I don't think John is holding your hand too much. He's streamlining the lp so you don't stumble around like I would. Its how I used to play with my dad when I was like 9. It's also nice for you to have someone to have a conversation with and we get to hear you think out loud, which I personally like. You're getting pretty good at the game at this point and have even impressed me in certain areas. A good way to judge where you are in a jump is to look at your shadow to see where you'll land. I'm very happy with Jon for not letting her step on the pad leading to Tooty before doing the last stage. That's the kind of thing where I really wouldn't want to just let someone stumble around.

Remember when I said I like hard platforming levels? Click Clock Wood is one of my favorite levels in any video game. The changing seasons, the platforming, THE MUSIC, and the characters are all fantastic in this level. You're doing great Lucah - falling in this level is part of learning this level. :)
I know most people wanna see Lucah do it on her own, but if she seriously needs help, I think John should be able to without so much criticism, y'know? She is going blind, after all. I watch these videos every night after work, and I just wanted to say you guys did a really good job with this one. Lucah, don't give up! You did an amazing job at all the platforming, especially considering how little you've gotten to play. You can tell the spots where the developers meant for you to screw up regularly by how small the fall is, as you saw with Jon when he took over. Some people might make fun, but most of the fun of this for me is watching somebody figure it out. I'd rather a cliffhanger at a dumb spot than progression without you playing. Jon, thank you for the light touch. I think you did a perfect job of guiding her from getting off track without spoiling. Thank you guys for these videos.
If you mess up the code in the sand castle, it doesn't matter. It's actually possible to put in all three Cheato codes at the same time if you put in BLUEEGG, REDFEATHER, and GOLDFEATHER, then put in the S that all three require. Heck, I think putting in RBGOLUEDFEATHERGGS would work. (I mean, that won't work now that you've already done all three, but something to try if you play this again.)
I always found it odd that the first time you defeat a hole bird from power on the camera gets cinematic. Technically you can get the boulder in spring via a glitch, unless it was fixed in the Xbox version.

Im watchin all these episodes, and there's a perfect pattern of when you succeed and when you fail, and the times you fail are right after you say you're bad. Like, every single time without fail. You don't have a skill problem, you just have a confidence problem. When you stop putting yourself down and just go, you do crazy good!
It looks to me that Lucah is getting a lot more comfortable with the swimming in game. Maybe she will end up playing Mario 64 in the future? Who knows?
I mean, my first experience with this game was playing with my dad. He'd play and I'd point out notes or read the walkthrough or help sometimes. And then id play and he would help, especially with water parts because im hydrophobic. So I have no problems with Jon helping a lot more than he is. It's nostalgic for me.

This is the episode where she falls a lot. I'm pretty sure most others would too though, since the controls and collision are a bit finnicky. This is where the game starts showing its age.

the biggest issue i have with Lucahjins LPs is that, because its blind, she has to record an episode or two, then wait a week til she uploads it, gets tips, hints, and spoilers from the comments, and then she can record the next episode or two. she cant gain any muscle memory, or even any game memory, because she has to wait so long just to play the game again. thats why cartoons always had the "last time, on Dragon Ball Z!" opening segment. nobody is gonna remember exactly what went down a week ago. this isnt meant to be like "oh she sucks and blahblahblah." this is how she built her personality, her channel, her community. thats fine. she did this. she makes it work, and shes got a much better day job than i ever will. good for her. but if she tried bulk recording 10-15 videos all at once, or livestreamed the whole game, she wouldve had far less screwups, and would appear a much better player by this point of the game.

Uma Musume is my secret hit of this anime season. Its soo cute and fun and as a former athlete I completely empathize with the competition aspect of it. My favorite horse girls are Silence Suzuka and El Condor Pasa. Also Trainer-san is a catch, which is always nice.

People thought throughout all these years that the washing machine was the only secret transformation in Banjo-Kazooie, but they were wrong. I don't think John is holding your hand too much. He's streamlining the lp so you don't stumble around like I would. Its how I used to play with my dad when I was like 9. It's also nice for you to have someone to have a conversation with and we get to hear you think out loud, which I personally like. You're getting pretty good at the game at this point and have even impressed me in certain areas.

Remember when I said I like hard platforming levels? Click Clock Wood is one of my favorite levels in any video game. The changing seasons, the platforming, THE MUSIC, and the characters are all fantastic in this level. You're doing great Lucah - falling in this level is part of learning this level. :)
I know most people wanna see Lucah do it on her own, but if she seriously needs help, I think John should be able to without so much criticism, y'know? She is going blind, after all. There's no shame in asking for help when you don't know what to do next.

I watch these videos every night after work, and I just wanted to say you guys did a really good job with this one. Lucah, don't give up! You did an amazing job at all the platforming, especially considering how little you've gotten to play. You can tell the spots where the developers meant for you to screw up regularly by how small the fall is, as you saw with Jon when he took over. Some people might make fun, but most of the fun of this for me is watching somebody figure it out. I'd rather a cliffhanger at a dumb spot than progression without you playing. Jon, thank you for the light touch. I think you did a perfect job of guiding her from getting off track without spoiling. Thank you guys for these videos.

If you mess up the code in the sand castle, it doesn't matter. It's actually possible to put in all three Cheato codes at the same time if you put in BLUEEGG, REDFEATHER, and GOLDFEATHER, then put in the S that all three require. Heck, I think putting in RBGOLUEDFEATHERGGS would work. (I mean, that won't work now that you've already done all three, but something to try if you play this again.)

the biggest issue i have with Lucahjins LPs is that, because its blind, she has to record an episode or two, then wait a week til she uploads it, gets tips, hints, and spoilers from the comments, and then she can record the next episode or two. she cant gain any muscle memory, or even any game memory, because she has to wait so long just to play the game again. thats why cartoons always had the "last time, on Dragon Ball Z!" opening segment. nobody is gonna remember exactly what went down a week ago.
this isnt meant to be like "oh she sucks and blahblahblah." this is how she built her personality, her channel, her community. thats fine. she did this. she makes it work, and shes got a much better day job than i ever will. good for her. but if she tried bulk recording 10-15 videos all at once, or livestreamed the whole game, she wouldve had far less screwups, and would appear a much better player by this point of the game.
yes I have been watching uma musume since it started just watched the last episode when it came oout few days ago its really good anime but maybe not for people hat hate cute things though

Uma Musume is my secret hit of this anime season. Its soo cute and fun and as a former athlete I completely empathize with the competition aspect of it. My favorite horse girls are Silence Suzuka and El Condor Pasa. Also Trainer-san is a catch, which is always nice.
