I would like to thank you so much because this video helped me out tremendously. First of all I used diesel in my Subaru, WRX and she did not like that very much and so I was left with my hands in the air going. Oh shit!I grabbed the wrong fuel container. It started putting and pouring fluid out the tailpipes. I immediately shut the car off and realized I grabbed the diesel not ethanol. I’m going to take your advice now and going to drain the lines and then hopefully, finger crossed that will help me get her going again because I am very sad.
Gonna empty out my fuel that I accidently put diesel and ran it for 3 minutes and then I heard knock noises and my engine died. I hope this empty method works and no serious engine damage
Hey there and thanks for watching. My years of draining out diesel fuel in gasoline vehicles I haven’t seen any engine damage yet so I’m pretty sure you will be just fine
@@AlexTheCarDoctor same happens to me yesterday i put one gallon of diesel by mistake si now i its in the shop i hope the car will run just fine after clear out the diesel, 🙏🙌
Found myself here after I read about a story here in Ireland that happened just yesterday. A Circle K fuel station filled their petrol reservoir with diesel by mistake, and they estimate that 87 cars filled their petrol cars up with diesel (or whatever petrol/diesel mix was being delivered to the pumps) before they realised their mistake! It's won't be good for that filling station's reputation, and I hope they put all those customers' fuel systems right (hopefully not too many of them were driving too far on that diesel mix), but they are SO lucky that they didn't put petrol in the diesel pumps instead... That might have killed a few cars! My wife drives a petrol and I drive a diesel, and I'm just glad that each car comes with a misfuelling prevention device fitted, so my dumb brain doesn't have to worry too much about getting mixed up at the pump :D, but it never occurred to me that the fuel station might not have a similar type of failsafe system! Anyway, another great video showing the practical side of this kind of issue. At least it's good to know that when you get some diesel in your petrol tank, it's not likely to be so bad if you remedy it this way, and soon.
I am going to tell you that you are the best mechanic that I have come across. Your videos are the most informative on the internet. Just curious what city are you located in?
@@AlexTheCarDoctor it gave me the confidence to do it myself, and my 2007 Toyota Kluger (Highlander in the USA) is back to normal operation. Very happy!!
Hi how are you doing so I just put $20 dollar worth of diesel inside my car by accident it’s driving weird I want to knw if I should drive the gas out r try sucking it out ??
Hi Alex. I mistakenly put in .77 cents worth , yes cents not dollars worth of diesel by mistake yesterday before realizing. About half that came out dripped in the frame where the gas door closes and the side panel (washed it off with water a few times and patted dry with towel). Now considering I had about half a tank of regular gas still left in tank and only pumped .77 cents worth of Diesel and probably half of that maybe got in the tank, then stopped and filled up rest of the tank with regular gas close to 8 gallons. Car ran and got me home fine but worried. Do you think it will be okay? For reference my car is a Toyota Camry SE 2017
Yesterday We've accidentally put 11 gallons of diesel in our 2016 Nissan Altima, were hoping your video helps us we haven't looked at the engine yet to see if its similar to the car in your video. Hoping we can find the fuel pump line also are car is a push start so I'm wondering if we push on that like you turn the key and it will do the same thing, if you read this comment and have any advice please let us know were doing this in the next hour. We don't have a scanner so we are doing it the way you showed us. Also how hard is it to unplug the fuel line and how hard is it to put it back together. Anything you can show us so we can make sure it back together properly. We also appreciate and love you energy thank you for being so helpful and having a kind spirit. Take care
Hey there buddy sorry to hear your misfortune. yes, that way will work just fine with the push button. Start turning it on and off. to remove the fuel line should be pretty easy on that model.

Thanks for the comparison shot, that will help me when I can test my fuel.

I recommend pumping it out as seen in the video.

Did it work? Did you do the method he did?

My Brother filled Up his John Deere with diesel ran it for a minute and it quit. Are Local mechanic says its toast, any ideas that can help??
Hi my daughter fill her tank up all the way up with diesel she have a Nissan Altima would this same method still work
It should, what year
Are Nissan is 2016 Altima And I filled the tank up as well. And drove it home for about five minutes.
Did it work? By using his method? Did you pump the gas out by putting the pumper in the gas tank?
Diesel on the right. Gasoline on Left
Big difference
@@AlexTheCarDoctor Indeed
For me it was the opposite
@@eatmyasaaaaaa6203 Same here. Diesel is generally to the left, with a space to differentiate it from the 3 grades of gas to the right.
Size of the nozzle
Can I do this home myself I’m 20
What's your charge per hour
I’m out of Touch with my front office but I do believe 110$
I put premium in a diesel car
Diesel nozzle won’t fit in gasoline car
I know but somehow they manage to put diesel in it anyway.
