cleave. Or esle, all the pain and effort the cast went through to unseal Gojo would be for nothing. Speaking of the students, this is something that personally bothers me. Like, genuinely, how are theu supposed to win agaisnt a Sukuna that is seemingly stronger than the one that fought Gojo? Yuta and Hakari? They're weaker than chapter 234 Gojo who was low on Reverse Cursed Technique Output and could be considered hindrances. Maki? We saw a nerfed 15F Sukuna matching her in hand-to-hand combat when she was being assisted by Yuji. What difference would she make here other than a single surprise attack? Especially when Sukuna knows of her existence. Yuji? He wasn't even mentioned to be a possible threat by *anyone.* Not by Kenjaku, not by the other students, not even by Gojo. And certainly he isn't considered a threat by Sukuna himself. Like, we all talk about Yuji having resistance to Sukuna's Cursed Techniques, which isn't impossible, but do you guys really believe that Yuji would manage to deal as much or even more damage than Gojo did against Sukuna in a way that makes sense? Do you guys have any ways to believe that the students have a hair of a chance other than saying "Let Gege cook"? Personally, I don't see it going any way other than Sukuna losing because his IQ suddenly dropped to two braincells after beating Gojo. Like, logically speaking, he should slice Higuruma the moment he saw him because he knows how his Domain Expansion works. This is probably just me being upset at Gege's recent choices and unknowingly ignoring other factors. This could very well just me being angry at how Gojo essentially became a joke since he barely achieved anything noteworthy throughout the series (other than saving Yuji, Yuta and Megumi). There are so many cool theories around, that Nobara is alive and has the last finger Gojo had and will use it to hit Sukuna's soul, that Gojo's gonna be brought back by Yuta and instead of fighting Sukuna alone this time will rely on others ( which is something Gojo has never done, hence development ). If he's just dead, what a waste of a massively popular and cool character.
Sukuna has always been in the "purgatory" of said character death. Jogo had it,kashimo had it.. Soo!!!!!! When sukuna does Die and goes to "purgatory " what if Gojo there, with him because Gojo being the one to tell sukuna where he went wrong would make a cool plot thread for the ideology he was trying to tell him his flaws....it could be a yuji and gojo talkjstu to sukuna. It Would be a reason for gojo to appear within JJK. Without it being an ODA
I don’t think even Gege would leave Gojo dead without fleshing him out more considering there is still so much we don’t know about him. At the very least we get flashbacks like we’re getting with Takaba vs Kenjaku. Gojo should comeback but not as the main focus, but more as an assist character.
Gojo was never the main focus he's always been a side character for all intensive purposes, gojo coming back would ruin all his character building at this point if he came back so easily why would there be any stakes in the story or having gojos development revolve around his students like yuta, megumi, yuji and the rest of jujutsu high , if he came back and solved everyone's problems then he never had trust in his students to carry on his legacy in the first place

I think you are kinda dropping the ball on the explanation because it seems like your theory revolves around Gojo coming back right now for this fight. The problem is how he died. Lets compare Jiraiya senseis death. It made sense. It was fair. We saw it coming. And it was built up. Jiraiya wasnt dogging pain the entire fight then the next chapter opened with him suddenly being dead. Its so insulting to the readers to kill him like that. Off screen. After making him win the whole fight, seemingly easily at that. Then just a middle finger "lol sike". So insulting and felt like the ONLY reason he killed him that specific way, was to spite the fans.
what if gojo came back but a curse, at first his priority is to kill, Sukuna after killing sukuna. Gojo lost his humanity. Now Curse Gojo is the final enemy boss, now his friends and students need to stop gojo. now yuji have to surpass OP sukuna just to have a chance to win over curse gojo.

