Uzi is one of the best players ever with Faker without having won a worlds title and only one domestic title and one MSI. That shows how good he is as a player. That people rate him so high eventhough he does not have all the titles.

Goddamm, I genuinely cant believe you weren't high when you wrote this. If he was just not dying and killing this argument would maybe make sense, but he was also the highest damage dealer on the team by far (559 dpm vs 467 from Faker)
If it was so easy to simply be a bot laner with strong solo laners(which Khan isnt) we wouldnt see DWG's or Grf's bot lane be picked off and punished so much. But not only Teddy and effort arent usually picked off, they usually win(as you can see from their G@15).
I'm NOT saying an LCS player should be on the list, BUT IF a player from NA were in discussion for this list, it should be neither Bjergsen nor Doublelift, but CoreJJ.
@Stanislav Hronek Yep, that's what they said 25 minutes or something into the video. Was triggered by the first mention of LCS and only DL & Bjerg being mentioned and wrote this right away.
This goes out to Riot: Please put those 2 analysts together more. They both have a similar analytic view onto the game which makes it so interesting to listen to them, because they dont have constant misunderstandings but can really focus on the analyzation of the game.
Thank you Jatt for letting someone else talk without constantly interrupting the conversation like "this or that". Great video to watch calmly and see the process behind it.
I think he is either going to show up to be really amazing or really disappointing. Hoping it's going to be the former but his ranked history on EU server isn't too great at the moment.
@@AsianBinLaden Well, he isnt known as a godly, individual player. Doinb's more of a team player. He isn't the best at laning or solo killing, but his teamplay is probably the best in LPL. When you're playing solo queue, a teamplayer will naturally look worse.
No COREJJ? The lists are just wrong. Is it just because he's now in Team Liquid? Were he still playing in the LCK, would he be on the list? He has his own Rakan skin...
The problem i have with these lists is that they are not necessarily ranking based on how good a player is at their role (my personal evaluation of skill) and are instead ranking by the impact they percieve a player will have during the game. To illustrate this i want to point out that CoreJJ has near perfect support play as well as evidence of intangibles. It is practically impossible to play support better than he has yet he isn't considered a top 20 player? We see other players on this list like TheShy have constant ups and down but be ranked top 10. At the end of the day its clear this isn't a list only looking at skill but rather impact which is kind of messed up given that it basically implies that even if someone had a perfect champ pool and 100% perfect mechanics they wouldn't make the list if the meta made their role less impactful. Vedius having 2 supports over CoreJJ is frankly ridiculous as well imo.
I invalidated vedius list when i saw perkz number 2. I know he has played really well but cmon he isnt the second best player at this tournament lets be honest here. No problem with him being ranked in the 5-10 range though but 2 is too high.
@@TheWolffriendly This is a list of individual players not their teams. G2 as a team was one of the best teams in the world 100%. That doesnt mean perkz individually is as good as some other players who may or may not be on worse teams.
Im glad Vedius brought up the point about Caps against international competition. I feel like a lot of people forgot about last year against Scout and Rookie and overrated him a bit because of it. Glad to see someone on the broadcast finally expand on it a bit more
Well, like in semis he destroied c9 alone, or in groupstage where he was near To perfection .. can happen sometimes that they feel pressione, are human bring after all .. I think that this year Will be different from him .. more experience, more freedom , an International title an mvp in the bag .. Will be definitely CLAPS, Mark my words
Yeah, during the whole summer casters were saying you get Claps or Craps, but I think they were joking and Vedius really step in and say "caps is not that consistent", I have seen the others casters speak about Caps and they just said he is really good but none of them point what really Caps is, he either wins the game for you or lose it for you
While im not sure if i would put him top 20, i feel impact is so under rated, he doesent make crazy play, but hes been king of consistency and absorbing pressure for years and i think this bring so much value to team that want to play true mid or bot. You can litteraly ignore is lane for a full season and hes not gonna feed and cost you the game. Most under rated world champion.
I know SKT has been a big name in the pro scene for many seasons now. But for some reason, it feels like people aren't really talking about them this worlds, even though SKT is one of the top3 favorites. :( Rarely talked about the SKT players here and didn't really talk about them in The Dive either
