Wow, I actually liked the one on BM but with this one is just as good. That late 60s, early 70s funk energy that he was tapping into is definitely more evident.
A crispier mix down, clearer vocals, same percussion/bass and this would have been a classic. The version on BM is overdone with annoying fx and wrong drums.
@@asayudwhaddameant8346 Calm down buddy. When did I say that they were both mutually exclusive? Some things are so funky, the lyrics Don't Matter, the groove is the focal point of the song. James Brown made many concerts, which was unintelligible, lyrically. But it did not matter, the songs were still groovy.
What a brilliant man.
Another classic, funky, churchy, hip hop, rock, all In one song!! Amazing 🔥🔥🔥🔥

best version to me
I like this version more
The only version for me since it snuck out early. Impressed in my mind for the solo alone. More ❤🔥
This is so cool. I still get chills every time I listen. Stay weird, D.
Dopeness
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
I prefer this version over the Black Messiah one.
Exactly
The drums on the album version are too much

I'm starting to think this is just Michael, he gave himself an anonym yo 😂 cause where do you even find such! 😯
per questlove, he's nearly oblivious to all this internet shit
the bassist should have been mike watt... he would have elevated this

As usual, I can't understand a single thing he is saying. Hard to create classics if your audience can't actually sing the songs you record.
why did you click on this video if youre not a fan? just tryna hate lol
@@jonathanbufalino5170 Because I love D'Angelo. Why are you in my business?
It ain't about the lyrics oh, it's about the feeling, in the soul. Either you have soul, or you don't.
@@C-Lyfe85 Bullshit! You can have soul and create decipherable content. The two are not mutually exclusive.