I personally think he’ll come back but it will be under very specific circumstances. Since the end of his story mirrored that of Toji. wearing similar clothes, leaving behind his students (Toji leaving Megumi), first defeating sukuna to losing to him, as well as gojo fighting megumi’s body to put a cherry on top. Because of this, I think there is a possibility that he will be temporarily revived similar to the way that toji was brought back during shibuya and he may even help his student or even test their strength, similar to what toji did. I think it would be poetic for gojo to temporarily come back so he can see that he was able to fulfill his goal of creating a stronger society of jujutsu sorcerers, allowing him to truly die without regrets, similar to toji once again

@@narutolol3199 I should clarify that this is just my opinion and could totally be wrong but this quote reinforces the role that Gojo is a teacher. Therefore the narrative implication (to me) is that this fight with Sukuna is the culmination of all of his teachings to his students. Him dying to Sukuna doesn't mean that he "lost" if you look at it in that way. His students carrying on his will and defeating Sukuna is his victory. Hence the "winning even if you die". Kinda like the other saying "Lost the battle, but won the war" or however it goes.
It just feels cheap for this to be the end. Gojo spent like 90 chapters out of the story and was the goal everyone strives for and they developed and excelled but he comes back, does nothing and then gets offscreened. This video is a great justification but Gojos story is kind of a failure. The only satisfying way for the narrative to resolve this is if Gojo comes back different. Tengen after all their fuck ups deserves to be replaced as an example
I believe Gojo coming back would be perfectly in line with his character. Remember, Gojo is an extremely prideful fighter that refuses to give up, Ive seen people try and argue thematics and why it would ruin his character if he returned but it wouldnt ruin anything in the slightest, everything about Gojo returning lines up with his character, from his excessive pride of wanting to win, wanting to protect his students at all costs, his divine nature as the Enlightened One and even down to his very primal nature as a human being, there is nothing more perfect than him returning and it even makes sense for the story as the last few chapters were Sukunas rise and now having Gojo back and most likely amped up with new abilities it would now put Sukuna in a vulnerable position as a villain as the heroes are now getting the upper hand, I mean the same thing happened in Bleach during the Aizen arc and JJK is heavily inspired by Bleach.

Gojo's death didn't feel conclusive to me. Maybe it's subconscious cope, but I feel like there are a lot of signs pointing to Gojo returning. Even it just ends up with him serving as a distraction in the final fight vs Kenjaku to mirror how Kenjaku caused Gojo to get sealed in the prison realm. That could also mirror how Todo distracted Mahito, which allowed Yuji to get off a full-power black flash.

Even if this does end up the end for gojo, there will almost certainly still be some flashbacks and scenes that should make it feel more fitting. I honestly don't blame people for being angry. We were hammered time and time again that Gojo was the strongest, but then in one panel he wasn't. It was a shock to the system with no warning. Sure there were some signs of it, like with Sukuna's planning. But we didn't even get a teaser, like a conversation with Kenjaku being asked who does he think will actually win but is cut off before answering?
I knew plot wise he had to lose, but underwhelming the way he went out and so far little impact in the story since then. His birth in-story changed the balance of the world, yet his death brushed over.

Personally i like the idea of gojo returning as a natural spirit to take the position of tengen. He'd no longer be the strongest but he'd still be helping keep the balance stable whilst watching his students continue to grow and fill the shoes he left behind

The only reasons I want him back are that his death felt pretty anti-climactic, his death makes the rest of the cast seem unable to pull off what he couldn’t and their growth into being able to do so currently feels a little cheap because the strongest already failed, and because of one last thing: the potential to just give him a better end (and the opportunity to bury Geto). I don’t mind him dying, I expected it to happen when the fight started, but just as I thought beforehand, I was disappointed in how/why he lost and felt like it served no purpose other than to remove Gojo from the equation so that there were real stakes again. Now that it’s happened, it feels more like the scales are flipped and the heroes stand no chance. I know this isn’t true, but it feels like finishing the narrative is the only real reason why.
His death was poorly executed, yes. It really felt like a last-minute decision.
Then again, Gojo giving Sukuna and Kenjaku a month's break before fighting was dumb writing too.

