Goku literally chose not to return from Heaven. He asked not to be resurrected. Goku would rather train there than be with his family. He only came back because of the Tournament. And at the end of DBZ, he left to train Uub, even though he has 2 sons himself. Yeah, Goku isn't the worst father in anime, but he's definitely a deadbeat father to his 2 sons