I think they are keeping quiet about it because of the disappointing MSI result. I've been a fan since 2015 (when I started playing) and this year the whole esports media are walking on eggshells when mentioning them :(( MSI may not be their redemption arc but I hope and believe that this Worlds is
I think it’s insane that finally some1 mentions how caps really looked against high Tier players. Rookie completely smashed him, Same is for wunder and the shy! G2 solo Laners really have to proof that they deserve to be 1 of the top 5 players in their roles, because they absolutely did not.
I think the problem is that people see them play against their peers throughout the entire year. And amongst their peers they are the best but then reality settles in when worlds comes along caps gets dumped on. Jankos looks like an average jg, wunder might as well sit under his tower and just farm, nobody will think perkz is the second or best player at this tournament when its over. Its just a lot of hype. Can they win the whole thing yes they have a shot. Because they play well together. And cover up eachothers mistakes. Are they good individually sometimes. Depends on the other team. Every team has a big weakness coming into this worlds. There is no real clear cut favorite for the first time. Should be interesting to see which teams can cover up their flaws and win the whole thing.
Jemmie Xie this isn’t true, 2015 had aphromoo, doublelift, and bjergsen on it. You really shouldn’t talk about something that you don’t know, especially when you are blatantly incorrect.
Onestly I liked it more when there were 3 analysts doing the top20. Some players are rated so differently that it would be nice to have a third educated voice in there, from a third region, giving us some more perspective on those controversial rankings. Also, Vedius is notoriously kind of biased lol. Would have been perfect with Frosk instead of Vedius and an expert of lpl/lck.
@@evane9677 I'm not saying that this list is biased towards EU. I'm saying that he consistently gets overhyped about a player(last year Caps, now Perks) or a team(G2), and overpredicts their ability. Then compensates underpredicting other players form EU to pretend he's not biased. Sometimes he ends up being right, because sometimes dreams come true, but he's not making an objective list, because he has always been a fairly emotion-driven analyst/caster. You can tell it by listening to any of the games he casts in my opinion. And the same goes for Deficio and Medic. To be honest, NA analysts are much more cool-headed than NA ones. Maybe because NA lost all hopes tbh. ( BTW I'm from EUW and I'm supporting G2 at this tournament)
@@evane9677 I would. But Perks being a beast does not mean that Vedius does not overhype him and G2 as a team. And even if he put Caps after Hyllissang, you can bet that deep down he thinks Caps is better, he's just slapping his wrist for not performing up to his potential.
Although I wouldn't rank anyone above Faker, I have a feeling analysts still rank him at the very top simply because he's Faker, and because that one year they thought it was funny to rank him number 2, he absolutely stopped through ROX, got the MVP of the tournament, and Smeb who was ranked number 1 by them that year has been unheard of since, so the analysts looked like absolute idiots for ever doubting him. Just another thing Faker does.
@@bernardkuiper1496 Yeah, it's like they said, despite Faker not doing that well per se as a laner, people are still saying they are Faker. It's a legacy carried forward at this point in my opinion, like we expect him to do something crazy and just absolutely break the mentality of his opponents, despite it not happening for the entirety of 2019 LCK, because that was the case for so many years before. I mean, I'm still expecting him to just suddenly whip out that Riven mid out of nowhere and just dominate and threaten a ban for the remainder of a series, lol.
These lists are predictions going into a tournament. Smeb that year absolutely deserved number 1 on the list. He didnt meet expectations but he didnt play bad either. Faker did play a lot better than he did at the tournament but these are predictions based on regular seasons and international events going into worlds. Cant blame them if someone doesnt perform how they expect. With that said Perkz at number 2 get out of here with that lmao
@@Mike-hy8cs I know, but the point was, you just don't doubt Faker, and that's kind of been passed down as a legacy, which is why he's been ranked number 1 by Jatt and Vedius. I was an avid viewer of LCK back in 2016, yeah, Smeb did well, but I still wouldn't have ranked him number 1. I suppose partially I felt this way is because I was evaluating his performance on a comparative basis (which I normally don't do and isn't exactly fair), and I thought MaRin in 2015 was way better, like, way way better. I wouldn't take Vedius' list too closely, he did say he was very biased in his picks, so I'd just let it go. At least he's not like Froskurinn; trying to force opinions as facts...