i think you are kind of wrong about every sorcerer dying full of regrets and unacomplished goals, especially about Nanami.
as Nanami said when fighting Mahito inside his domain "I have no regrets" the flashback that follows tells us Nanami always wanted a purpose in life, when he worked at the agency he felt he acomplished nothing, but when he was a sorcerer people looked up to him, thanked him, he saved lives, had purpose. At the end when Mahito was going to kill him, he died knowing he had a good life, and left the rest up to his student, who he knew would be up to the task. the only thing you can argue about having unacomplished tasks was going to Malasya, but that doesnt hold much weight.
Nobara died knowing she lived true to herself till the end, her only broken promise being she didnt get to reunite with Saori, but outside of that, as she herself stated "I lived a good life" (although she might have just said that to make Yuji feel a bit better).
Geto died without completing his dream of a "monkey" free world, but at least he died in a way that had meaning and next to his one and only best friend.
But Gojo straight up did almost nothing, the only thing he himself actually acomplished were stopping Megumi being sold to the zenin and stopping Yuji and Yuta's executions, all of wich were done offscreen, outside of that he killed Hanami and Toji. but he couldnt save Riko or Megumi, couldnt even fulfill his promise of telling Megumi about Toji, and he couldnt even beat Sukuna or leave him with long lasting damage (except maybe his DE) cause Sukuna healed himself, restored his CE AND obtained an even more powerful dismantle.
Gojo was just way to important to the plot to be killed with none of his promises being acomplished
It honestly depends on how he comes back. A popular theory is that Higuruma will trap sukuna in a domain and charge him with the murder of Gojo, where it will be revealed that he's innocent bc Gojo is still alive. If it's done in a creative way like that, i wouldn't mind, but if he does come back, then Gojo should be severely weakened, assuming the final arc is just a super long final battle.
edit: A severaly weakened Gojo would still be a top tier in the verse. Gege can easily just make him slightly stronger or on par with someone like Kenjaku

From a narrative perspective, sure, but think about this in universe. None of Gojo's students were anywhere near his level when he died. The strongest of them, Yuta, would have been a hindrance if he had gone out to try to help Gojo against Sukuna even after both of them had lost the use of their domains and Gojo's output was faltering. Now Gojo is dead, Sukuna is stronger than ever, and nothing about his student's abilities would have changed in the time they spent reacting to his battle.
Unless Gege has everyone run away and pulls a timeskip, none of Gojo's students have any business whatsoever defeating Sukuna at this point in the story. They're all way too weak.
Now from a meta perspective, I think it probably is unlikely that Gojo will return after that sendoff chapter, but I suspect this means we're either heading towards a very unsatisfying defeat of Sukuna against opponents he overwhelmingly outclasses, or (less likely) a "villains win" ending.
Gojo was the only reason I was interested in the series. Now that I know he died, I will put it in the backlog of anime that I will never watch.

His whole theme brilliantly stated by Geto, “Are you the strongest because you’re Gojo Satoru or are you Gojo Satoru because you’re the strongest?”, was explored by Gege very well, and in that sense I feel it would be wrong to have him back. I wouldn't be sure how Gege would handle him coming back, and I do feel some, if not most of the impact would be lost…

Gojo returning to fight alongside his students is the only reasonable way they can defeat Sukuna. Sukuna and Kenjaku together are a threat bigger than i see the good guys being believably able to handle alone. The whole sensei has to die, be sealed or become unable to reach his goals for the sake of the upcoming generation is overdone. Just because no one else has achieved their goals as a sorcerer doesn't mean it should stay that wa. I want to see them all grow. I want them to overcome the fate of failure that every individual faces. Passing it on is not a terrible plot point but why should that always be the case

I think Gojo will come back with a different mindset. In bhuddism, enlightenment isn't thinking you're the best. Gojo will return and show a way in which selflessness leads to strength for a sorcerer, which would be the antithesis of what Sukuna represents.

It feels like their death is the relief from it while the living sorcerers keep suffering (which also goes in line with Buddhism). I don't think there will be a satisfying end for anyone in the story. Even if Gojo's students will defeat Sukuna and Kenjaku (which I think they will and a lot of it will be connected to Sukuna's past and Yuji's soul lore), the cost will be so high, it won't feel like a win.

