GECKO if you use a fire type move on an ice type like vanillish, it doesn't faint. It just melts. You melt it to death. It's the equivalent of throwing lava over a person. And then Pokemon centres have the ability to just unmelt it. Same with rock moves and ice Pokemon. You just smash it to pieces like glass. And then the pokecenter puts it back together. Electric moves literally just electrocute the enemy. If you use spark on a lillipup, you are just electrocuting a puppy. The safari zone is animal abuse if you use rocks. Gyms are cock fighting rings. Milk Drink is literally just slurping milk straight from the udders. Somebody is bound to have attempted bestiality in the Pokemon universe. Trubbish and Garbodor are just results of pollution. Some Pokemon just straight up murder people, some kidnap kids. Carnivine is 5 feet tall and can eat humans alive and whole. Machops are virtually slaves in Oreburgh City. Using fish Pokemon would kill them as they would suffocate. It really is a terrifying universe when you delve deep.

Hmmm ... new suggestion. Maybe you could try a run using only the first stage birds (Pidgey, Hoothoot, Taillow, Starley, Pidove, Fletchling, Pikipek, and/or Rookidee) for the game of your choice.

Phanpy is my favorite Pokémon, because it reminds me of my favorite stuffed animal, named after my grandmother. I always catch a female Phanpy and name it Judy, then take it down to the end of the game. Phanpy is my favorite Pokémon to say the least.

17:03 a little surprised you didn't mention that Ice Ball is an Ice-type version of Rollout, considering how much Rollout is essential to your strategy and Glacia was basically doing the same thing in that moment
I'd love to see a Ditto run, or a Smeargle run. They both have absurd gimmicks that could range from excellent to atrocious from moment to moment.
Smeargle would be a very fun one as there are so many options. You could run it a dozen times and be different.
Digletts good speed stat might make it too strong by just a little.

I really don't understand why people suggest that he should do those. This whole trend of challenge runs really hit stride with Pikasprey doing a Ditto run after he did his Smeargle run. MahDryBread is already ripping a formula off of Pikasprey and pumping out a generic video every week, so I don't think he should do Ditto or Smeargle. It would come off extremely insincere and, honestly, stolen.

Nature's are values that can boost any stat at the cost of another except for hp so modest nature would allow phanphy to get more special attack while leveling up but it's attack would level slower

Glameow is actually Pearl exclusive.
Ramoxfire Leader of Gauntlet Squadron I have done the research, called playing Pokemon Platinum.
And Googling it to double-check, and no, Glameow is only available through trade in Platinum.
And just to prove it, Glameow appears in the wild on routes 218 and 222 in Pearl only.

Which makes totally sense that a super mega heavy Rock Snake cant hit harder than a bunch of gras without arms
At least it's fast and has good defense, right? And gets frickn' STAB early on (I think?) in Rock Throw, and gets STAB from Rock Tomb, and gets Earthquake, too.
@@krystallinekris it learns Rock Throw for level up which is Base Power 50 with 65% accuracy in Gen 1 :D
But you get Dig early on and Rock Slide at the 4th Gym so thats at least pretty good. Too bad he has a 4th Water/Grass Weakness and probably gets fucked hard at lorelei.

@@CojonesMuchoGrande Ah, I guess I didn't see it was gen 1 because I stopped before that lol. For some reason I was thinking gen 3 since this video was Gen 3 lol. But even here, Wallace would likely be a dead end because of the 4x water weakness, but being able to one shot with EQ and being faster might make it doable.
Onix also gets some interesting TM's if I'm not mistaken in Gen 1, and moves like Slam, Fissure, and Double Edge might make the difference in this run.

This was great! I love Phanpy. It's one of my favorite Pokemon. I would have loved to see a little more footage of you running around. Like, especially in the first half you kind of just jumped from battle to battle with no overworld footage. So I was a little confused about where in the game you were, and it was a little harder to visualize.
When he got stuck at Drake, why didn't he just temporarily give Phanpy the quick claw?

Phanpy, me and Dig have kind of a history together. I remember my first pre-planned Team Crystal Run... I beelined to the National Park after the forest, sure TM Dig would help me out against a certain someone who likes the Rollout strategy...

Rewatching this and I suddenly remembered my own first 3rd gen shiny; a lvl 3 Poochyena. I had no clue how shinys worked, and I thought that meant it had some super boosted stats, and took him all the way to the Elite 4.
Those were some good times.
Drinking game: Always take a shot when MDB says „Defense curl“ and „Roll out“.

I think you missed an opportunity to have a “1-5 Rollout Counter” on screen to enhance the viewer experience. With how formulaic, and cookie-cutter these are getting, I think there are small but significant ways you can improve the production of the videos. I hope you find ways to make them more interesting
I would suggest doing what pikasprey did and show the team he’s going against on the screen, just to give something else to look at. I think it would be a small change that would be visually appealing, but maybe that’s just my opinion.

I'd love to see a challenge where you beat gen 2 using only a team made up of one of the Pokeathlon teams! Each team usually consists of 3 first stage pokemon! Theres a decent amount of teams to pick from and I think it would be a super interesting challenge! Great video as always! Excited for the next challenge!

I just discovered your channel a few weeks ago and it’s amazing. Then I researched some other youtuber who have done the same and I found a French one who have done 2 amazing challenges, but I will only explain the first one cause the second is a run with no healing (a version even more hardcore you did on emerald).
The first one is on the first gen Pokémon (red), with rules as :
· No Catching Pokémon (the idea is to rely on Pokémon offered in the game)
· No fight with wild Pokémon (you can only fight with trainers)
· No casino (too easy to have some good Pokémon)
I wonder if you can do it with the second gen (crystal), it would be something new for you, I guess.
Since I havent seen anyone else mention it, Meditite doesnt have an obsession with Focus Punch, its literally its ONLY attacking move, in my runs I always use it as cheap exp, especially since it'll eat a potion for Makuhita

I’m not super into shinies either but mostly because way too many look bad and ugly. They’re cool I guess, but USUM has dampened their appeal by a lot /:
The only shiny I ever get are the ones you have to stand on your head to see the slightly darker shading/coloration

Phanpy will always mean a lot to me because Donphan was my first captured Pokémon (I know it might sound weird, but my first Pokémon was probably a randomized/hacked rom because I found it before the very first gym)!

i always get bored playing pokemon, maybe because i played so many turn-based rpg with unique mechanics, but for some reason watching you play this challenges never gets boring to me, i even re-watch some of your old video, the magikarp run being my favorite.

Trapinch is pretty easy to sweep with. High Attack stat and access to Swords Dance and Earthquake make him a beast.

Started watching these videos whilst working in isolation. Completed them. Love the content and watching how the challenges unfold.
One that has probably been recommended (that I am doing in pkmn Blue currently), is completing the game using no attacking moves. Essentially, Poison, Leech Seed, and confusion to win. I don’t think it’ll work Gen 5 or further because of TM’s being reusable (too easy), but if entry hazards are wanted I imagine gen 4 could be fun. Maybe an unnecessarily long grind, but considering.