This podcast is so satisfying to watch and listen to. Their points are all good. But I am a bit baffled with how their list differs so much. I wish there was a third analyst that can buffer or merge this list. But this just highlights that everyone has their opinion, that we have our own point of views on who we see as strong, who is performing well, etc. Some concentrates on solo performance and mechanical skills of players, some considers teamplay and teamfights as a better measurement for team strength and so on. Great content guys! More please!
DWG Nuguri and Showmaker should be listed higher. They also underrate GRF player just because GRF did not show any achievement and improvement, but most of KR team have more mechanically skills than other regions.
In my opinion the best part about G2 VS Griffin, is that they have 2 amazingly mechanical support players. Lehends and MikyX could probably play solo lane in Pro Play, it’ll be really exciting if they play the high execution champs like Thresh, Pyke, etc. Hopefully no lame stuff.
If you count out caps because of recency & inconsistency I think the rookie for sure should be lower if not off the list. He was trash the summer split so that’s recency and also inconsistent.
Yeah but rookie is just a overall better player than caps is and at his peak he is competing with faker for best mid in the world. Same with why i agree the shy should be on everyones top 20 list despite his shortcomings. At his high points shy is easily probably the best top at this worlds. Thats why its so hard to rank ig players atm. I completely agree with caps off the list especially after his last showing at worlds when it mattered. He completely got stomped especially in the ig series. Thats why id put rookie and the shy on the list before i even think about putting caps
Rookie was dealing with family issues which no doubt impacted his level of play in summer. Ntm lol has actual decent Midlane talent in Knight and Doinb which you can't say for EU. Finally Rookies highs have him winning a world championship where he won tournament MVP. His pedigree is much higher than Caps at all points.

For me, the main player snubbed off this list (at least off the top of my head) is CoreJJ. NA needs some hope lmao. As an NA fan I do agree with the list otherwise. NA is weak af. Truth hurts sometimes
@@SilencedButNotForgotten I politely disagree with Effort, he get caught out too many times to be the rated so highly although he is very good across the board. Amitava Ghosh as much as I love him, he doesn’t deserve it. Yes he’s always winning but he’s never shown up internationally except in MSI last year and that’s not enough. We know his cap is high af but his choking is horrible .

NGU Warrior you think NA is worse than LMS?
Where is Core JJ😥
No COREJJ? The lists are just wrong. Is it just because he's now in Team Liquid? Were he still playing in the LCK, would he be on the list? He has his own Rakan skin...
From NA, but I get why he isn't on there. He doesn't have his own Rakan skin. Ruler gave it to him when he got his Xayah skin.
Now he is No. 1 at this list 🤷🏼♂️

Idk how he's biased. He only has 5 European players and out of those players, caps isn't one of them.

Very hyped for worlds!! cant wait!! nice video and top20s! great analyzing!
Yup. They actually said that in this video
SSG won worlds 2017 but the best performing player is that Galio guy flying through the map.
@@bernardkuiper1496
Yeah, it's like they said, despite Faker not doing that well per se as a laner, people are still saying they are Faker.
@@Mike-hy8cs
I know, but the point was, you just don't doubt Faker, and that's kind of been passed down as a legacy, which is why he's been ranked number 1 by Jatt and Vedius.

Wait Perkz joined FPX ? :)
How do you not put Core in top 20, or even svenskeren. What?
Because Svenskeren plays for C9 in NA. He would be top 10 if he was playing for G2 instead of Jankos. Just region bias.
Mike his most recent performance at msi he pentakilled skt so how can you say rookie is competing with faker but caps isnt?
andrew silver saying he will get better after injury is speculation and would be just like saying caps will be better at worlds because he isnt trying in the regular splits and waiting for international competition