Yuji already fills that role. Sukuna wants to kill all, Yuji wants to die to save all. Sukuna eats people to satisfy himself, Yuji consumes cursed objects to benefit others. Yuji has to be the one to kill Sukuna.
I think gojo's connections to the Buddha could be why he comes back. He might be an exception to the rule of how sorcorers live and die because through his fight with sukuna and through his death he has achieved enlightenment and has become the perfect sorcerer, so far that's been Sukuna but what if he is defeated because of one element of being a sorcerer that he lacks but gojo does not.
Dont get me wrong, i love Gojo. Seeing him return would make me smile and hype as all hell. To me he is "The Honored One" and there is no doubt in my mind that he utterly stomped Sukuna.
But the truth is he is gone. I hate to admit it, but his absence created a new sense of urgency in the manga again. And if he returned it would undermine his death amd the feelings that were felt when reading.
Despite my initial anger of seeing Gojo died, his death stirred a reaction in me I hadn't felt since the days I read Jiraiyas death. And despite his death I am now even MORE invested in Jujutsu Kaisen. And more so, I now want Sukuna to be taken off his high horse, I want to see this man be demolished. Fr I was shocked just as everyone else when 236 happened but within a week a recognized and gave Gege credit for giving Gojo the fight of his life and dying happy peaceful surrounded by his loved ones at the happiest time ,the time he felt the most human of his life. Although some of the words exchanged during that left Gojo lacking like zero mention of Megumi or his students, everything else was done so well by Gege.

I feel like if Gojo came back, it'd either be at the end or for some limited amount of time, to do one or two things at most. Either in some sort of similar manner to Toji to maybe kill one person or save someone, as a force ghost or to give some answers, or even completely, but after Kenjaku has been killed.
Maybe he'll be set it up to be brought back after either Sukuna or Kenjaku has been killed, particularly to lay rest to his best friends body and complete his long-term goals.

I think it really is a coin flip, there is a bunch of reason for both opinions. I personally would like him to come back but I realize no matter what people will be upset regardless of if he comes back or not
NEEDS to come back probably not but would be better if he did come back. Sure gojo can pass the torch on to the students but quite honestly... The students just aren't as interesting as gojo, even gege thinks so as he switched out the protagonist of the manga before it came out and even then yuji quite frankly is kind of a boring character on his own, what made him interesting was sukuna. Gojos just that much of a better character. And it would make narrative sense for gojo to not follow the rules of all the other sorcerers becuase that's basically ALL weve been seeing him doing throughout the series as his time as the strongest. So really the rules truly dont apply to him.
The reason I have in mind on why JJK Fans wants Gojo to come back is that he didn't have a proper closure, he was offscreened. They want him to come back so he can prove a few things to people.
1. That you only need your head to use RCT and
2. That he will fulfill his promises unlike the other sorcerers that passed on

But right after the next chapter, the very first page was him cut in half which took many people by surprise. There was no sign that Sukuna would use a space-cutting slash before the death, there was no panels that he even made a binding vow or anything to use the space-cutting slash, just insta-death.
Gojo coming back powerless would be cool, I would be ok with any outcome as long as he doesn't just appear and starts throwing hands again.
I think that Gojo returning would not achieve much, for one he would have to sacrifice something to return, since he cannot awaken twice, so no instant full refill of CE, also infinity can now be easily bypassed by Sukuna, so weakened or possibly having lost six eyes Gojo would not be a threat, but narratively speaking he is a mentor figure who passed down his torch, like Obi-wan to Luke, so now he is no longer needed in the story, and to those that say "oh his death was unfair" or "he has many things to achieve still", that can be said about many characters that we assume are dead: Nobara, Yuki, Nanami, Disaster Curses, Megumi, they all (in my opinion) are dead and yet had so much left to do, Jujutsu Kaisen is very real with it portrayal of death: it feels too fast, sudden and unfair

Well said. It reminds me of Erwin in aot, but that showed it more explicitly. He lived to know the truth of the world, to see beyond the walls he was confined to. But death came for him before he could. People would probably have gotten more upset at his demise if aot didn’t explicitly focus on him letting go of his own personal goals and entrusting the future to his comrades, but the same thing can be said to happen with gojo.

Think about it, 500 or so years ago, a 10S User and a Six eyes Infinity wielder went head to head and came to a stalemate, that reason is because the 10S User pulled out Moharaga, a Moharaga that was untamed and, funnily enough, probably killed the 10S user before the 6 Eyes user could 💀.
In the Modern age, not only does Gojo (a 6 Eyes limitless user) go up against Moharaga, but a TAMED Moharaga with the master leading him being the greatest tactician and Jujustu sorcerer in all of history, one who had 2 other techniques to boot (ofcourse he never used his 2nd, secret one, but still).
The fact that Gojo beat a tamed, Sukuna CE enhanced Moharaga WHILE having the drawbacks of constantly having to use unlimited void before hand proves and goes to show that he WAS the strongest because he was Satoru Gojo.

Gege's comment of him feeling like "the chapter was missing a chapter or few pages" sums it all. It just means even the author himself feels that there was something missing with the way he killed Gojo. It's almost like Gege was just in a hurry to match his death with him getting sealed in the anime.

I do think Gojo dying or losing against Sukuna is the best for the story, but the way it happened, it being off screen, leaving his head and heart intact with his ability for RCT filled was a little ridiculous. I always thought he should lose to Sukuna but his actual final fight should be again Kenny so he could successfully bury his best friend.

I think the point about Gojo coming back weak would be especially interesting because it harkens back to Geto's question "Are you Gojo Satoru because you are the strongest, or are you the Strongest because you are Gojo Satoru?" Finding himself after living his entire life as the apex would be quick interesting.
He died as gojo satoru not "the strongest", his character arc is over. The focus will now be on the strong allies he cultivated.

While I personally would love for Gojo to come back, his farewell chapter pretty much confirmed he's dead. If he didn't have such a love affair for Sukuna then him coming back for a round 2 makes sense. The way Gojo's death traumatized the whole community into making dozens of theories of how he's coming back is why it's so good. The hero don't always wins, the most popular characters might no make it. That's why Nanami's death hurt so much for example, this makes the story get written like life, anything can happen to anyone at any point, not some cliche good-guys-win bullshit, hell, I'm not even sure they WILL win.

by that logic yuji should be dead before he even fully lands in front of sukuna. don't give gaygay too much credit. gojo is a side character mentor who was fighting a main villain who hadn't had his conflict with the protagonist resolved yet. the plot armor was incredibly strong with sukuna. so all he did was follow a typical shounen trope and execute it even more poorly than it's usually performed. yuji should have absolutely no chance in hell to beat sukuna but i'm willing to bet my left nut that's exactly what he'll do because the story needs to go a certain way. if the story is truly following how real life would go then realistically, sukuna and kenjaku should win and end the story. which is what i actually hope happens at this point so the story can at least make some semblance of logical sense in it's conclusion.

There is enough mystery about Yuji to justify a power up to get close to Sukuna. Kenny has said Sukuna and Yuji will be the balance to world for a reason. Kenny maybe uses Yuji as vessel for merger and Yuji can harness it. Having to awaken after basically dying in the process. I can see most dying and maybe Yuji can collect there souls and CE/CT.

I have no issue with how gojo died, but the conversation he had in the afterlife was stupid. Completely and utterly ridiculous, it didn't make sense at all in how the fight between Gojo and Sukuna was written, and the amount of difficulty Sukuna underwent. It made no sense that Gojo thought he had a way to beat him aside from the Blueprint he acquired from Mahoraga (From Gojo's perspective Mahoraga). Sukuna even states he NEEDED Mahoraga to beat Gojo.

This video simultaneously illustrates why I generally dislike the way discussions about Gojo's return go while pointing out, but not fully exploring, why there is another more sensible alternative to how that could happen.
First of all, I agree that having him return as the powerhouse he was would be bad for the history, that is the point where I agree with you and the one most people seem to make. It is also (the way I see it) the wrong way to tackle his return and makes the entire discussion fruitless in a sense.
Gojo returning without his powers (maybe a binding vow that takes away his technique or even cursed energy as a whole?) is where I think we should focus. Here I have to disagree with you, not because of your conclusions (most of them anyways) but because of the angle you tackled it from. His return shouldn't be a way to accomplish the things he set out to but couldn't as the honored one (not that he can't for some of them, like the talk with Megumi, but it shouldn't be the point or reason for his return) but a new step for Gojo Satoru.
Like you said, Gojo has been defined so far by his strength. It was his strength that ended up birthing most of his characteristics and experiences (some because he is strong, others because the fact he is strong threw him into that situation like with the whole Amanai and Toji thing) with him having to basically carry the world on his back or take responsibility for what goes wrong on it. Because of that, the logical conclusion to his character arc isn't really just his legacy as the strongest, that is the honored one's arc, but also seeing past it and finally being able to live outside of that. Live as one of the weak. Live as a human. Live as Satoru Gojo. The ultimate conclusion to him is not dying at the hands of Sukuna (again, that is the conclusion to the strongest sorcerer) but living as someone whose strength ISN'T his defining characteristic, that can finally stop being so isolated and lonely even when surrounded by others.
Yes, I know you kinda touched on this point, but I think there was a mistake there. You don't need a full character arc to make that happen. It is already there. The arc isn't seeing all the steps of him going this new path (unless Gege wants to go the Solo Leveling route and make a bunch of extra chapters showing in more detail what happens after the history and manga ends as a farewell to the series, which I find somewhat unlikely, but would not complain about). It is seeing him getting to start it, to take the first step. The man who has always been defined by his strength, trapped by it even, finally gets to live life not bound by it, to not be the honored one, but simply Satoru Gojo. Considering the building to that as pretty much already been done through Gojo's entire arc and that conversation after his death ("Go North to become someone new"), I think what is left could be done in like 2 chapters, with one being his return, still during the battle (even though I don't think he should fight anymore) and another ("slightly longer" as in "about 20 pages" in contrast to a lot of the recent ones that seem to have less than that) after the fight is over. Keep in mind, I am also not saying the entire first chapter should be about Gojo, just some of it.
The way i can see Gojo coming back is him sacrificing his six eyes to increase his RCT as a binding vow. It would play into his character really well with him relinquishing the title of the strongest and having faith in his allies
Yea this is the scenario that I heavily agree with over him returning at full power. He would truly become a side character assisting the main guys who would have more potential in taking down Sukuna than he does and GEGE WOULDN’T HAVE ANY REASON TO HATE HIM ANYMORE since he can’t spam his OP abilities anymore and very likely all of his OP techniques will have immense cooldowns to recharge his cursed energy the normal way. This would also shift his focus over to perhaps Kenjaku since he is in no state to fight Sukuna especially at his current power. Gojo transcends and becomes Tengen. Gojos Cousin inherits SIx Eyes (but not limitless) and takes his place as the strongest after defeating Sukuna. Yuji uses soul swap to save Megumi.
While I don't think Gojo is entirely finished, I also don't think he can come back as a full character. In my mind, Gojo has one scene left in him, one scene where he can grow past his greatest weakness - his inability to work well with others. I think Gojo's disembodied torso can revive long enough to distract or neutralize Sukuna and give his students a key opening, but ultimately still be killed by Sukuna, (or kill himself in a Yuki Tsukumo, since he can't very well survive without a stomach). I think he's going to work with his students, give them his final words, and ascend, allowing him to fully live out his buddhavista symbolism by spreading wisdom to his pupils before ascending to nirvana.
In essence, while I don't think he's going to be a full character, I still think he has one more scene in him.
Honestly, gege’s biggest mistake was just killing gojo and keeping sukuna alive I mean don’t get my wrong both sukuna and gojo can easily solo the entire verse but after that unlimited hollow purple both gojo and sukuna should’ve died that way the main cast actually have a chance of saving Megumi and defeating kenjaku.

Sukuna needs to be defeated, incapacitated and spared. It's not an act of kindness, it's just because he's an insignificant fish. He needs to beg for death and feel true fear, like Mahito.

I couldn’t agree more. Think about how much Gojo’s death shocked and surprised all of us in real life. Gojo impacted some readers in real life. Now imagine you are his actual student witnessing him lose. This is the greatest catalyst for Yuji (with Megumi still being taken by Sukuna and carrying the weight of so many lost ally’s on his shoulders), Yuta (the likely second strongest in verse on our side, who wanted to help Gojo during the fight), and Hikari (who acknowledged Gojo but no other major sorcerers). We have a lot to look forward to in terms of hype and growth for those three. Especially Yuji imo.

The problem with Gojo's death for me is basically how it was executed.
In one second, we have Gojo almost being declared the victor by Kusakabe. Then in the next, he's dead?
We can't even say that it's similar to other deaths like Nanami's or Nobara's. For Nanami's death, we could see that his situation was beyond salvation the moment he appeared after being burned by Jogo.
With Nobara, although more similar, we still have some warnings and reactions about it from Mahito's plan to Yuji's reaction.
Actually, the fact that we even react to their deaths like that makes them more impactful in-universe than Gojo's was, where we immediately move on from it like it was some random dude that just died.
There's also how he seemingly looked satisfied at the end. How could he be satisfied? I get that he's glad he doesn't need to hold the burden as the sole strongest and the solution to all problems anymore, but now there's a seemingly invincible calamity that's about to fight his students and he doesn't even show to even be a little bit worried? He mentions something about telling Megumi about Toji and then doesn't mention them ever again. It just feels like he cared more about reaching Sukuna than actually making sure that the people he cares about don't die horrible deaths.
That isn't mentioning how meaningless most of Gojo's efforts felt because Sukuna was supposedly holding back. Like, what was the point in all the effort the students had in freeing him, all of Gojo's efforts, if Sukuna just resets his health bar through Reincarnation, but also seems to be stronger than before? I genuinely hope that they actually have something that catches Sukuna off-guard, or that Gojo's actually did something noteworthy to Sukuna in the longrun other than give him Dimensional Cleave. Or esle, all the pain and effort the cast went through to unseal Gojo would be for nothing.
Speaking of the students, this is something that personally bothers me. Like, genuinely, how are theu supposed to win agaisnt a Sukuna that is seemingly stronger than the one that fought Gojo?
Yuta and Hakari? They're weaker than chapter 234 Gojo who was low on Reverse Cursed Technique Output and could be considered hindrances.
Maki? We saw a nerfed 15F Sukuna matching her in hand-to-hand combat when she was being assisted by Yuji. What difference would she make here other than a single surprise attack? Especially when Sukuna knows of her existence.
Yuji? He wasn't even mentioned to be a possible threat by *anyone.* Not by Kenjaku, not by the other students, not even by Gojo. And certainly he isn't considered a threat by Sukuna himself.
Like, we all talk about Yuji having resistance to Sukuna's Cursed Techniques, which isn't impossible, but do you guys really believe that Yuji would manage to deal as much or even more damage than Gojo did against Sukuna in a way that makes sense? Do you guys have any ways to believe that the students have a hair of a chance other than saying "Let Gege cook"?
Personally, I don't see it going any way other than Sukuna losing because his IQ suddenly dropped to two braincells after beating Gojo. Like, logically speaking, he should slice Higuruma the moment he saw him because he knows how his Domain Expansion works.
This is probably just me being upset at Gege's recent choices and unknowingly ignoring other factors. This could very well just me being angry at how Gojo essentially became a joke since he barely achieved anything noteworthy throughout the series (other than saving Yuji, Yuta and Megumi). But this whole thing just leaves a bad taste in my mouth and a disappointment to the point I'm genuinely thinking of dropping JJK. This is something that never happened before. Ever.

Who loved it, exactly? His death was terrible writing. It's so bad that I'm in denial he's actually dead and will believe he's coming back until the last chapter. And I don't even like him that much.
His off-screen death after 'winning' and Sukuna's reincarnation immediately after invalidates the entire fight and Gojo's character/arc in the manga. What was even Gojo's arc if he dies here? That he trusted in talented students like Yuji, Yuta and Hakari? Meh. He hit Sukuna with two purples, he destroyed Mahoraga, his CE was replenished after a Black Flash. He had that fight in the bag only for Gege, who's been writing mid since Shibuya ended, to say ''lolno''.
This manga will go from a 9 to a 5 in my eyes if this was Gojo's ending. There are so many cool theories around, that Nobara is alive and has the last finger Gojo had and will use it to hit Sukuna's soul, that Gojo's gonna be brought back by Yuta and instead of fighting Sukuna alone this time will rely on others ( which is something Gojo has never done, hence development ). If he's just dead, what a waste of a massively popular and cool character.

I don’t think even Gege would leave Gojo dead without fleshing him out more considering there is still so much we don’t know about him. At the very least we get flashbacks like we’re getting with Takaba vs Kenjaku. Gojo should comeback but not as the main focus, but more as an assist character.
Gojo was never the main focus he's always been a side character for all intensive purposes, gojo coming back would ruin all his character building at this point if he came back so easily why would there be any stakes in the story or having gojos development revolve around his students like yuta, megumi, yuji and the rest of jujutsu high , if he came back and solved everyone's problems then he never had trust in his students to carry on his legacy in the first place

Eh, I think it’s pretty obvious that Gojo is going to come back. With all of the Bhudda symbolism and him taking the other road in his death scene. I think you are kinda dropping the ball on the explanation because it seems like your theory revolves around Gojo coming back right now for this fight. Where was the rule that stated that had to happen? My thought is that he is going to reincarnate as a baby in the future (and potentially this was the case of all six eyes/limitless users).

I feel like if Gojo comes back it'll be without his six eyes so he'll be heavily nerfed down. Thus he'll finally be able to understand human connection
The problem is how he died. Lets compare Jiraiya senseis death. It made sense. It was fair. We saw it coming. And it was built up. Jiraiya wasnt dogging pain the entire fight then the next chapter opened with him suddenly being dead.
Its so insulting to the readers to kill him like that. Off screen. After making him win the whole fight, seemingly easily at that. Then just a middle finger "lol sike". So insulting and felt like the ONLY reason he killed him that specific way, was to spite the fans.
what if gojo came back but a curse, at first his priority is to kill, Sukuna after killing sukuna.
Gojo lost his humanity.
Now Curse Gojo is the final enemy boss, now his friends and students need to stop gojo.
now yuji have to surpass OP sukuna just to have a chance to win over curse gojo.
Not saying I want gojo to come back, but a way he could become far less powerful would be to have the six eyes reincarnate so he wouldn't have access to it after resurrection, maybe.

I personally think he’ll come back but it will be under very specific circumstances. Since the end of his story mirrored that of Toji. wearing similar clothes, leaving behind his students (Toji leaving Megumi), first defeating sukuna to losing to him, as well as gojo fighting megumi’s body to put a cherry on top. Because of this, I think there is a possibility that he will be temporarily revived similar to the way that toji was brought back during shibuya and he may even help his student or even test their strength, similar to what toji did. I think it would be poetic for gojo to temporarily come back so he can see that he was able to fulfill his goal of creating a stronger society of jujutsu sorcerers, allowing him to truly die without regrets, similar to toji once again

If Gojo came back it would also ruin the narrative implication of what he was trying to teach Megumi about “winning by dying and winning even if you die are 2 different things”

@@narutolol3199 I should clarify that this is just my opinion and could totally be wrong but this quote reinforces the role that Gojo is a teacher. Therefore the narrative implication (to me) is that this fight with Sukuna is the culmination of all of his teachings to his students. Him dying to Sukuna doesn't mean that he "lost" if you look at it in that way. His students carrying on his will and defeating Sukuna is his victory. Hence the "winning even if you die". Kinda like the other saying "Lost the battle, but won the war" or however it goes.
It just feels cheap for this to be the end. Gojo spent like 90 chapters out of the story and was the goal everyone strives for and they developed and excelled but he comes back, does nothing and then gets offscreened.
This video is a great justification but Gojos story is kind of a failure.
The only satisfying way for the narrative to resolve this is if Gojo comes back different. Tengen after all their fuck ups deserves to be replaced as an example
I believe Gojo coming back would be perfectly in line with his character. Remember, Gojo is an extremely prideful fighter that refuses to give up, Ive seen people try and argue thematics and why it would ruin his character if he returned but it wouldnt ruin anything in the slightest, everything about Gojo returning lines up with his character, from his excessive pride of wanting to win, wanting to protect his students at all costs, his divine nature as the Enlightened One and even down to his very primal nature as a human being, there is nothing more perfect than him returning and it even makes sense for the story as the last few chapters were Sukunas rise and now having Gojo back and most likely amped up with new abilities it would now put Sukuna in a vulnerable position as a villain as the heroes are now getting the upper hand, I mean the same thing happened in Bleach during the Aizen arc and JJK is heavily inspired by Bleach.
